(Open Doors USA) — We have confirmed that Hossain Ali (65), a former Muslim who converted to Christianity, was hacked to death early in the morning on Tuesday, March 22 by Islamic militants in Garialpara, Kurigram, Northern Bangladesh.

While Hossain was coming back from his morning walk, three assailants on motorbikes approached him, threw a cocktail bomb and attacked with sharp weapons. Hossain Ali died on the spot. After police verification, Hossain’s body was sent for autopsy.

Hossain was a freedom fighter and became a Christian in 1999. After his conversion, his wife tied him up and held him captive in their house for three days. His family and relatives pressured and persecuted him, yet he never forsook Jesus.
