An undercover investigation involving nearly 70 Planned Parenthood locations nationwide captured almost all of the facilities outlining that the organization does not offer ultrasounds for mothers who want to ensure their baby is healthy, but only provides them for women who wish to obtain abortions.

“One would think that a corporation that constantly touts its care for women, uses ‘parenthood’ in its name, AND has ultrasound machines would want to ensure healthy pregnancies by allowing women to access ultrasounds to monitor the development of their babies,” the organization Live Action outlined on Monday in releasing its latest investigative video.

“But at Planned Parenthood, Live Action investigators discovered ultrasound machines generally have one purpose: abortion.”

Live Action called and/or visited 68 Planned Parenthood facilities nationwide, posing as a woman who wished to obtain ultrasound care to ensure their baby was okay. In all but three cases, they were turned away, being advised that ultrasounds are only provided for women who seek to abort their children.

“So, other than a pregnancy test, I heard you guys had ultrasounds. Would it be possible [to obtain one]?” one undercover investigator asked the Planned Parenthood office in Corning, New York.

“No, we only do ultrasounds if you are terminating,” the representative replied.

“Would it be possible to get an ultrasound to just check that the baby’s healthy?” the investigator asked the Planned Parenthood location in St. Louis, Missouri.

“No. Nope. Not something we offer,” the employee replied.

“I thought you did ultrasounds, but maybe I was confused,” the investigator responded.

“Well, we do have to do an ultrasound with an abortion, but we don’t offer them for—We can’t do anything to make sure the pregnancy’s fine,” the Planned Parenthood representative outlined.

“No, we don’t do any ultrasounds for prenatal care,” a representative in Council Bluffs, Iowa likewise outlined. “We do them when we’re doing abortions, but not for any other reason.”

A similar answer was provided from the Planned Parenthood location in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

“At Planned Parenthood, you can only get the ultrasound for abortions?” the undercover investigator asked.

“Yes, Ma’am. ‘Cause that’s the only service that we do,” the representative answered. “We don’t do any prenatal care or adoption here.”

“Planned Parenthood uses ultrasound to determine a baby’s age and position in the womb before it kills her,” Live Action outlined regarding its research. “Investigators asked 68 Planned Parenthood facilities for ultrasounds to check the health of their babies, but only three were able to provide them. The remainder either did not do ultrasounds or used ultrasounds for abortions only.”

As previously reported, as outlined in a separate video released earlier this month, Live Action discovered that the majority of Planned Parenthood facilities do not offer any type of prenatal care for pregnant mothers—only abortion.

Undercover investigators contacted 97 facilities nationwide and requested pregnancy care, but were turned away by 92 of the locations, being advised, “We don’t offer prenatal care at Planned Parenthood. We specialize in abortions. You know, that’s what our ultrasounds are for—to see how far along the patient is.”
