Pearl Harbor Attack Cited as Evangelism Catalyst

HONOLULU (Baptist Press) As Americans commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, some Christians also are remembering a series of evangelistic harvests that emerged from the death and destruction.

Among those to find a saving relationship with Jesus in the aftermath of Dec. 7, 1941, were the commander of the Japanese air fleet that carried out the attack, Japanese Buddhists in Hawaii and other Hawaii residents who heard the preaching of missionaries recalled from East Asia.

A special message from the publisher...

Dear Reader, because of your generous support, we have received enough funds to send many audio Bibles to Iraqi and Syrian refugees displaced by ISIS in the Middle East. Many have been distributed and received with gladness. Now, as the cold winds of winter blow in, we are seeking to also meet the physical needs of the people by providing fuel-operated heaters for the refugees and their children to stay warm. Would you join us by making a donation today to this important work (James 2:16)? Please click here to send a heater to a refugee family >>

Thank God for saving souls! Japan has the smallest percentage of Christian population among all free nations, but the Gospel is not bound. It’s sad that it takes grave tragedies for some to find Jesus, but our God is in control. Even some local gang members (yakuza) become Christian and serve the Lord. Praise the Lord!

Thank God for the USA at WW2 and afterwards. Europe and Asia and Africa would have been covered with utter darkness of tyranny or with the deadly terror of the militant atheism, if there were no USA. God alone knows how many more millions of innocent people would have been murdered by villains if the USA did not act at that time. What a blessing the USA was. The USA rescued Germany and Japan, not just the victim nations. May the USA not-shame her forefathers this century and shake off her insanity of immorality today and be blessed.
