French Soldier Fires at Machete-Wielding Man Shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ Outside Louvre

(The Telegraph) A man wielding a machete and shouting ‘Allahu akbar’ has been shot after attacking a soldier outside the Louvre in Paris, police say.

Kudos to the quick-thinking French soldier who took this would-be radical Muslim terrorist down. Lives were saved, and he is, without question, a national hero, to the French, and to all of us. I notice that Christian News has not covered the terrorist attack at the mosque in Quebec, where six people were murdered by a radical Christian terrorist. I feel that terrorism is terrorism, and unless the subject is addressed plainly and honestly, we will never understand the motivations behind acts of religious/political terrorism.

I stand corrected, and I thank you. I note this is an early report, before the identity and the political/religious sympathies of the shooter were made known. I would think that because it was a massacre in a place of worship, the Christian News would have provided a comprehensive follow-up to the story, once more details came to light. We must face facts here. He was a radicalized Christian terrorist. I’m sure many will leap to the point that he wasn’t a “True Christian” and that’s certainly a legitimate point. Nevertheless, if we are to judge the horrible people who commit these atrocities by identical standards, as we must if we wish to be fair, then he is no different than any other terrorist, motivated by his own freakish blend of politics and religion. And sadly six people lost their lives, and more were seriously injured.
