(Evangelical Focus)— There are 50 million “uprooted” children in the world. This is the main idea a new study by UNICEF has made public this week: “Uprooted: The Growing Crisis for Refugee and Migrant Children.”
These are some of the main findings:
– 31 million children live outside their country of birth, including 11 million child refugees and asylum-seekers.
– In 2015, just two countries—Syria and Afghanistan—accounted for nearly half of all child refugees under UNHCR’s mandate; about three-quarters of all child refugees under UNHCR’s mandate came from only 10 countries.
Dear Reader, because of your generous support, we have received enough funds to send many audio Bibles to Iraqi and Syrian refugees displaced by ISIS in the Middle East. Many have been distributed and received with gladness. Now, as the cold winds of winter blow in, we are seeking to also meet the physical needs of the people by providing fuel-operated heaters for the refugees and their children to stay warm. Would you join us by making a donation today to this important work (James 2:16)?Please click here to send a heater to a refugee family >>
