‘Pope Francis’ Calls for Collaboration With World’s Religions, Those Who ‘Meet God in Different Ways’

Vatican Video Joined-compressed (1)ROME — In his first-ever video declaring his “prayer intentions,” the Roman Catholic leader Jorge Bergoglio, also known as Pope Francis, called for dialogue and collaboration among those of the various world religions on Tuesday, asserting that they are simply “seeking or meeting God in different ways.”

“Most of the planet’s inhabitants declare themselves believers,” he states in the production released on the Feast of Epiphany. “This should lead to dialogue among religions. We should not stop praying for it and collaborating with those who think differently.”

The video then features clips of those from different world religions declaring belief in their various deities.

“I have confidence in Buddha,” a female lama announces.

“I believe in God,” a rabbi affirms.

“I believe in Jesus Christ,” a priest states.

“I believe in Allah,” an Islamic leader declares.

Francis contends that all the religions of the world simply represent mankind’s diversity in seeking God. He says that despite the differing beliefs, everyone is a child of the same God.

“Many think differently, feel differently, seeking God or meeting God in different ways,” he states. “In this crowd, in this range of religions, there is only one certainty that we have for all: we are all children of God.”

The video then provides footage of the pontiff meeting with and embracing those of various religions, including Buddhists, Islamists and Orthodox Jews. It again cuts to representatives of the world’s religions, who now declare the same statement: “I believe in love.”

“I hope you will spread my prayer request this month: that sincere dialogue among men and women of different faiths may produce fruits of peace and justice,” Francis states. “I have confidence in your prayers.”

But not everyone is supportive of the Vatican’s call for unity and common ground. Mike Gendron of Proclaiming the Gospel Ministries of Plano, Texas told Christian News Network that the pontiff’s assertions that all mankind is “seeking or meeting God in different ways,” and that all are children of the same God, are flawed.

“Tragically, those who do not know the Bible or who refuse to submit to it as the supreme authority for truth, will be deceived by the pope’s latest pronouncement,” he stated. “The pope’s assertion that all mankind meets with/seeks after the same God, just in different ways, is false according to the word of God. No one seeks for (the true) God (Rom. 3:11), but there are many who seek after false gods of their own imagination or false gods of their religious traditions. The only way to meet with the true God is His way, through the one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus (1 Tim. 2:5).”

“The word of God reveals that the human race is made up of people who are either children of God or children of the devil (1 John 3:10),” Gendron explained. “The Lord Jesus soundly rebuked the religious leaders of His day for refusing to believe the truth of His Word (John 8:440-43). Jesus told them that their father was the devil, who is the father of lies (John 8:44).”

“This remains true today,” he continued. “The god of this world has created a variety of religions to blind all of his children from the light of the Gospel and the glory of Christ (2 Cor. 4:4).”

Gedron said that in one sense—although not deliberately—Francis is correct as all are children of the darkness by nature, but man only becomes a child of God when he is reborn in Christ.

“Everyone is a child of the ‘god of this world’ until they exchange their religion for a relationship with the one true God through Jesus Christ,” he outlined. “Those who receive Jesus by believing in His name become children of God (John 1:12-13).”

Gendron, a former Roman Catholic, also opined that the pontiff’s ecumenicism is fulfilling prophesy about the formulation of a one world religion.

“As the pope continues to accelerate his ecumenical agenda to rebuild the religious tower of Babel, he will be fulfilling Bible prophecy. All the religions of the world already share a ‘works-righteousness’ salvation and they all are already united by a common spiritual bond,” he said.

“As we see the prophetic one-world religion forming, we know the children of the true God will have no part of it because they have been sanctified by the truth and sealed with the Holy Spirit (2 Thes. 2:13),” Gendron stated.

        So true.

      • Valri

How can that be when he teaches from the Bible, and the Bible was canonized by the Catholic Church?

        • daniel

i thought the article answers your question very well. if the pope is truly teaching from the bible he would not be calling for a “collaboration” with other religions which blind their followers from the truth of the gospel and salvation in the Jewish Messiah, but rather the mandate of the great commission- to preach the good news, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. to say that there are different ways to meet God (after the Savior whom the pope is to be representing has declared Himself the only way) is contradictory to His Word
          …can you see that?

          • Valri

“if the pope is truly teaching from the bible he would not be calling for a “collaboration” with other religions”
There is a lot of arrogance in that statement. Of course everyone who has a belief system believes they are correct and everyone else is wrong. That includes Christians. Pope Francis recognizes a stalemate when he sees one and is calling on people of many faiths to recognize that which unites them rather than divides them. Do you seriously think God would take issue with someone doing that?

          • daniel

not meaning to sound arrogant at all. i’m really curious to know what it is the pope thinks unites Christians (Catholic OR Protestant) wilth say, Islam. one of the other religions, whose leaders command its “faithful” adherents, that in order to hope to gain paradise, they annihilate (or die trying) the infidel who will not submit … also please don’t be so hasty to assume that i think i am right and everyone else is wrong.

          • Valri

What unites Christians with Islam? I can think of one thing – a belief in a God or higher power. Which is more than they’d have in common with, say, atheists.

          • daniel

i understand what you’re saying. and i get this visual of an imaginary conversation between a hooded islamic jihadist holding a machete to my neck as i kneel, bound and blindfolded, saying, “hey friend, we are in unity because we both believe in a higher power”. there are no atheists i know of who are presently beheading and crucifying people, and engaged in establishing sharia law in place of every governing power in the world.

          • Valri

Would you want to be compared to the type of “Christian” who pickets the funerals of dead soldiers because there are homosexuals in the world? Or the ones who bomb abortion clinics? Not recognizing the clear double standard here? Of course you don’t want to be compared to the extremists in your faith and I’m sure the others don’t either. And somehow I don’t think that’s who the pope is addressing, but the majority of peaceful adherents to their faiths.

          • daniel

thankfully there are some moderate muslims who are finally calling for reform to the barbaric teachings of islam, but not nearly the majority of their voices has been heard as yet. primarily because for them to speak against the mandates of the one they profess to follow would cost them their lives as well at the hand of their own muslim brothers. if these are the ones the pope is attempting to enlighten, that’s great. maybe he can convince them that allah and Jehovah are not the same God. and that the Jesus they anticipate to return to convince the world of the fact that islam is the true faith and mohammed is its prophet, maybe that’s not the same Jesus he represents ….hope so.

See my answer above and study revelation 17 and 18, that’s all about the RCC.

  • The Last Trump

We were not given a mandate to collaborate with world religions.
We were given The Great Commission.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Mathew 28:16.

Boy, would it ever be nice to see this “Pope” mention THAT every once in a while.

Wonder what Jesus would say about all of this collaboration nonsense….
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. YOU WILL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS.” Mathew 7:15.
Oh yeah. Sounds about right, doesn’t it?

    • Valri

Yeah Trumpy, what a horrible thing, a Christian leader trying to find common ground with other faiths rather than telling them they’re all going to hell. What a surprise that we can add your fellow Christians to the laundry list of people you hate.

          • Jack Jackson

The Pope said that all people are children of God but they are not. People who are NOT born again Christians are Children of Satan. Islam is one of several evil religions that are being embraced by the Pope.

She’s made an excellent guess then, hasn’t she?

      • Linda

Jesus Himself personally chose an apostle who became a non-believer, a thief, and a murderous traitor. Did that negate the fact that the Church our Lord instituted was wrong, or its doctrines erroneous.

The Catholic Church is the only Church which can trace its roots back, year by year, century by century, to Jesus.

The Catholic Church gave the world the Bible, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, at the end of the 4th Century. So if you believe that the Catholic Church is a “harlot”, then you’d better throw your Bible in the garbage, otherwise you are proclaiming that you trust in the infallibility of a book declared infallible by the Catholic Church. If the Church is wrong about everything else, then how can you trust that the Bible, compiled by the Catholic Church, is right?

        • FoJC_Forever

Lies. Your father, the Devil, has taught you this madness.

          • Linda

Lies, huh? Tell me, Mr. Bible Scholar: Exactly WHERE did the Bible come from? How do you know that the books that are in the Bible are infallible? Who told you?

I’ll be waiting for your answer.

          • Amos Moses

The Holy Spirit is responsible for it and no man or church of men could have done it without the Holy Spirit.

Or did you not know that?

          • Linda

Of course the Holy Spirit is “responsible for it”. But did the Holy Spirit write it out, put it in leather binding, and toss it down from Heaven?

No, the Holy Spirit guided the Church to discern which of the hundreds of books about Jesus and His teachings were infallible. And the Catholic Church, inspired by the Holy Spirit, under the authority given to it by Christ Himself, under the Pope, officially declared which books would be in what came to be known as the Bible.

Thousands of protestant scholars have known this for centuries. It’s not exactly secret. It’s simple history, available in abundance to anyone interested.

          • Amos Moses

” But did the Holy Spirit write it out, put it in leather binding, and toss it down from Heaven?”

Actually, YES, He saw to every detail of it.

          • Linda

            Amos, my man–you’ve got problems.

          • Amos Moses

Of course, but not as big as the one you have. That you believe God/Christ/The Holy Spirit is not sovereign and in control of even the smallest detail. That it was His promise to protect His word, which is not separate from Him, and that He has total control of it.

No man and no church of men has ever had any control over God and His word.Period.

so why can’t you see the truth? The scriptures was written by Holy men. The catholic church admitted that thy changed God law, look into your history and read what Daniel and Revelation says, there are many more scriptures and they all agree with each other.

          • FoJC_Forever

I hear Jesus, unlike people who pretend to be Christian, only reading the Scripture and listening to the lies of false tradition and pagan religion masquerading as Christianity.

I get my knowledge of God from God. Catholics are not responsible for the Scriptures, God is the one who gave them to us. Your arrogance knows no bounds. You blaspheme God’s Spirit and will suffer in the Eternal Lake of Fire.

            Judgement is coming.

          • lizk

the eternal lake of fire only burns till nothing is left to burn. Do you think God is loving if He likes to see burning of people for eternity? It’s eternal separation from God. It only burns like dry grass once there is nothing left it will burn itself out. God has a people and they will be hated because they obey God and keep His commandments, not to be saved but that they are saved.

          • FoJC_Forever

No. It doesn’t burn itself out. It’s not a physical fire.

          • lizk

When God destroys the wicked they will be ashes under the feet of the saints it is eternal separation. God prepared the lake of fire for the devil and his angel and all who follow the father of lies.

          • FoJC_Forever

The Lake of Fire – Eternal Damnation – is eternal separation from God. You are listening to lies.

If your catholic you should not be reading the bible on your own.

          • Heidi K.

Most catholics don’t read the Word of GOD, they only listen to their twisted priests.

          • Guns N Rosaries

Most people you believe to be Catholic are “catholic” in name only, which is exactly why they don’t read or don’t understand Holy Scripture.

The only difference between protestants and these false “catholics” is that the protestants call themselves Christian, but not Catholic, while the false “catholics” call themselves both.

          • Linda

You’re quite a Christian witness, friend. What fundamentalist denomination has taught you to hate others so vehemently? Or do you just hate Catholics on your own?

“If a man says he loves God but hates his brother, the truth is not in him and he is a liar.”

          • FoJC_Forever

Catholics aren’t Christian, and I don’t hate them anyway, so your Scripture quote is misapplied in two ways: they aren’t part of the Brethren and I don’t hate them.

            Follow Jesus, find Truth.

          • TomfromErie j

Exegesis dear, exegesis. Brother means Brother in Christ.

          • Linda

“Whatever you did to the least of My brothers, you did it to Me.” Jesus means any other fellow human being (not just another Christian) that we must treat with deeds of mercy and charity, or we will go to Hell.

Could you possibly be advocating hatred towards Catholics because in your opinion, we are not your “brothers in Christ”, therefore it’s not violating any commandment by hating Catholics?

          • TomfromErie j

I do not hate catholics, it is the teaching,,pope’s, traditions of the RC church which is apostate.

          • lizk

Jesus told us faith without works is dead and works without the Spirit is dead. We cannot serve God without faith.

          • TomfromErie j

I do not hate catholics. The church of Rome teaches a false gospel

          • lizk

God has His people in many denominations but He is calling out His people out of Babylon and if you don’t know this read Revelation about the beast that rose out of the water, and find out the meaning and it gives the colors of the beast. Read about the little horn the description is amazing and you should be able to know who it’s talking about.

        • Heidi K.

You are mistaken, the RC Cult was invented AD 313 with the “conversion” of the Roman Emperor Constantine, it’s a mix of paganism and some Christianity.

          • Linda

Proof, please, Heidi. The historical fact, which is very easy to obtain, is that the Catholic Church existed after the Ascension of Christ, with the Eucharist, the Mass, devotion to the mother of Christ, the priesthood, the sacraments, etc. Ignatius of Antioch, a Father of the Church, because the Fathers were students and disciples of the Apostles, said, “Where the bishop is, there is the Catholic Church”. He was a student of St. John, the Apostle, and Ignatius wrote this in the 100’s- more than 200 years before Constantine.

The Catholic Church is the only Church who can trace its roots–including Papal succession–century by century to the time of Christ. No Bible existed until the 4th century, so the Bible being the sole rule of faith is impossible.

          • jafo

Yup papal succession! Through the era of various ‘black popes’. Those that murdered, had kids, developed indulgences, etc. Sorry but I want no part of such a ‘church’. Your very vicar of Christ has denied the gospel by saying their are other paths to God and salvation outside of Christ alone. Sorry but scripture is clear Jesus is the only path to salvation.

          • lizk

            I agree with your statement

          • lizk

Jesus said salvation belongs to the Jew 1st You need to read a lot more of the word of God. He has not changed and what He spoke and wrote will never change only this time He wrote His laws on our hearts and minds so we would know Him. The church even admit it that it changed God’s law. Know you history. We are told to come out of Babylon. Read Daniel and Revelation.

          • lizk

Jesus said don’t call any man father for we have a Father in heaven and the pope is not the representative of Christ for Jesus is the head of the church and they call themselves Holy Father which only belongs to God. God gave His covenant to the Jews 1st and the new covenant was written on the hearts and minds of men the same law that he wrote on stone with His own finger and spoke it.

          • Laurence Charles Ringo

            So…The Scriptures that Jesus,the disciples,the great Apostle Paul et.al.used were compiled when,Linda?

          • bamared2222

That is total garbage. Most of what you are talking about arose out of paganism, especially Mariology! The papacy is a farce and the “Pope” as the “vicar of Christ,” is ridiculous. There is only one man, Jesus, who is the mediator between man and God; it isn’t the Pope or Mary.

          • Guns N Rosaries

Babylon, Rome, and Egypt individually or COMBINED were not allowed to reign over Israel in the Old Testament; since Jesus SPECIFICALLY SAID that His burden and yoke were light and sweet (Matthew 11 v 30), it would makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE for a Loving GOD to allow a Harlot sect to hide AND rule over His New Israel as you assert.
Can Satan cast out Satan, yes or no? Surely you do not consider the abominable sect of Islam to be representative of something good sent from God? Well it was the Catholic Church that kept Islam at bay for 1200 YEARS…..now that Europe and the civilized world is no longer Catholic, there is NO MORE VISIBLE CHURCH TO STEM THE TIDE OF ISLAMIC INCURSION. Strange how something you consider to be of the devil did very well at keeping the satanic sect of Islam contained for 12 centuries……or was it just “luck?”

          • bamared2222

You did not answer any comments that I made at all. You completely avoided them to go over into some nebulous rant. Please get lost, you cant even carry on an intelligent conversation.

          • Guns N Rosaries

Why don’t you try asking a question, or is that concept too cerebral for you?
You were ranting the usual unthinking, undisciplined, and disjointed protestant babble that has been refuted time and again. I have met very few protestants that can even remotely think clearly……if you think yourself different from them, then prove it.

          • bamared2222

You sound brainwashed with Catholicism so that you cant conceive what the Bible actually says. Read and think for yourself. Hey, you can be provocative and rude all you want because I am not offended. I know who I am and I know my abilities and my spiritual nature.
I will try asking questions one more time. If you just rant and continue to avoid answering, fine. Do you know whether you will go to heaven when you die? That is the quintessential question for any human being. You should know the answer to that question. If so, on what basis would you go to heaven? How do you get forgiveness for sin? I am going to keep it simple and not get into any difficult precepts. What is the purpose of rosary beads? How did Mary become a perpetual virgin? Why do Catholics pray to Mary? Is there still such a thing as purgatory and what is the basis for it? Can you demonstrate from scripture regarding any of these questions? If not, then what is the basis for your answers? I am mostly curious of what you can tell me.
To my background, I was in a dead church and understood little about spiritual things when I was young. When I was in college, I had a real experience with God with the help of a friend that totally changed my life. That was over 40 years ago. I have studied the Bible those many years, even taking a two year course in biblical studies. I have taught in churches for most of the 40 years in various capacities and age groups. I am not stupid as you propose; in fact, I possibly have even more formal education than you. No matter, that doesn’t increase spirituality but it does show initiative to learn more and to think critically.
If you want to truly have an honest discussion, then do as the apostle Paul said “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” II Corinthians 13:5. You need to think about these questions from your pinnacle of piety and examine them honestly.I am waiting to hear what you have to say.

I READ the Bible, and it says to hear the Church or be like the heathen and the sinner for FAILURE TO DO SO (Matthew 18 v 17). THE BIBLE also says that the Church in the pillar and the ground of truth (1 Timothy 3 v 15); did you conveniently overlook these verses, or in playing the game of “Martie Luther’s New Protestant Revolution” you took a Sharpie and crossed everything that offended your sensibilities?

AT this moment, in the state that I am in, if I die in this state, I will go straight to hell.

Of course you were in a dead “church,” as all visible “churches” lead to spiritual death, including the visible ones that call themselves “catholic.”

Do you know what a prayer is? IT IS A PETITION, A REQUEST. Can you not read of the requests people made of Moses, Elias and others to INTERCEDE on their behalf to God because THEY KNEW that God would hear and/or answer the PETITION of a holy man sooner than He would of a non-holy man?
Is the Mother of Jesus Christ in heaven or hell? Hopefully, your brainwashing has at least allowed you to concede that she is in heaven sitting next to her Son…….if our petitions can be heard by God, cannot the petitions also be heard by the saints? Yes, the saints CAN hear the petitions…..so why is it lawful to petition saints living on earth when we could EASILY pray to God directly, but you consider it unlawful to petition the saints once they get to heaven?
THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT IF YOU CANNOT PETITION OTHERS TO PETITION GOD ON YOUR BEHALF, THEN WHAT YOU ARE SAYING IS THAT WE CANNOT PRAY (PETITION) FOR EACH OTHER, WHICH IS CLEARLY NOT FORBIDDEN IN THE BIBLE. And this is the fruit of your corrupt doctrine; inconsistency, stupidity, and chaos.
And what of the Rosary beads, or more specifically, which BIBLICALLY-BASED PRAYERS DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH? Luke 1 v 28? Matthew 6 v 9? Or is it just the Glory Be?
This ought to be the part where the chaos of your satanic doctrine is fully revealed as such, because now you will undoubtedly reference Matthew 6 v 7, but tell; can you not tell the difference between a prayer that God loves and a prayer that God hates? Can you not tell the difference between a heathen and a Christian? No, sadly, you cannot……otherwise you wouldn’t have a problem with the Holy Rosary.
Romans 12:12 Rejoicing in hope. Patient in tribulation. Instant in prayer.
Ephesians 6:18 By all prayer and supplication praying at all times in the spirit; and in the same watching with all instance and supplication for all the saints:

You say you had an experience with God; did you apply Galatians 1 vs 8-9 in your discernment? What about 1 Corinthians 12 v 10….how do you KNOW you have the gift of discernment? And what about 1 Timothy 4 v 1…..when can or should THAT verse be applied? All I hear is “I,” “me,” “myself;” nothing is said about the Church.
            Here is a good commentary on 2 Corinthians 13 v 5:
Ver. 5. Try your ownselves if you be in the faith.[1] He does not mean if they have a right Christian faith or belief, but either whether they had a saving Christian faith working in them by charity, or as St. Chrysostom says, a faith that shewed itself by the gift of miracles, at that time commonly given to the first Christians. — Unless perhaps you are disapproved,[2] rejected, and justly deprived of this gift, which was a proof that they were Christians, and had received the Spirit of Christ. I judged it better to translate here disapproved, that reprobates, which in other places is often taken as opposed to the predestinate and the elect, whereas there it signifies those who were rejected, and deprived of the gifts of the spirit, particularly of that of miracles, and of those spiritual gifts granted to the first Christians, and which were a proof that they had received the grace: and the 7th verse, not that we may appear approved, but that….we may be as reprobates. That is, we wish that we may have no occasion to shew the power and the gifts of the spirit, and that of miracles, but as if we were rejected, disapproved, reproved, and deprived of such proofs. (Witham)

What you are trying to do is become a “Pope” and a “Church” unto yourself; you cannot succeed, as you are outside of the body of Christ as long as you kick against the goad of Jesus Christ, the teachings of His Church, AND the Holy Ghost which protects the teachings of His Church through the infallible voice of St. Peter (Luke 22 v 32).

You need to re-examine your entire thought processes on matter of faith as you are in great error and are not in a state of grace.

You mean the twisted RCC bible didn’t exist until the 4th century! Mass isn’t even mentioned in the Holy Bible. Please repent while there is time.

          • Linda

Heidi: Hate to burst your hate-filled, bigoted anti-Catholic bubble, but it was the Catholic Church, under the authority of the Pope, in 2 successive Church Councils in the 4th century, who decided (by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit) which of the hundreds of religious letters and gospels and books floating around were infallible. Those infallible books were compiled into the Canon of Holy Scripture (along with the Old Testament), and became the only bible used by Christians for twelve centuries–1,200 years of all Christians worldwide believing in Purgatory (Book of Machabees), believing in all the 7 Sacraments– including universal belief in the True Presence of the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, i.e. Eucharist, first called “eucharist” by the Apostle John’s disciple Ignatius of Antioch in the first century.

The entire Christian world accepted and believed ALL Catholic doctrines until Martin Luther came along and decided to remove several books from the Bible which confirmed the doctrines he hated: Purgatory, the necessity of the Eucharist, salvation by faith and works of mercy and compassion.

Every word I wrote here is historical fact, and the Protestant world acknowledges that it was the Catholic Church that gave the world the Bible, not the other way around.

The Church grew and flourished for the first 350 years WITHOUT A BIBLE! All doctrines and truths were taught BY TRADITION AND BY WORD OF MOUTH.

I suggest you take a course in history before you spew your uneducated hatred against the Church instituted by Jesus Christ Himself.

More ignorant fictional recitation of bigoted stories. HANG ON TIME YOU LEARNED SOMETHING beyond the false witness you display here against Christ’s church.

If few Fundamentalists know the history of their religion—which distressingly few do—even fewer have an appreciation of the history of the Catholic Church. They become easy prey for purveyors of fanciful “histories” that claim to account for the origin and advance of Catholicism.
Anti-Catholics often suggest that Catholicism did not exist prior to the Edict of Milan, which was issued in 313 AD and made Christianity legal in the Roman Empire. With this, pagan influences began to contaminate the previously untainted Christian Church. In no time, various inventions adopted from paganism began to replace the gospel that had been once for all delivered to the saints. At least, that is the theory.
            Pagan Influence Fallacy;
Opponents of the Church often attempt to discredit Catholicism by attempting to show similarities between it and the beliefs or practices of ancient paganism. This fallacy is frequently committed by Fundamentalists against Catholics, by Seventh-day Adventists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, and others against both Protestants and Catholics, and by atheists and skeptics against both Christians and Jews.
The nineteenth century witnessed a flowering of this “pagan influence fallacy.” Publications such as The Two Babylons by Alexander Hislop (the classic English text charging the Catholic Church with paganism) paved the way for generations of antagonism towards the Church. During this time, entire new sects were created (Seventh-day Adventists, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses)—all considering traditional Catholicism and Protestantism as polluted by paganism. This era also saw atheistic “freethinkers” such as Robert Ingersoll writing books attacking Christianity and Judaism as pagan.
The pagan influence fallacy has not gone away in the twentieth century, but newer archaeology and more mature scholarship have diminished its influence. Yet there are still many committing it. In Protestant circles, numerous works have continued to popularize the claims of Alexander Hislop, most notably the comic books of Jack Chick and the book Babylon Mystery Religion by the young Ralph Woodrow (later Woodrow realized its flaws and wrote The Babylon Connection? repudiating it and refuting Hislop). Other Christian and quasi-Christian sects have continued to charge mainstream Christianity with paganism, and many atheists have continued to repeat—unquestioned—the charges of paganism leveled by their forebears.
Use of a round wafer implies sun worship?
Hislop and Chick argue that the wafers of Communion are round, just like the wafers of the sun worshippers of Baal. They don’t bother to mention that the wafers used by the same pagans were also ovals, triangles, some with the edges folded over, or shaped like leaves or animals, etc. The fact that a wafer is round does not make it immoral or pagan, since even the Jews had wafers and cakes offered in the Old Testament (Gen. 18:1-8, Ex 29:1-2).
Unfortunately for Chick and other Fundamentalists, their arguments backfire. An atheist will take the pagan connection one step further, saying, “Christianity itself is simply a regurgitation of pagan myths: the incarnation of a divinity from a virgin, a venerated mother and child, just like Isis and Osiris, Isa and Iswara, Fortuna and Jupiter, and Semiramis and Tammuz. Beyond this, some pagans had a triune God, and pagan gods were often pictured with wings, as was your God in Psalms 91:4. The flames on the heads of the apostles were also seen as an omen from the gods in Roman poetry and heathen myths long before Pentecost. A rock is struck that brings forth water in the Old Testament . . . just like the pagan goddess Rhea did long before then. Also, Jesus is known as the ‘fish,’ just like the fish-god Dagon, etc.” Unless the Fundamentalists are willing to honestly examine the logical fallacies and historical inaccuracies, they are left defenseless. Fortunately, like the attacks on Catholicism in particular, all of the supposed parallels mentioned above self-destruct when examined with any scholarly rigor. If not guilty of historical inaccuracies, they all are guilty of what can be called “pagan influence fallacies.”

Anything can be attacked using fallacy

The pagan influence fallacy is committed when one charges that a particular religion, belief, or practice is of pagan origin or has been influenced by paganism and is therefore false, wrong, tainted, or to be repudiated. In this minimal form, the pagan influence fallacy is a subcase of the genetic fallacy, which improperly judges a thing based on its history or origins rather than on its own merits (e.g., “No one should use this medicine because it was invented by a drunkard and adulterer”).
Very frequently, the pagan influence fallacy is committed in connection with other fallacies, most notably the post hoc ergo proper hoc (“After this, therefore because of this”) fallacy—e.g., “Some ancient pagans did or believed something millennia ago, therefore any parallel Christian practices and beliefs must be derived from that source.” Frequently, a variant on this fallacy is committed in which, as soon as a parallel with something pagan is noted, it is assumed that the pagan counterpart is the more ancient. This variant might be called the similis hoc ergo propter hoc (“Similar to this, therefore because of this”) fallacy.
When the pagan influence fallacy is encountered, it should be pointed out that it is, in fact, a fallacy. To help make this clear to a religious person committing it, it may be helpful to illustrate with cases where the pagan influence fallacy could be committed against his own position (e.g., the practice of circumcision was practiced in the ancient world by a number of peoples—including the Egyptians—but few Jews or Christians would say that its divinely authorized use in Israel was an example of “pagan corruption”).
To help a secular person see the fallacy involved, one might point to a parallel case of the genetic fallacy involving those of his perspective (e.g., “Nobody should accept this particular scientific theory because it was developed by an atheist”).
Whenever one encounters a proposed example of pagan influence, one should demand that its existence be properly documented, not just asserted. The danger of accepting an inaccurate claim is too great. The amount of misinformation in this area is great enough that it is advisable never to accept a reported parallel as true unless it can be demonstrated from primary source documents or through reliable, scholarly secondary sources. After receiving documentation supporting the claim of a pagan parallel, one should ask a number of questions:
            1. Is there a parallel? Frequently, there is not. The claim of a parallel may be erroneous, especially when the documentation provided is based on an old or undisclosed source.

For example: “The Egyptians had a trinity. They worshiped Osiris, Isis, and Horus, thousands of years before the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost were known” (Robert Ingersoll, Why I Am an Agnostic). This is not true. The Egyptians had an Ennead—a pantheon of nine major gods and goddesses. Osiris, Isis, and Horus were simply three divinities in the pantheon who were closely related by marriage and blood (not surprising, since the Ennead itself was an extended family) and who figured in the same myth cycle. They did not represent the three persons of a single divine being (the Christian understanding of the Trinity). The claim of an Egyptian trinity is simply wrong. There is no parallel.
            2. Is the parallel dependent or independent? Even if there is a pagan parallel, that does not mean that there is a causal relationship involved. Two groups may develop similar beliefs, practices, and artifacts totally independently of each other. The idea that similar forms are always the result of diffusion from a common source has long been rejected by archaeology and anthropology, and for very good reason: Humans are similar to each other and live in similar (i.e., terrestrial) environments, leading them to have similar cultural artifacts and views.
For example, Fundamentalists have made much of the fact that Catholic art includes Madonna and Child images and that non-Christian art, all over the world, also frequently includes mother and child images. There is nothing sinister in this. The fact is that, in every culture, there are mothers who hold their children! Sometimes this gets represented in art, including religious art, and it especially is used when a work of art is being done to show the motherhood of an individual. Mother-with child-images do not need to be explained by a theory of diffusion from a common, pagan religious source (such as Hislop’s suggestion that such images stem from representations of Semiramis holding Tammuz). One need look no further than the fact that mothers holding children is a universal feature of human experience and a convenient way for artists to represent motherhood.
            3. Is the parallel antecedent or consequent? Even if there is a pagan parallel that is causally related to a non-pagan counterpart, this does not establish which gave rise to the other. It may be that the pagan parallel is a late borrowing from a non-pagan source. Frequently, the pagan sources we have are so late that they have been shaped in reaction to Jewish and Christian ideas. Sometimes it is possible to tell that pagans have been borrowing from non-pagans. Other times, it cannot be discerned who is borrowing from whom (or, indeed, if anyone is borrowing from anyone).
For example: The ideas expressed in the Norse Elder Edda about the end and regeneration of the world were probably influenced by the teachings of Christians with whom the Norse had been in contact for centuries (H. A. Guerber, The Norsemen, 339f).
            4. Is the parallel treated positively, neutrally, or negatively? Even if there is a pagan parallel to a non-pagan counterpart, that does not mean that the item or concept was enthusiastically or uncritically accepted by non-pagans. One must ask how they regarded it. Did they regard it as something positive, neutral, or negative?

For example: Circumcision and the symbol of the cross might be termed “neutral” Jewish and Christian counterparts to pagan parallels. It is quite likely that the early Hebrews first encountered the idea of circumcision among neighboring non-Jewish peoples, but that does not mean they regarded it as a
religiously good thing for non-Jews to do. Circumcision was regarded as a religiously good thing only for Jews because for them it symbolized a special covenant with the one true God (Gen. 17). The Hebrew scriptures are silent in a religious appraisal of non-Jewish circumcision; they seemed indifferent to the fact that some pagans circumcised.

Similarly, the early Christians who adopted the cross as a symbol did not do so because it was a pagan religious symbol (the pagan cultures which use it as a symbol, notably in East Asia and the Americas, had no influence on the early Christians). The cross was used as a Christian symbol because Christ died on a cross—his execution being regarded as a bad thing in itself, in fact, an infinite injustice—but one from which he brought life for the world. Christians did not adopt it because it was a pagan symbol they liked and wanted to copy.

Examples of negative parallels are often found in Genesis. For instance, the Flood narrative (Gen. 6-9) has parallels to pagan flood stories, but is written so that it refutes ideas in them. Thus Genesis attributes the flood to human sin (6:5-7), not overpopulation, as Atrahasis’ Epic and the Greek poem Cypria did (I. Kikawada & A. Quinn). The presence of flood stories in cultures around the world does not undermine the validity of the biblical narrative, but lends it more credence.

Criticism, refutation, and replacement are also the principles behind modern holidays being
celebrated to a limited extent around the same time as former pagan holidays. In actuality, reports of Christian holidays coinciding with pagan ones are often inaccurate (Christmas does not occur on Saturnalia, for example). However, to the extent the phenomenon occurs at all, Christian holidays were introduced to provide a wholesome, non-pagan alternative celebration, which thus critiques and rejects the pagan holiday.

This is the same process that leads Fundamentalists who are offended at the (inaccurately alleged) pagan derivation of Halloween to introduce alternative “Reformation Day” celebrations for their children. (This modern Protestant holiday is based on the fact that the Reformation began when Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the church door in Wittenberg, Germany, on October 31, 1517.) Another Fundamentalist substitution for Halloween has been “harvest festivals” that celebrate the season of autumn and the gathering of crops. These fundamentalist substitutions are no more “pagan” than the celebrations of days or seasons that may have been introduced by earlier Christians.

            Historical truth prevails

Ultimately, all attempts to prove Catholicism “pagan” fail. Catholic doctrines are neither borrowed from the mystery religions nor introduced from pagans after the conversion of Constantine. To make a charge of paganism stick, one must be able to show more than a similarity between something in the Church and something in the non-Christian world. One must be able to demonstrate a legitimate connection between the two, showing clearly that one is a result of the other, and that there is something wrong with the non-Christian item.

In the final analysis, nobody has been able to prove these things regarding a doctrine of the Catholic faith, or even its officially authorized practices. The charge of paganism just doesn’t work.

I was raised a catholic and when through the catholic school even then I had questions and there was a priest that said God words and His law is above man made laws, till I got a bible when I was 27 yrs old and read the bible for the 1st time as I needed to know the truth and when I was reading the bible it wasn’t what I was taught by 30 yrs of age I left the catholic church because I asked God to lead me. I have found a church that teaches the words of God.

THAT is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost AND the other Two Persons of the Holy Trinity….you’re saying that a mere man was able to instill a supposed false religion upon the world, eclipse the true Church, which has Apostles as a light of the world (Matthew 5 v 14), and is seated on a mountain (Matthew 5 v 14, Revelation 21 v 2).
St. Paul was correct is reaffirming that women have no right or duty to preach on matters of faith (1 Corinthians 14 vs 34-35).

          • Heidi K.

I would never blaspheme the HOLY SPIRIT or the FATHER or the SON!!! Roman Catholicism is not the only false region installed by the devil, there are countless false religions on this plane but the RCC is metioned in the Book of Revelation – Rev. 17 and o18.

Revelation 18:23 And the light of the lamp shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth, for all nations have been deceived by thy enchantments.

Did you notice St. John’s words here…..that the Voice of the BRIDE and the BRIDEGROOM WERE ONCE HEARD WITHIN HER (THE WHORE OF BABYLON)?
Is ANYONE going to suggest that she was the Whore of Babylon WHILE THE VOICE OF JESUS AND THE CHURCH WERE HEARD WITHIN HER?
If anyone wishes to, then I would recommend you cease all MSG, flouride and mercury consumption, and then return here when you can again think critically.

IT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS that the Voice of Jesus/the Church was heard in her BEFORE SHE became the Whore of Babylon…..which you should now logically assume WAS NOT the Whore but rather, the true Church. THIS is why the colors of Revelation 17 SEEM to describe the Catholic Church……for the simple reason that the counterfeit sect that rose within the shell of the formerly visible Catholic Church still uses those colors….it is a facade, a shell, a flim-flam…..how many young boys need to be sodomized before people realize this?
A REVOLUTION took place with the 2nd Vatican Council, and its effects were not confined to just the Church, but were felt throughout the whole world!!!!

So say that the devil instituted a 2000 year old false sect to burden mankind, especially when Jesus said His yoke and burden was light and sweet (Matthew 11 v 30) is the height of ignorance, stupidity, and bad will.

THERE IS NO OLD TESTAMENT PRECURSOR, FOREBODING OR FORESHADOWING OF THIS SECT……THERE IS a precursor for Babylon, but only in the Last Days.

St. John tells us of the Seals opened, the Trumpets blown, the Vials poured, the destruction of Rome, the death of the Two Witnesses AND the 3 Woes BEFORE HE TELLS US OF THE WHORE OF BABYLON; Jesus Christ HIMSELF does not speak of the Whore of Babylon……a strange omission if you wish to continue to believe that the Catholic Church has always been Babylon.
No, this concept has only been around since Martin Luther threw his first few turds at the devil; Luther had conversations with the devil, and was even won over to the devil’s arguments…….Luther was unstable in every aspect of his life.
His forerunner, Wycliffe, said; “God should obey the devil.”
Whether he was aware of it or not, Luther took Wycliffe’s words to heart wholeheartedly.

Yes, when you speak against the Bride of Jesus Christ you do commit blasphemy….against Him, against the Comforter, against the Father, and against the Holy Trinity as a whole.

Women are not permitted to teach the faith, which is something you should consider:

            1 Corinthians 14:33-35

33 For God is not the God of dissension, but of peace: as also I teach in all the churches of the saints.

34 Let women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted them to speak, but to be subject, as also the law saith.

35 But if they would learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is a shame for a woman to speak in the church.

          • Heidi K.

You don’t want to know the truth but you have been warned. Women shouldn’t preach before a congregation but the Holy Bible allows us to share the gospel.

          • Guns N Rosaries

If preaching before a congregation is forbidden, how is it that the restriction is removed outside the building? How DOES that work, exactly?
If you look closely in the Epistles and in the Gospels, women were rarely quoted; their ministry was totally and is today totally different from a man’s ministry. Did you fail to notice that not one of the original Apostles, nor their successors were women?

Pride is the problem you suffer from, and pride is STILL a deadly sin.
You would do well to humble yourself, come to the knowledge of the truth, and convert to the Catholic Faith of Jesus Christ.

Most Holy Family Monastery dot com can show how to begin the conversion process. Please take note that these two monks are wearing sackcloth (Revelation 11 v 3).

Remain as you are and it is assured you will never see God in the face……..I say this with love and charity.

          • Guns N Rosaries

Just one more thing to consider:

Was the rise of Islam good or evil?

If it was evil, and the Catholic Church was evil, then how can satan cast out satan during the Crusades (Mark 3 v 23)?

If Islam is good, then why didn’t Jesus make Mohammed the Shepherd of His Church (Mosque) instead of Peter?

The answer, hopefully, is obvious….you’ve imbibed Anti-Catholic propaganda for some time now……isn’t it time you examined the other side of the issue?

        • Jack Jackson

When you start off with a lie who can believe anything else you say. Jesus did not “chose an apostle who became a non-believer, a thief and a murderous traitor.”

            Judas was what?

          • Linda

Oh, really? So who handpicked Judas Iscariot, pray tell?

          • DookyDan

Please read John 13:18 and Psalm 41:9. Judas was picked to carry out Gods plan. The body of Christ, those who believe the gospel as stated in 1 COR 15:1-4 is not corrupted. The Christian religions of the world be it Catholic or Protestant can be corrupted but the body of Christ who has Christ as its head can not be corrupted.

          • Linda

Judas rejected the Doctrine of the Eucharist. Read John 6, after all the disciples, except the Apostles, turned away and no longer followed Him, because they couldn’t accept that Jesus said, “If you don’t eat My flesh and drink My blood, you have no life in you”. They understood that Jesus was speaking literally, which is why they abandoned Him. If He was speaking symbolically, He would have called them back to tell them it wasn’t literal. But He emphasized several times that His FLESH IS “REAL FOOD” and His “BLOOD IS REAL DRINK”.

“And He knew who didn’t believe, and who would betray Him.” Judas is that person.

One more thing: The exact location in John where the disbelieving disciples turned their backs on Jesus when He commanded them to eat His flesh and drink His blood is: 6:66.

I’d seriously rethink my protestant heresy if I were you.

          • DookyDan

First of all, I was born and raised a devout Catholic. Schooled by nuns, served as an altar boy. I was a defender of The Catholic Church and would have been your staunchest ally. I believed all Protestants were on an express train to hell. Read the catechism and believed what the church taught. Never read the bible and never questioned the church teachings. I say this because I know your heart is where mine once was. I believed the Catholic Church gave us the bible too. Then I started comparing the bible to church doctorine and it looked like at some point in time, the church departed from the bible they gave us. At that point, I departed from The Catholic Church.

Jesus was speaking spiritually not literally. Why do I say that? Because consuming blood was taboo. Lev 17:10-14. The apostles knew that too and made sure that Paul, who is the apostle of the Gentiles, forbade the gentile body to consume blood too. Acts 21:25. If Christ came to fulfill the law, why would He violate it by telling them to eat His flesh and drink His blood if it was a literal statement?

Jesus did NOT come to fulfill the Mosaic Law. He came to fulfill the natural and moral law of loving God with our whole heart, soul, mind and strength, and loving our neighbor as ourselves for the love of God.

Yes, consuming blood was taboo. But Jesus is God, and He is the Divine Lawgiver. He is not bound by the Mosaic Law. Jesus was not telling people to feed on his bloody corpse, but to eat His resurrected, glorified Body, the Bread of Life. And if you reject His extremely unambiguous, clear comnand, you will not attain eternal life!

Come back to the true Church!

          • DookyDan

Read Mathew 5:17 again please Christ said He came to fulfill the law in that verse. Faith in His atoning sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection from the dead and nothing else is the way we attain eternal life. 1 COR 15:1-4 You need to spend more time in the epistles of Paul because he is the apostle to the Gentiles. Jesus, Peter and the other apostles were ministers to the Jews. I have the verses to back that up but I know you aren’t interested in seeing them because I used to believe like you and I didn’t want to hear anything contrary to what the nuns taught me. When I stopped thinking like that, the scriptures became clear. It was very liberating. I hope you come to that epiphany. No where did Christ say eat my resurrected glorified body. You’re immersed in Catholic doctorine and I have to remind you that the church can’t save you because it needs saved itself.

actually Judas was the only one Jesus did NOT pick.

        • http://www.dontneednostinkinwebsite.com/ Midlandr

Judas was never a believer. He was chosen to fulfill the Scripture. The RCC is a creation of the fourth century. The church is the body of regenerated believers, not an organization of man.

          • DookyDan

Yep, read Psalm 41:9. Christ fulfilled the scriptures precisely.

            A thousand up votes.

        • evaphillips

The fact that people are arguing about the Bible just shows how close to the end of the age we truly are. Proclaim Jesus and let the chips fall where they may. Everyone has to make their own decision about what they will do with this Jesus. No denomination has an exclusive inroad to Him. It’s an individual decision.

          • Thomas Wayne Vogt

False… the catholic church IS the church Christ himsel started 2000 years ago and scripture proves this.

          • evaphillips

I’m not interested in any church except that which is the body of the Lord Jesus Christ who was and is and is to come. He is the creator of the universe and everything in it. As a part of the trinity, He has a plan being fulfilled daily and coming to the rapture and second coming in our lifetimes. He is approachable and loves you and me. You ask me how I know he lives? He lives within my heart. Call upon Him today and be saved from the wrath that is to come for all eternity. Folks think things on the earth are bad now, but this is just man’s wrath and satan’s wrath. God’s wrath is to be avoided. I’m so glad He made a way for me to escape to heaven, then come back with Jesus at the Battle of Armageddon. I will reign and rule with Him for 1000 years from Jerusalem. PRAISE THE LORD!

          • lizk

Jesus will judge the living and the dead before He comes back. When He does return He will have His reward with Him. We are told the righteous dead will be raised and those who are alive will be transformed and we ascend at that time together with the righteous dead at the same time and that the rest of the dead remain sleeping for a 1000 years before they will receive their punishment. When the righteous ascend there will be no one living as the wicked will die at His coming.

          • lizk

study scriptures before you make that claim. Study the little horn in Daniel and Revelation.

          • bamared2222

Is that the verse that Catholics claim that Jesus made Peter the first Pope? That is totally misinterpreted to suit the church. There is NO historical evidence that Peter was ever in Rome.

          • evaphillips

Just look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. The Alpha and Omega. He doesn’t need any of us. We are privileged that He made a plan and a way for reconciliation at all. Greater love hath no man than he lay down His life for a friend. Thank you, Jesus! The way, the truth and the light.

The RCC is the Whore of Babylon, the false church mentioned in Revelation 17 and 18! Please study the Holy Bible for yourselves, catholics and ask the LORD (not Mary!) for guidance!!

        • Chris

The early church leaders were not Catholics. They were predominantly Hebrew scribes. Jesus Christ is the True Leader and hails from the tribe of Judah. James 1- 1 “Greetings to Israel who is scattered abroad” (now we are everywhere). Constantine corrupted the church and replaced the Sabbath with Sun-day worship and brought in the pagan relics for himself and the people to worship, along with the Babylonian priests of Dagon wearing fish hats calling them bishops and wearing scarlot in beast form. There has always been a persecuted remnant of true believers such as the Waldenses and others who followed The Word.
We declare that the system the harlot. There are many good people who need to come out the Roman Babylon system. Only The Creator can be called Father. No man can take the place of The Lord Jesus Christ. “Come out of her my people” declares the righteous one- Revelation 18:4 “and be not a partaker of her sins-receive not of her plagues”. Worship the Creator- Rev. 14:7 (also please read Isaiah 58). Read the Bible, pray to The Lord for truth and His Holy Spirit , and share it with others.

          • Linda

Ever read the Church Fathers, who were the students of the Apostles? They confirm in their writings that the early Church was indeed Catholic. Ignatius of Antioch learned from John the Apostles. Ignatius said, “Where the bishop is, there is the Catholic Church “. Irenaeus, another apostolic student, affirms that the Eucharist was given by presbetyrs (priests) to the faithful.

There are numerous written accounts that the Eucharist was brought to the imprisoned Christians for the first 3 centuries.

Writings and images carved in the walls of the catacombs prove that the ancient church believed in infant baptism, the Eucharist, prayers for the dead, and devotion to Blessed Mary.

          • Chris

That’s obviously a Catholic publication. The Catholic church came out of Babylon, Constantinople, (Istanbul) then Rome, (Saturnalia), not Israel, where the first Christians were, period. The Eucharist includes a “Sun” disc and other abominations that came from Paganism such as Mary instead of Jesus as part of the “Trinity”, not the Holy Godhead (Col.2:9&10) replacingChrist as the Savior and Mary worship which is actually the abominable Queen of Heaven who comes under many names such as Semiramis (Nimrods wife), Fatima, Isis/others. Also burning incense to her (Jer.44:19) which is another abomination (Isaiah 1:13).
Infant baptism is another lie along with Spiritualism (praying for the dead)
and once again the most unholy “Mary” worship which is completely
rooted in the most unholy whore of Babylon. Please understand this.
I know it’s hard, but it’s the truth.
Just read your Bible and learn the truth instead of being told it’s too
difficult for you to understand – and being lied to any more.
Don’t pray to anyone or confess sins to anyone but Jesus like Martin
Luther, who came out of the Catholic church said that Jesus is the
only one who can forgive our sins- (Acts 4:12).

          • Thomas Wayne Vogt

We catholics read and here have shown to understand Christianity and Historical/ scriptural context and truths better than you. the papcy and Christ’s church are supported in Scriptures. You cling to your anticatholic bigotry because you would need to face the actual truth that you have followed false teachers of the separated hereticaal churches your whole life and then admit you were fooled, while thre are a multitude of Catholics who became catholics because we searched for truth even if it isn’t convenient truth is truth what you assert is based only in fiction and can not refute scriptural truth that you are lost and choose to interpret the text as YOU feel… not as those who were placed in charge of Christs church have handed down for more than 2000 years. To ignore truth doesn’t make it less true it just makes you a fool for not listening and undertanding.

All you people know how to do is call names to justify your lack
of knowledge. Show me in scripture where the Catholic church
is described as anything but a harlot. Show me where the
Phalic symbol at the Vatican is anything but a most Egyptian
pagan relic Phallis of Nimrod. My Church is remnant ecclesia/
called out ones. Out of the Harlot (Rev 18:4). The catholic

truth you are talking about so I can refute your juvenile name
calling and judgmental jargon and embarass your tiny intillect.
The truth is that if you knew Jesus of Nazareth, knew the scripture,
and let go of your pride, you wouldn’t be so feeble minded.

I was a catholic till I read the bible, I was raised a catholic and went through catholic school. If one reads the word of God they should be able to see what is truth an error. One priest said God word is above man word. There are other things I had questions on and it was only when I started to read the bible when I was 27 that I needed to know the truth and it was only in the bible I found truth so then I asked God who is telling the truth that’s when I left the catholic church for good. When you ask God to show you the truth or lead you to who teaches the truth and compare it to the bible you should be able to know the truth if you really want to know.

          • CATRYNA49

Same thing with me. I began reading the Bible at age 8, asking controversial questions of the priests and nuns, because Catholic teaching, as I saw it, did not align with Bible teaching. What I got for it was repeated reprimands and told to stop reading the Bible as it would drive me crazy. No, it was the lies and hypocrisy of the adults, in the church and school, who were driving me crazy. Like I have said in earlier posts, I mentally left Catholism at age 9 and physically at 11. Thank goodness, I had one parent who could understand my conflict. And, as an adult I was finally able to fine the true worship of Jehovah God.

Private interpretation of prophecy is forbidden in the Bible…….don’t you think private interpretation of non-prophecy is forbidden as well? Or how about 1 Corinthians 14 vs 34-35 that forbids women from teaching about the faith? 1 Timothy 3 v 15 says that the Church is the pillar and the ground of truth, not private interpreters. And when there is disagreement on scriptural meaning, who decides who is right and who is wrong? Who renders a judgment or has rendered a judgment?

What you undoubtedly grew up in was a water-down, pre-tribulation Catholic Church, in which most (if not all) of the priests were heretics, modernists, freemasons and/or communists……either way, the result was the same……no solid catechism, no solid formation of faith, indifference to dogma, sin, morality, and so on. THIS period is what led up to the infiltration of the visible structures of Jesus’ Church by the devil and his associates.

And if the Holy Ghost leads all men to the truth, then why do we have 25,000 different sects all proclaiming to be Christian, and millions of others who claim to be “non-denominational” with millions more varying opinions on matters of faith?

It makes no sense and this pattern of thinking only leads to chaos, which OUGHT to be now be self-evident.

Galatians 1 vs 8-9 speaks well of the curse humanity is under for preaching false gospels in place of the true Gospel.

          • bamared2222

History and tradition of the church do not save you. Please explain how one is saved and granted eternal life. When you tell me that, I will know whether you know what the Bible says. The RCC has gone through centuries of corruption and superstition until people finally read the Bible and learned for themselves what God’s word said. If all you ever do is listen to the priest or Pope for truth and understanding, you will always be ignorant.

          • mydnytmover

The catholic church was not even started for 300years after Jesus, with a bunch of pagan traditions, Bunnies and eggs to worship the god of fertility, santa to come get kids to sacrifice to nimrod and make candles out of the sacrificed babies fat then decorate trees with these candles,,, Catholics give blind glory to the devil.

          • Guns N Rosaries

Catholics celebrate the Paschal Time….PROTESTANTS came up with and use the term “Easter.” Pagans, atheists, and/or protestants also came up with the novelty of bunnies and eggs…..don’t you get it?: once the break was made from the Church of Jesus Christ these novelties found fertile ground. Are you not familiar with the term “those who don’t stand up for Jesus will fall for anything?”
Well, abortion was condemned by protestant sects until 1930…..now it’s “pot luck” on finding ANY protestant sect that firmly condemns abortion……do I need to mention divorce? The Anglican heresy was FOUNDED IN DIVORCE AND SCHISM.
After centuries of allowing the falling away from Jesus’ Church to reach critical mass, Jesus finally allowed His Church’s buildings, global structure and hierarchy to be expelled and replaced with the synagogue of Satan…..a just punishment indeed for a fallen away humanity.
We traditional Catholics now refer to this counter-church as the Novus Ordo…….a protestant sect that outdoes all other protestant sects COMBINED in it’s heresy, blasphemy, and apostasy…..this Novus Ordo sect ALSO promotes the pagan notion of “Easter,” bunnies, and eggs during the holiest time of the year, and it is the Novus Ordo that is unifying ALL non-Christian sects under one roof in preparation of the advent of the Anti-christ.

Lostness is the condition of being without a relationship with Christ. Salvation is the act of repenting of sin and accepting Christ as savior through his shed blood as your substitute or propitiation for your sin. What is your definition of these terms? That you were baptized as an infant and confirmed when you grew up? That won’t cut it when you stand before God according to the Bible.

          • Guns N Rosaries

            Regarding the forgiveness of sins:
            John 20:22-23
22 When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost.
23 Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.
            Leviticus 5:10
And the other he shall burn for a holocaust, as is wont to be done: and the priest shall pray for him, and for his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.
            Leviticus 5:16
And he shall make good the damage itself which he hath done, and shall add the fifth part besides, delivering it to the priest, who shall pray for him, offering the ram, and it shall be forgiven him.
            Leviticus 5:18
He shall offer of the flocks a ram without blemish to the priest, according to the measure and estimation of the sin: and the priest shall pray for him, because he did it ignorantly: and it shall be forgiven him,
            Leviticus 19:22
And the priest shall pray for him and for his sin before the Lord, and he shall have mercy on him, and the sin shall be forgiven.

A Catholic priest does not incense a statue, but an altar, and an altar is not only something that a sacrifice is offered upon, but is also something ALL PROTESTANT SECTS REJECT:
            Exodus 30:1-3
1 Thou shalt make also an altar to burn incense, of setim wood.
2 It shall be a cubit in length, and another in breadth, that is, foursquare, and two in height. Horns shall go out of the same.
3 And thou shalt overlay it with the purest gold, as well as the grate thereof, as the walls round about and the horns. And thou shalt make to it a crown of gold round about,

            Exodus 30
Thou shalt make also an altar to burn incense, of setim wood. It shall be a cubit in length, and another in breadth, that is, foursquare, and two in height. Horns shall go out of the same. And thou shalt overlay it with the purest gold, as well as the grate thereof, as the walls round about and the horns. And thou shalt make to it a crown of gold round about, …
            Exodus 31:8
And the table and the vessels thereof, the most pure candlestick with the vessels thereof, and the altars of incense,
            Exodus 35:15
The altar of incense, and the bars, and the oil of unction and the incense of spices: the hanging at the door of the tabernacle:
And if you cannot pray for the dead or ask the saints in heaven (who are dead) to pray for you, then you cannot ask someone else to pray for you….PERIOD. But Holy Scripture contradicts you yet again:
            Numbers 21:7
Upon which they came to Moses, and said: We have sinned, because we have spoken against the Lord and thee: pray that he may take away these serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.
            1 Timothy 2:1
I desire therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men:
            1 Thessalonians 3:13
To confirm your hearts without blame, in holiness, before God and our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, with all his saints. Amen.
            Revelation 8:3
And another angel came, and stood before the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given to him much incense, that he should offer of the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar, which is before the throne of God.
            Jude 13-14
14 Now of these Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying: Behold, the Lord cometh with thousands of his saints,
15 To execute judgment upon all, and to reprove all the ungodly for all the works of their ungodliness, whereby they have done ungodly, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against God.

And as far as the Blessed Virgin, the Mother of Jesus Christ goes:
“The flesh of Jesus is the flesh of Mary.”
Since Jesus received His HUMAN FLESH FROM A HUMAN WOMAN, OBVIOUSLY IT WA NOT STAINED WITH THE ORIGINAL SIN OF ADAM. Why? Because not only did she conceive Jesus by the Holy Ghost, but that she ALSO was conceived by the Holy Ghost, and if she wasn’t conceived Immaculately, then The Word would have assumed tainted, stained, defiled, sinful flesh……an utterly abominable, wicked, and perverse thought, as nothing unclean can enter Heaven:
            Revelation 21:27
There shall not enter into it any thing defiled, or that worketh abomination or maketh a lie, but they that are written in the book of life of the Lamb.

I’ve made enough points for now….stop worshiping the devil, and start worshiping AND obeying Jesus Christ. A good first step is to hear His Church, which can no longer be found in Rome.

Most Holy Family Monastery dot com can show you the rest.

Jesus was dedicated not baptized as an infant, besides they can’t make the decision for themselves you can raise them to believe in God the Father and God the son but ultimately he has to make up his own mind. Jesus used unleavened bread and grape juice (not wine because it is fermented) Jesus was pure and holy, he was made sin for us who knew no sin. He was our perfect sacrifice for our sins. He took all our sins on Himself and was nailed to the cross and He rose on the 3rd day, which gives us hope in the resurrection to those who love Him and follow Jesus. The church has brought n pagan statutes and many images, and false teachings that’s why there was a reformation.

Constantine started it and it was far removed from Mars Hill where the Apostle Paul first brought the Greeks the Gospel. So as far as accusations go, you need to do some research before you call someone a false witness in hypocrisy.

you really should read Daniel and Revelation. Daniel tells us about the kingdoms and the little horn and Revelation goes further. To understand revelation you need to understand Daniel, but throughout the bible you can tell when it’s talking about end times. History repeats its self. The bible really gives a good description about the dragon. When one would like to know the truth when he hears it will know if it’s the truth if they compare everything by the woud of God.

          • bamared2222

You are brainwashed. And by the way, what is the definition of the church? It is not solely ONE church, specifically not just the RCC. It is the body of all baptized believers, bought by the blood and bound by the Bible. I don’t think the RCC would fit that definition. Open your eyes and read the scriptures and you will be amazed what you see that you have hitherto not known.

The leaders of the early church (the eleven), weren’t really scribes, they were fishermen, a tax collector, etc. You are correct in stating they were not “Catholic” as we know the denomination.

          • Chris

The scribes wrote the Bible for them for the most part. And they were all Hebrews. Paul, who wrote over 60% of the new testament was a Hebrew scholar. The entire old testament was written by Hebrew scribes and or scholars. The dispensation took the Word out to the
New Testament church including the book of Romans to the actual
Roman Christian Church, not the Catholics.

          • Guns N Rosaries

The word “Catholic” denotes the sameness and universality of the faith of Jesus Christ which a Christian receives upon receiving baptism; the word “Christian” defines Who we worship as God, as well as Who is the founder of the earthly Church sent down from Heaven in which we worship, we hear (Matthew 18 v 17, 1 Timothy 3 v 15), and in which there is no salvation, just as there was no salvation for those outside of Noah’s Ark.

            One, Holy, Catholic, & Apostolic.

Do you really want to try to make the argument that the pedophile-loving regime in Rome is truly Catholic?

          • http://www.dontneednostinkinwebsite.com/ Midlandr

Yes, it is Catholic, barely catholic.

          • Guns N Rosaries

To say that it is Catholic is to say that it is Christian; to say that it is Christian is to say it is Holy; to say that it is Holy is to elevate pedophelia to holiness; to say pedophelia is equivalent to holiness is a doctrine of the devil that is straight from hell……it is fornication, which is condemned as a deadly sin in both the Old and the New Testament.

What is found in Rome in not even REMOTELY Catholic; the regime in Rome is a notorious heretical, schismatic, apostate, and satanic sect…….no, it cannot be satanic and Catholic at the same time….not even just barely Catholic.

You really and truly need to re-examine your thought processes from top to bottom, as you are in a total spiritual fog.

          • bamared2222

Exactly. The early church fathers were Jews, the church only affirmed their writing for the canon. Constantine literally declared Romans to be Christians without any conversion experience! The RCC has deviated from the scriptures for centuries and unfortunately little has changed.

          • Guns N Rosaries

            Literally?
That is a load of “horse dung.”

          • bamared2222

The load of dung is what you have been spoon fed. You apparently are a Protestant-hating, brainwashed Catholic who does not even know the real history of the RCC. Sorry, I studied church history.

          • Guns N Rosaries

Studying “Church history” written by the enemies of the Church can hardly be considered “fair & balanced,” wouldn’t you say? Do you really expect those who broke away from the Church & their progeny would say ANYTHING positive about the Catholic Church? Only in rare cases of candor can you find protestants who actually speak the truth of things.
And your studies have been flawed in other ways as well, as Francis is not a true Pope, but he is actually an Anti-pope……and then there is the fact that Rome is no longer Catholic, as a counter-church FORECAST AND PROPHESIED to arise in Rome has been coming to fruition over the last 50 years……the transmogrification of the once-visible Church into the Whore of Babylon is almost complete, AND YOU DID NOT KNOW THIS.
And then there is the issue of your judging me unjustly( which is condemned in the Bible), by claiming that I hate protestants…..I don’t any human being, but I do hate their false religions.

          • bamared2222

I am sorry for the mischaracterization of you as a Protestant-hater which I meant collectively as a denomination, not individually. You certainly sound belligerent and hateful toward Protestants calling their faith a false religion. If Protestants have a false religion then are you saying you accept the RCC as the only true church? How do you know that I studied church history written by enemies of the church?? Catholics themselves have revealed secrets of the church’s inner workings and some have even left the church after discovering its inconsistencies with truth!
Actually, Protestants arguably had sound reasons for leaving the church. Basically, the RCC WAS CORRUPT and many of the popes were vile individuals. Just look at all the priests who are PERVERTS who ruined the lives of countless children!! Superstition and corruption was the order of the day and that is just two reasons why there is a period in history called the Dark Ages. For hundreds of years, parishioners were not allowed to read scripture, but only take what they were given by the priests and bishops.
By the way, judging is not condemned in the Bible (you need to read the whole chapter that speaks of it). People falsely use the verse, “Judge not, lest ye be judged” as a pretext to say that nobody has a right to make a judgment of someone else and that is totally incorrect. For example, if I see someone steal something, I can rightly judge that person is a thief. If I see someone kill another individual, the same is true. Now I CANNOT judge the motive of someone’s heart, but I most certainly can judge the actions that I see.
I did refer to Rome in a very general sense when I meant to say the Vatican. I have no disagreement about what you say about Francis and the present RCC as the great whore. I have studied this for years myself as a student of prophecy. I also have four degrees and have written two books, which at least entitle me to say that I am not ignorant. I certainly do not know everything, but I have a good grasp on many things which I have studied and researched over the years. All you have to do is read and study the Bible without a bias and let it speak for itself. Catholics that I have spoken too are ignorant of the Bible and have only taken the word of someone else, and that is dangerous. Several in my own family were Catholic and they totally relied on “the church” for their salvation and the Bible says no such thing. Only a salvation experience with Christ will allow you into Heaven. Not the church, not the Pope, not the Ordinances, rituals, communion, etc. The Bible was written for us to understand the basic precepts and truths. Some things are not totally understood but are gradually being revealed even in this day.

          • Guns N Rosaries

Can you not understand the difference between a false religion and one’s its adherents? I am condemning the RELIGION, not the PERSON; surely with the education you claim this concept is not beyond your understanding, or is it?
How many “Churches” did Jesus Christ establish on Pentecost Sunday? Ephesians 4 v 5 CLEARLY states that there is one faith; protestantism did not rear its ugly head until almost 1500 YEARS after Pentecost; Matthew 5 v 14 clearly states that, along with Jesus (John 8 v 12) that THEY are the light of the world in Matthew 5 v 14; they also received the Holy Ghost in John 20 v 22; so what you are, in essence, saying is that the light of the world was extinguished in the Apostle’s successors, the Holy Ghost would have then fled, and ultimately you paint Jesus Christ as a fool and a liar……is it even necessary for me to now say that you are a blasphemer to the NTH DEGREE?!?
The Church has NEVER been corrupted; it is the spotless Bride of Jesus Christ……men, on the other hand have been corrupted, both inside AND outside the Church, obviously…..but corrupt men cannot alter the teachings of Jesus Christ, the infallible (protected by the Holy Ghost) teachings of the true Popes, OR corrupt the saints and those of the body of Christ that comprise the faithful and/or elect. Now, if you expected a rose garden within the world after the Resurrection of Jesus, I need to break it to you gently……Adam had the rose garden and lost it due to original sin; thus evil men that rise up within the hierarchy of the Church of Jesus Christ are not only allowed by God to do so (obviously), but that when their punishment comes, it will be severer than if they were just laymen.
You speak of Catholics who speak of “inner workings” of the Church; the problem with your assertion is that the visible Church’s hierarchy and superstructure has been infiltrated over the last 100 years or so by freemasons, communists (see Dr. Bella Dodd), satanists, atheists, homosexuals, and other malcontents….the result was the 2nd Vatican Council, in which the original formulas of the protestant revolution were incorporated and melded onto Catholic Rites, and thus a new religion was born. Google “6 protestant minsters advise on new Catholic Mass;” if the Catholic Church tried to do this with ANY protestant sect, there would be lynchings in the streets.
So whatever family, friends, or others you’ve read about revealing certain things have all come DURING/AFTER the Vatican II revolution took place……the 20th century has seen the teaching authority of the Church so watered down that most Catholics, in essence, were so in name only.
And didn’t you know that a copy of the Holy Bible was hard to come by for 1100 years? That it was non-existent for the first 400 years or so (oh, woe is me, how did people manage)? That copies were very expensive, and thus unaffordable? That most common folk could not even read? Did you fail to notice in Acts 8 that it took the Apostle, St. Philip, to interpret Isaias to the eunuch because he was unable to comprehend it? In other words, IT TOOK ONE WHO WAS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD TO INSTRUCT OTHERS ON ITS MEANING, unless, of course, you wish to foolishly believe that any used car saleman, drunkard, prostitute, or fast-food worker can translate the Holy Book as WELL AS ONE WHO IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD? Do you really want to even CONSIDER making that argument?!?
Most of the men you refer to as “priests” were “ordained” in a revised rite that has no validity whatsoever, and this rite was installed on June 18, 1968, so basically it is laymen that are committing many of these crimes. What I said about priests earlier still stands; those who were ordained as true priests should very much hope that their punishment occurs on earth, because if they must wait for in the other world, it will be more severe. The jews were punished for rejecting the divinity of Jesus, so don’t you at least suppose the bad will on the part of the people who continue to believe that these wicked men are good, and thus are receiving a form of punishment for their spiritual blindness? In no way am I trying to justify the evil, I am just trying to explain it; after all, since nothing escapes God’s notice, obviously He could have prevented these occurrences, but did not…..the logical and faith-based conclusion is that He is trying to wake these people up in a way that shake them to their very core…..with some it works, with others it does not……moving over to a protestant sect is only compounding error upon error.
Nowhere in the Bible does it say it is the only source of knowledge and/or learning; TRADITION is also mentioned (2 Thessalonians 2 v 14, 2 Thessalonians 3 v 6). And then there is the issue of preachers and preaching, something that was of ABSOLUTE NECESSITY, as copies of the Holy Bible were just not made available…..and just so you are aware that I know Scripture, here are the relevant verses regarding preaching:
1 Timothy 2:7 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher and an apostle, (I say the truth, I lie not,) a doctor of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him, in whom they have not believed? Or how shall they believe him, of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear, without a preacher?
Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach unless they be sent, as it is written: How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, of them that bring glad tidings of good things!
1 Corinthians 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not in wisdom of speech, lest the cross of Christ should be made void.
1 Corinthians 9:14 So also the Lord ordained that they who preach the gospel, should live by the gospel.
1 Corinthians 9:16 For if I preach the gospel, it is no glory to me, for a necessity lieth upon me: for woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel.
Titus 1:3 But hath in due times manifested his word in preaching, which is committed to me according to the commandment of God our Saviour:
Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema.
Ephesians 3:8 To me, the least of all the saints, is given this grace, to preach among the Gentiles, the unsearchable riches of Christ,

It should be quite clear by now that one cannot preach unless one has been sent either by, Jesus Christ personally, or secondarily by the Apostles (Acts 1 v 23 & Acts 1 v 26). All others are thieves (John 10 v 1).
And if wicked men being allowed to enter the fold as wolves bothers you, perhaps you can meditate on the traitor, Judas Iscariot, for a while….as wicked as he was, he served a purpose in God’s Plan.

And lastly, 50 years or so before Luther there was the proto-protestant John Wycliffe, who’s error #6 was:
            “God should obey the devil.”
This error, like so many other errors of heretical men, was condemned by the Church of Jesus Christ.
His error was a sign of things to come in the 16th century.
And God gave Moses rituals for the Chosen People to follow, so your argument falls flat on its face and has absolutely no merit whatsoever. You protestants have no altars and no sacrifices, and here I will remind you of the Book of Revelation and others:
Romans 11:3 Lord, they have slain thy prophets, they have dug down thy altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
1 Corinthians 9:13 Know you not, that they who work in the holy place, eat the things that are of the holy place; and they that serve the altar, partake with the altar?
James 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, offering up Isaac his son upon the altar?
Revelation 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held.
Revelation 8:3 And another angel came, and stood before the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given to him much incense, that he should offer of the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar, which is before the throne of God.
Revelation 9:13 And the sixth angel sounded the trumpet: and I heard a voice from the four horns of the great altar, which is before the eyes of God,
Revelation 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and it was said to me: Arise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar and them that adore therein

One cannot maintain the tenants of the Old Covenant without violating the tenants of the New Covenant, and vice versa. The earliest Christians WERE of the Jewish tribes, that is true. To say Constantine corrupted the Church is to blaspheme the Holy Ghost…..and by default you blaspheme the other Two members of the Holy Trinity as well.
            Revelation 21:2
And I John saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
            Matthew 5:14
You are the light of the world. A city seated on a mountain cannot be hid.
            Ephesians 2:20
Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone:
            John 21
15 When therefore they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter: Simon son of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith to him: Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him: Feed my lambs.
16 He saith to him again: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? He saith to him: Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him: Feed my lambs.
17 He said to him the third time: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved, because he had said to him the third time: Lovest thou me? And he said to him: Lord, thou knowest all things: thou knowest that I love thee. He said to him: Feed my sheep.

Most coherent commentators CLEARLY understand that the Whore of Babylon is an End of Days manifestation; to say that it came into being shortly after the Resurrection is to say that Jesus yoke and burden are not light and sweet:
            Matthew 11:30
For my yoke is sweet and my burden light.

Are you willing to contradict Jesus in His Own words?

Then you at least need to come to the proper understanding of the Whore of Babylon, if nothing else.

          • Chris

To the Law and The Prophets- if they speak not according to
this word it is because there is no light in them. IS 8:20

The whore came out of Babylon and has been here all along.
In Revelation she does ride the revived Babylonian Roman Saturnalian kingdom beast from Daniel Chapter 2:33 feet of iron and clay.
We see that now with the popes actions in Israel and the One world
            Antichrist system in Ch.7.

            Started in Iraq.
The Catholic church is the revised version of the Cabalistic
Jewish system with some added adornments of course
            thanks to Constantine and friends.

And you are misquoting scripture right and left. If you would
like me to go point by point I can. One thing is for sure- If
you believe in Jesus – follow him, if you don’t then don’t
at your own peril. The choice is yours.

My point is not to offend or debate, but to impart some understanding
as The Lord Jesus would have us know so we would be in unison and
            entirely on His side.

          • Guns N Rosaries

You worry about offending or debating…..I don’t:
            Luke 20:21
And they asked him, saying: Master, we know that thou speakest and teachest rightly: and thou dost not respect any person, but teachest the way of God in truth.
            Romans 2:11
For there is no respect of persons with God.

I did not misquote Holy Scripture one iota; rather, it is your rejection of the truth that leads you to wrongly believe that I misquoted Holy Scripture. Did I get the one above about respect right? Absolutely.
You say to follow Jesus, while I say you cannot follow Him unless you love Him/obey Him (John 14 v 15). Did I get that one right, too? Do you really expect Jesus to save one whom He cannot command?

            1 Samuel 15:23
Because it is like the sin of witchcraft, to rebel: and like the crime of idolatry, to refuse to obey.
            Matthew 7:21
Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that doth the will of my Father who is in heaven, he shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.
And what is the will of the Father? That you should hear the Son:
            Matthew 17:5
And as he was yet speaking, behold a bright cloud overshadowed them. And lo, a voice out of the cloud, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: hear ye him.
And what did the Son say about HIS Church?
            Matthew 18:17
And if he will not hear them: tell the church. And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican.
And which Church is it that must be heard upon pain of damnation?
The Church of the Apostles, of course:
            Ephesians
2:20 Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone:
            Acts 8: 30-31
And Philip running thither, heard him reading the prophet Isaias. And he said: Thinkest thou that thou understandest what thou readest?
Who said: And how can I, unless some man shew me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

Show me the Church that is the city shining on a mountain (Rev.21 v 10) that is also lighted by the light of the world, the Apostles (Matthew 5 v 14), if it is not the Vatican of the past, NOT THE PRESENT, but the past…..before Oct. 9, 1958.

Otherwise you are just a fool and a liar and a deceiver. Your sect you follow or the sect you created for others to follow will be consumed and destroyed soon. Remain where you are and you WILL be lost for eternity.

            You are not God

            John 8:44New International Version (NIV)

44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

2 Timothy 3King James Version (KJV)

3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

            4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their’s also was.

10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

            14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

I never claimed to be God….is English your second language?
And why can you not make up your mind as to which faulty bible translation to use….I mean, after all, the NIV bible?!? Which uses the gender-neutral when it speaks of any Member of the Holy Trinity.
And I am glad you posted John 8 v 17, as it re-affirms the Catholic belief in good works.
You are the seducer and the deceiver, as you have no unity with true Christians as you are not in the Body of true believers.
Is your “church” in your basement or your mother’s basement? Is your father the “minister,” or are you?
Did you get your “diploma” for $150 like the rest of the two-bit “ministers” that wander around preaching on street corners?

          • Chris

It is clear that you are ignorant and very judgmental. That would be a “degree” and you are making yourself
look like the same person you are referring to. And I can’t really figure out what you’re talking about because
            you just spew.

          • Guns N Rosaries

            Speaking of being “judgmental:”
Jude 1:22 And some indeed reprove, being judged:
1 Peter 4:6 For, for this cause was the gospel preached also to the dead: that they might be judged indeed according to men, in the flesh; but may live according to God, in the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:15 But the spiritual man judgeth all things; and he himself is judged of no man.

You just called me ignorant, yet you are not judgmental?!?!? What a hypocrite!!! And hypocrisy IS condemned by Holy Scripture (1 Timothy 4 v 2).
Of course you cannot figure out what I am saying, as what I am saying is the truth, of which you abhor. Your pride will not allow you to even consider (I suppose) the possibility that you are wrong.

          • Chris

First you have to define a hypocrite. I’m not going to argue with you. You are twisting scripture and yes it is ignorant. All you have to do
is study the Catholic church, it’s doctrines, corruption and the list goes on to know what it is. If you still want to argue about it point
by point there is so much information that it’s overwhelming. As far as insults go, it doesn’t matter what you think, I have tried to
help you out. The bottom line is that you are in great peril and the Catholic church is not helping you. As far you as a person, I don’t
know, but you have given me a pretty good idea. But the leadership and doctrines come from hell and I am done talking to you now
because you are wasting my time. I believe in the Bible alone, no mans corrupt laws or theology. Good day.

          • Guns N Rosaries

Why should I define a word that has already been defined?
You are wise not to argue, as your arguments are heretical, un-biblical, and contrary to the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ.
The points being made are overwhelming to you for the simple reason is that you have a hatred of the truth. Did you ever even REMOTELY give the Catholic Church the benefit of the doubt, or does is your programming unalterable?
And any peril I am in is due to my sins, of which the worst sin of heresy that a man can commit, I am not guilty of.
You believe in the false and man-made doctrine of the “Bible alone,” a teaching that emanated from Martin Luther, and a teaching that is also contrary to Holy Scripture:
2 Thessalonians 2:14 Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle.

Holy Scripture RIGHT THERE contradicts you…..so is Holy Scripture wrong or are you wrong?
PREACHERS were SENT by the original Apostles, who were granted the AUTHORITY (a word you loathe) to send forth more Apostles:

Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him, in whom they have not believed? Or how shall they believe him, of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear, without a preacher?
Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach unless they be sent, as it is written: How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, of them that bring glad tidings of good things!

Technically, I have not been given the authority to preach, but since the visible Church (thanks to you protestants and your fellow traveler-freemasons) and it’s visible authority has disappeared, I am now free to preach the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ, in accordance with and in line with Holy Scripture.

If all of this is too cerebral for you, then just go back to bed…..when the time comes your father, the devil will summon you to worship his son, which you will do GLADLY & PROMPTLY.

          • Chris

Thats rich and funny. You already do. You know nothing about me, and you’re railing accusations. It’s unreal – you have things as upside down
and backwards as anyone I have ever heard vomit words.

          • Guns N Rosaries

I accused you of ONE thing; that of holding to the false belief of the “Bible alone.” You said I accused you of more than one thing, which is either an error or a lie….I’ll let the readers judge.
And speaking of vomit, let’s test who is spewing vomit from their mouths:

Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the world. A city seated on a mountain cannot be hid.
Revelation 21:10 And he took me up in spirit to a great and high mountain: and he shewed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God,
Revelation 18:23 And the light of the lamp shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth, for all nations have been deceived by thy enchantments.
And here is the one that WILL make you turn upside-down:
2 Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth, and is lifted up above all that is called God, or that is worshipped, so that he sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself as if he were God.

So show me the city, the one that CANNOT be hid, according to Jesus Christ? YOU CAN’T, as you are blinded by the fact that that city has existed (up until fairly recently) in the Eternal City of Rome.
Can you read AND understand Revelation 18 v 23? It says that the Voice of Jesus Christ WAS HEARD AT ONE TIME within her.
And regarding the Temple of God: since it is usually a foregone conclusion among most protestants that the Anti-christ will sit in Rome, in the Vatican, in the Chair of St. Peter, WHERE DO YOU SUPPOSE THE REAL TEMPLE OF GOD IS?!? IN ROME!!! HOW did it get there (Hint, it always was there)?
And there you have a paradox; remove the Temple from Rome and you try to void 2 Thess. 2 v 10; remove the Anti-christ from Rome you you do the same; remove both from Rome and you throw millions of protestants into a tizzy fit.
Revelation 18 v 23 ACCURATELY, SUCCINCTLY, AND DEFINITIVELY establishes that where Jesus was once heard is no longer…..do you wish to try to void THIS verse as well?

You can keep digging yourself a deeper pit, “enjoying” the paradox I have illustrated to you or you can take the lifeline I am throwing you, and I will help you climb out of the pit…..it’s your choice.

Guns and Rosaries: Such a simple, yet brilliant and utterly coherent apologetics comment! How can ANYONE dispute this plain truth?

Then why is the pope not going by the teachings of the Bible and Christ? I’ll keep my Bible, thank you. The Jews gave the world the Bible. You had better read yours, Revelation is a good starting point. I’m sure there are Christians in the Catholic Church, but the pope ain’t one of them.

        • lizk

you need to study Daniel and Revelation.and really ask God to give you wisdom.Daniel described the world empires. Even the Catholic church admits what they did, yet people close their eyes. If people wanted to know the truth, they would seek God with their whole mind. The bible is truth and it was the reformers that gave us the bible because the church hid the bible from people because they did not want them to know the truth.

God has a way of working around issues like a fallen apostle and a false church. Satan has tried to destroy and block God’s plan from the BEGINNING! The Bible survived despite the RCC falling into corruption and deception over the centuries. And I know you don’t want to hear it, but why the heck do you think God raised up men to speak out against the RCC? Many paid with their lives because the “church” did not want the truth known. Ignorance is ALWAYS the key to control and as long as the people were ignorant of the word, the church had control and kept them in submission. God still works through imperfect people, but what we are talking about here is more than imperfection in Pope Francis, it is about a man who is an apostate and a fake. If you do a genuine study of the RCC through the ages, some of the activities that went on with the popes, bishops, priests, etc., were breathtakingly evil. How can we be the light of the world when the RCC is living in darkness, not only of scripture, but of character? It is impossible.

The Catholic Church is luciferian, not infallible nor can it claim anything else to be infallible. God Himself declared his Word, truth, inerrant. He doesn’t need the pedophile?charlatans of the Vatican supporting His message. The Catholic Church has been gnostic and counterfeit from its inception. But you prefer the lies. 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12.

        • CATRYNA49

Sorry to say the Catholic Church burned Bibles and murdered those who wished to print, distribute and read it. As a child in Catholism, I was chastised for reading and trying to understand the Bible; even punished by the priests and nuns. I mentally and spiritually left Catholism at age 9, and was finally allowed to leave, physically, at age 11. Actions speak louder than words. I can honestly say that i have found the true worship of God and not “a religion!”

          • Guns N Rosaries

If you were in the Church before 1965, you were caught in the tail-end of the watering down and destruction of Christian instruction in the faith, as the infiltration of the visible structures and hierarchy of the Catholic Church was long underway before you came along.
If you joined it after the 2nd Vatican Council, you then witnessed the complete overthrow of the hierarchy and the implementation of the counter-church which was prophesied to arise at the beginning of the Last Days.

You did well to exit this counter-church, but that does not mean that the Catholic Church that is present in a remnant of traditional Catholics is non-Christian; at the very least you were given the grace to exit this whore sect. But you have lapsed further into error be claiming to have found “true worship” and a rejection of true religion.

You need to read Exodus again; God did not punish the Egyptians for enslaving the Jews…..He punished them because they would not also the Jews to worship Him on the day He commanded. There were minor rituals at the time which may or may not constitute religion, but after the Egyptians were destroyed the Jews WERE THEN given their instruction (through Moses) in the practice of the imperfect Old Covenant religion, as a precursor to the perfect New Covenant system.

If you remain as you are, you displease God and will not see Him in the face when you leave this temporal realm.

Most Holy Family Monastery dot com can plainly illustrate the necessity of the Catholic Faith of Jesus Christ for salvation.

And what of Matthew 5 v 14? What of the fact that in the Book of the Apocalypse, St. John tells us of the Whore of Babylon ONLY AFTER the Seals are opened, the Trumpets are sounded, the Vials are poured out, the Woes have passed, the Witnesses have COME AND GONE, and Rome has been leveled at least once…….ONLY NOW does St. John tell us of the Whore……..and WHERE is he SHOWN this vision…….IN A DESERT………and where is the remnant removed to in Revelation 12 v 14……TO THE DESERT. My point is that we are ONLY to understand who and what the Whore is during the END OF DAYS period or just prior to…..which would logically suggest, or rather, dictate, that it is IMPOSSIBLE for the Whore to have been in existence for 2000 years, not to mention the fact that Revelation 18 v 23 speaks again to the contrary…..you really need re-examine your entire set of thought processes in regards to matters of faith.

        • Cindy Dalton

The Roman Catholic Church did not exist until AD 325 at the Council of Nicaea when Roman Emperor Constantine established it and appointed himself as its head. Every Bible scholar knows that the true church of God has only one Head – Jesus Christ.

          • Linda

You’ve been drinking the Kool-Aid, Cindy.

Constantine didn’t even become a Christian until he was on his deathbed. I suggest your actually read some history books about Constantine and Christianity. He merely made Christianity legal, and had no involvement whatsoever in the Church, other than protecting it from persecution. There’s plenteous secular history that confirms this fact. You might want to actually study the whole Constantine issue, rather than regurgitate what your anti-Catholic pastors spew from their pulpits.

Jesus knew that there could not be a church that would fill every continent on the planet, a church of billions of believers, without some kind of organizational structure. Every single company has a CEO and a board of directors. Every school has a principal, every organization has a president, every country has a prime minister or a president, every town has a mayor and a city council. Jesus (being God) knew that there must be structure and organization in His Church. Why, I’ll bet whatever church you belong to has a pastor, right? Is your pastor not the “head” of your congregation?

Yes, the Catholic Church knows Jesus is the Head, but He has appointed earthly leaders to preach His own Gospel and feed the faithful–and that is the Pope, the Bishops and the priests.

“Peter, do you love Me?…Feed My lambs.”
“Peter, do you love Me?…Feed My sheep.”
“Peter, do you love Me?…Tend My sheep.”

You see, Cindy, Jesus here, and elsewhere in Scripture, made Peter and his successors, the Popes, the “prime ministers” of His Church on earth. Jesus told His apostles: “Whoever hears you, hears Me”. If you rely on your argument, then nobody should listen to the apostles, because only Jesus is the Head of the Church.

          • Guns N Rosaries

And how exactly did the Holy Ghost allow THAT to happen?

            And what of Matthew 5 v 14?

Jesus wasn’t speaking to the masses of people when He said what He said; He was speaking of the Apostles as the light of the world, and that THEY and/or the Church are a city shining on a mountain that cannot be hid. To believe your wild claim would be to disbelieve the words of Jesus Christ……it is far easier to disbelieve you.

      • Guns N Rosaries

Francis is an Anti-pope, as were the 5 claimants to the Papacy before him; during this same period, the Catholic Church ceased to exist visibly in the world and has “fled back to the catacombs.”
The Catholic Church cannot be the Harlot, simply for the reason that Jesus said His yoke and burden were sweet and light (Matthew 11 vs 28-30); thus it is repugnant to reason and faith to believe Jesus would say this, and then turn around and saddle the world for 2000 years with a Harlot. No, the Harlot is an End-of-Days manifestation, which is why St. John tells us he is seeing it in a desert setting as he states in Rev. 17 v 3, and the desert period also only appears in this Book in Rev. 12 v 14. And if you notice in Matthew 24, as Jesus speaks in the context of the consummation of the world, He does not mention the Harlot at all…..He only speaks of the signs surrounding the end. If it was truly necessary to be on guard against a Harlot for 2000 years, Jesus at least would have told us about it.

        • Kathy Sisk

This is exactly what Satan wants…DIVISION. I believe religion divides us believers to the point that it confuses everyone particularly the unsaved. If we who all believe Jesus is the ONLY way to salvation..to eternal life with God ( I do), I believe God wants us to come together and fight the good fight of faith. A house divided can not stand…That is why our country is in a mess because its divided…religion is a mess because its divided….marriages are broken because its divided….The bible tells us not to argue over words…”Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the ruin of the hearers” (2Tim 2:14) And in Titus 3:9 “But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless.” I know catholics believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior as do Protestants, and I who don’t belong to a particular denomination but profess to be a Born Again believer…. that is the main point we can agree on (I hope), if we can focus on Jesus as the only way to God…. to eternal life with Him and come together and love each other unconditionally as God commands us to, then all these doctrine issues will sort itself out. Its imperative we read the Bible it gives us history (old testament) God’s instructions (new testament) and forewarns us what is to come (revelations)….for us Christians (believers in Jesus) any other book should not be considered… Revelation 22:19 And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll. God bless you all!!

          • Guns N Rosaries

Religion is an expression of worship of the true God, as well as unity of faith. See Exodus as far as why God punished Egypt….it wasn’t because the Jews were slaves, but because Pharoah refused to let the Jews worship Him on the Day He commanded them to worship Him. The Old Covenant system included an imperfect form of worship; the New Covenant system contains the perfect form of worship.
And just so you know, women are forbidden from teaching on matters of faith, according to St. Paul. Jesus said to hear the Church (Matthew 18 v 17) upon pain of damnation, because the Church is the pillar and the ground of truth (1 Timothy 3 v 15), and this Church can only be heard through the voice of St. Peter and his legitimate successors (Luke 22 v 32).
That being said, Rome is no longer Catholic, and will soon complete its transmogrification into the Whore of Babylon.

Why is Catholicism a non-Christian religion?

      • Santo Salvo

It easy to notice that. Catholicism created a lot of false teachings that are not found in scriptures, acting exaclty as the pharisees did. Its
teachings make the people go away from the true God and True salvation, that is Jesus Christ, by promoting the worship of false gods, like Mary and a salvation by works, that is totally against the gospels teachings.

        • gizmo23

Christians make up stuff that is not in the Bible all the time

          • Santo Salvo

            For example?

          • gizmo23

The rapture, moses parting the sea, it didn’t rain before Noah, they was no death before adam sinned, there was a high pressure dome that covered the Earth with a giant water shield.

          • Santo Salvo

The rapture = Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up – together with
them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be
with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:17) The problem is, it will be before or after the great tribulation?

moses parting the sea – to him who divided the Red Sea in two,
for his steadfast love endures forever; (Psalm 136:13)

it didn’t rain before Noah – That is a possibility extracted from the bible, but the truth is that we do not know for sure. It is only a theory.

they was no death before adam sinned – Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned (Romans 5:12)

there was a high pressure dome that covered the Earth with a giant water shield – That is a theory not a doctrine.

But exists a great difference between this theories, and the roman teaching. Roman teaching make people go away from the only true salvation that is Jesus Christ, they teach people to ask for salvation in other gods, like Mary, and they teach idolatry of “saints”, in other words as says Paul:

For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw—
            each
one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because
it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work
            each one has done.
If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward.
If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire. (1 Cor 3:11-15)

          • gizmo23

The rapture wasn’t a part of Christianity until about 1850
The Bible says a strong wind parted the sea at night
No evidence it was rainless before Noah
Spiritual death to men nothing about the death of animals
Water dome, if I can speculate about that why not other things not in the Bible?

          • Santo Salvo

the rapure could be a new word, but its concepts was in the christianity since it beginnings, the question is, it will be before or after the great tribulation? When will Jesus come to rescue the church? The discussion is that. I believe that Christ will come once a second time and judge the world.

“The Bible says a strong wind parted the sea at night” – The bible says both things, I put a versicle for you, if that is not enough I could never convince you that God divided the red sea as says the psalmist.

“No evidence it was rainless before Noah” – As I said, theory, not doctrine.

“Spiritual death to men nothing about the death of animals” – Both deaths, spiritual and physical – And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that
is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit.
You shall have them for food. And
to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to
everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of
life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. (Genesis 1:29-30)

It is easy to perceive that death was initially in the creation: Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the
man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he
reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live
            forever—” (Genesis 3:22)

The last enemy to be destroyed is death. (1 Cor 15:26)

The problem is not speculations, the problem is the foundation of salvation, if you salvation is not in Christ, so you could not be considered Christian, I put it very clear what is the problem of Roman church, that is idolatry.

          • gizmo23

God parted the sea not Moses.

God created the rainbow, which is light passing through the moisture in the air. This was not present because the ecosystem on the earth did not include rain. There were also no seasons on the land mass which humankind inhabited. The seasons were created when God “revamped” the ecosystem to cause it to flood the entire land mass at that time. This land mass was broken up into was we now recognize as the continents.

          • Santo Salvo

“Catholic Church” means universal Church. Roman Catholic Church was not the first church.

          • Joseph Essien-Obot

Salvo, the Catholic Church has always been the Catholic Church. The word “Roman” was never used until Protestantism invented it. Don’t get idea that it is the name of the Church when you attach the word “Roman” to it.

          • Linda

Actually, the Catholic Church is the ONLY Church Jesus intended to institute. It has the Four Marks of authenticity: One (the practices and doctrines are the same everywhere; all Catholics believe exactly the same thing) holy (founded by Jesus Christ), catholic (universal), and apostolic (the Church can be traced back century by century–unbroken line of papal succession–right back to the Apostles, chosen by Jesus). Simple history.

          • Bob Johnson

ONLY? Check out the Coptic Church established by Mark, an apostle, in 42 AD.

          • annie

There are catholics and there are Christians. Can’t be both. Simple.

          • jan

The “first” church commonly referred to as the “Early Church”, looked a lot like Judaism. The followers of Christ were simply called, Christians. The term “catholic” merely means universal or whole and was not commonly used to describe Christianity until the second century. The Catholic church we are familiar with today is the very one upheld and manipulated by Constantine and Rome in the fourth century. This is when the church began to be referred to as the Catholic church.

          • Joseph Essien-Obot

If Constantine upheld and manipulated the the Catholic Church, why is it not Arian? Oh dear, you never knew Constantine preferred Arianism and wasn’t even a member of the Church by baptism until his deathbed. His son, Constantine II, was even more brutal at imposing it. Well, apparently the Church he “upheld and manipulated” ended up unmanipulated! How’s that?

Have you ever asked yourself why the Church ended up being referred to as “Universal”? Naah! Well, something started occurring right from the time of Paul. You see Paul tells us something, “For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not mere men? What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed.” When the Church starts to go in directions like these, how could one know the full Church? It came to be known by the word “Whole”, “Universal”, “Catholic”. You see, the Truth of the Christian faith only thrives in the universality of the Church. In Acts 15, how would the Church come to determine the True path of faith? As a whole, sitting in council, and coming to conclusions. Even you abide by that today. Ignatius of Antioch called the Church Catholic in about 108AD, that tells a lot.

Your words are false, as is your heart. By definition, I’m not actually a fundamentalist, but you’ll use false labels and believe whatever lie pops into your head.

          • Valri

What you are preaching are lies and hate. The Catholic Church was around for nearly 2000 years before your hate cult masquerading as Christisnity showed up. What’s more, everything I say is easily verifiable with simple history texts. As well as the DICTIONARY.

          • FoJC_Forever

You’re simply another, or the same under a different username, voice which cries your Lie loud and long. Only the foolish will believe you and receive your lies. Those who know Jesus will continue their walk with the LORD, never accepting or following paganistic, catholic doctrines.

            Follow Jesus, find Truth.

          • Valri

You utterly fail to comprehend Catholic practices. Your words demonstrate over and over that you are speaking from a position of hatred and ignorance and you make no effort to understand. In short you are not qualified to speak on this subject and people would do well to chalk up your words as the rantings of an angry and hateful zealot.

          • Joseph Essien-Obot

Catholics ARE Christians. In fact, they are the oldest Christians in history. St. Ignatius of Antioch in the year 110AD mentions them in a letter on his way to martyrdom and he didn’t even need to explain what it was. As a disciple of John the beloved apostle he should have known better than to die as one.

          • FoJC_Forever

No, Catholics have never been Christians. They have always been apostate. Pagans pretending to be Christian, born of the ancient pagan goddesses (demons) worshiped by pagan cultures.

Your information is incorrect. You are following a Lie.

          • Joseph Essien-Obot

Well, my dear, saying it over and over again will not make your lie Truth. If you know anything of our Christian heritage, those whose witness extends the faith in Christ at the very beginnings you won’t be saying this nonsense. I don’t know which demon is feeding you this crap but a simple internet search for Ignatius, bishop of Antioch you will find letters he wrote in the day. In every age Christians wrote, searching for “Church Fathers” will expose you to even more writings of our predecessors closer to the time of the Apostles and Christ himself. But if you prefer to worship the demonic message you are fed or prefer to indulge in, well, that’s your prerogative.

          • FoJC_Forever

Your condescending is indicative of your arrogant and self important heart. You spin words and ideas like your father, the Devil.

You are following a Lie. Maybe one day you will see this Lie and turn from it, but that hasn’t been revealed to me. So, at this point, you’re bound for Eternal Damnation, all the while thinking you know God.

You have information, not Truth. Information puffs up – inflates ones mind with nothingness. Truth, which is born from Love, builds people up in the LORD. Your information just confuses people who don’t want to seek the Truth, thus keeping them in the delusion of false religion.

            Follow Jesus, find Truth.

          • jan

I’m sorry, but you do not have a monopoly on that bit of information about Constantine. His pagan practices are precisely what aided his perversion of the practices of the Church. When he removed the seat of the emperor to the city of Constantinople, he effectively left Rome open to papal rule. This was a nice boost to the Roman Catholic church’s emergence as the super-power of the day. Constantine used the increasing popularity and past persecution of Christianity to manipulate pagans and Christians alike, this is common knowledge, not requiring further explanation.

You have mistakenly suggested that I said the Church may have but one leader among men (Paul, Apollos). I am well aware of 1Corinthians and yet, try as I might, I cannot rationalize your statements regardless of how many times I read it. Many teachers were sent among the people and they were instructed by Paul to not esteem one more than the other. Actually, that sounds more like a Catholic doctrine, eh? Furthermore, “The Truth of the Christian faith only thrives in the universality of the Church”. What? That has paganism written all over it. The Christian Church thrives only in the light of Christ my friend. It’s clear to me that you are interested in Truth, I will pray that you never stop seeking and are always guided by the Holy Spirit.

          • Joseph Essien-Obot

Common knowledge indeed. You are right, Constantine was a pagan even with the toleration of Christianity. However, the pope had no civil
authority in Constantine’s Rome so what you’re saying is complete
nonsense. I know of one manipulation Constantine was involved in and
that was with Arianism, of ultimate importance to Christianity, and he
failed. Now, tell me what else he did that can be verified in history
that he manipulated into Christian belief. When you do that and I can
verify it or them then I’ll concede.

With the Paul and Apollos comment I mistook nothing. Paul was addressing something, the build of a personal following. In other words, this threat to the unity of the Church is a normal human tension that has always existed. This came to a head with judaizing Christians. How did the Christian community establish and propagate the message of Christ? Holding a Council of course. Had there been no Council how would the Christian community know Christ? Through every leader’s bias. And what would Christ look like? Everything! So, you see, without unity in the Christian community Christ cannot be known. Concluding with, “The Christian Church thrives only in the light of Christ my friend”, will have no sense. The “light of Christ” seemed very different to different people even in the very early Church and was only set forth in Jerusalem but its unity.

When outsiders look at Christianity today they see a myriad of ideas that end up looking like so many different people instead of one, the Christ himself.

          • FoJC_Forever

No, the first Apostles led the first Christian Church, which was founded by Jesus through the Holy Spirit.

Catholics are some the false ones which Jesus and the first Apostles warned were coming.

            Follow Jesus, find Truth.

          • jafo

No the apostals lead Jewish believers. The gospel to the Gentiles. Was given to Paul. Peter did not preach to Gentiles on Pentecost but to Jews. What did He say. Believe in Him you killed and be baptisized. Salvation for the Jew at that time was to believe Jesus was the Messiha and be baptisized. When Paul came on the scene the gospel changed. To believe that He died in accordance with scripture and ask for forgiveness.

          • FoJC_Forever

No. Paul was one of the first Apostles. There were more than eleven (one had fallen away). The Apostolic gifting has never been removed, like all of God’s giftings, it is imparted by the Holy Spirit as He wills.

There were Gentiles among those in Jerusalem who also heard the Gospel. There are other accounts of Gentiles receiving the Gospel through the first Jewish Believers. The first Apostles resided over the Church, the Body of Christ, and that line has not been broken. Catholicism is paganism masquerading as Christianity, and always has been.

The Gospel has never changed. Jesus is the Word of God made flesh, and He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Paul did not preach a different Gospel, but warned about those who do preach a different one that was given to the first Believers. We are not in a different “dispensation”. Your last two sentences are a complete fabrication born from false tradition.

            Follow Jesus, find Truth.

“And God will judge all men according to their works” (Revelation)

“When I was hungry, you gave Me to eat…when I was thirsty, you gave Me to drink…in prison and you visited Me…” etc.

“”Lord, when did we see You hungry…or thirsty…or in prison…”etc

“As often as you did it to the least of My brethern, you did it to Me”.

And those who DID acts of mercy went to Heaven. Those who DID NOT do acts of mercy went to Hell. If you expect to go to Heaven, you must be in the state of grace, a do selfless acts of mercy and charity for your fellow man!

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’, will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but those who DO My will “

        • Valri

Catholics are not Bible-only Christians. That came along after the Reformation. So why is it you fundamentalists keep expecting everything to be found in scripture? That’s YOUR made-up rule. Not anyone else’s.

      • jan

CHRISTians put Christ at the center of their worship. He does not share
that position with a co-redemptrix (Mary). True Christians, mindfully
and deliberately, adhere to the teachings of Christ as revealed in
scripture, which, if you own a Bible, thank a Protestant for that
        privilege.

        Sola Fide, by faith alone.
        Sola Scriptura, by Scripture alone.
        Solus Christus, through Christ alone.
        Sola Gratia, by grace alone.
Soli Deo Gloria, glory to God alone.

        These
“Five Solas” are Protestant principles that evidence the divide between
sound, Christ-centered doctrine and that of the Catholic church. There
is no “other” way to salvation, none. To tell a person that there is
another way is to deprive them of the opportunity to come to Christ,
essentially damning them to hell. Does that sound Christ-like to you? So, what damage has this pope done
when you view his speech through a Biblical lens? This is no small
issue, we are talking about eternity here. Noah’s flood, Moses and the
sea, rain, dead animals, none of that has anything to do with salvation.
        Salvation is at stake:

        John 14:6
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

        • Valri

The pope is the leader of the Catholic church. That’s all. He doesn’t lead people AWAY from Christianity, he’s a representative of it. You misunderstand the role of Mary within the church.
The five Solas are man made. And they are unbiblical as well.
Sola scriptura is the biggest joke of all. The original church looked to church teachings, sacred traditions AND scripture, and you fundamentalists threw the first two in the garbage calling them “man made” as though the Bible is not ALSO man-made. On whose authority did you throw them away?

          • jan

Thank you Valri, you have done an excellent job of proving my point, Catholics are not Christians. “Sola Scriptua is the biggest joke of all”, nice. I’m guessing that the other four are pretty funny to you too. If the pope is telling people that there is an alternative path through another (g)od, he is blatantly contradicting scripture. THAT is the equivalent of leading people away from Christ and you are party to that; by association, you too are guilty. Read your Bible, every question you have can be answered by the reading of scripture. The Word of God is sufficient. We need not go to man for our answers, this is how one arrives at paganism. Pray for revelation knowledge and be blessed with truth. Good day.

          • Valri

Thank YOU Jan, for showing what an absolute house of cards your belief system really is. Care to point out where these 5 solas are in your Bible? You know, the Bible that you insist is all we need? I’d like to know when the Pope told people there was an “alternate” path. Meeting other people halfway in the name of peace and reconciliation and common ground is just too disgusting a concept for you, is that the problem?

          • jan

Valri, I will not sit here and read the Bible to someone who prefers the traditions of man over God breathed scripture, it would have little effect. If you are familiar with scripture at all, you will know how God feels about the traditions of man. You can find out by reading it in both the Old and New Testaments.
As for your suggestion that there is a halfway to salvation, we both know this is false. So yes, I do think that “meeting other people halfway in the name of peace and reconciliation and common ground is just too disgusting a concept”. In fact, I think it is the hatred of Satan on display. So yes, I find it to be a disgusting concept. I would much prefer to meet them at the foot of the cross, because we are not saved by peace, by love, by common ground; we are saved only by the blood of Christ. To diminish that truth is the worst form of hatred I can fathom. Offering someone temporal comfort or peace at the cost of their salvation is to despise them to the point that you would be content watching them burn in the eternal flames of hell. To propose that they are “all children of God” right where they are is a lie from the devil himself and is keeping them from the truth. Not everyone is a child of God, sadly, many are children of the god of this world (Satan) and are condemned as such unless and until they repent and put their trust in Jesus. There simply is no “middle ground”. Keeping them in their comfort zone is destroying them one by one, and that is heartbreaking.
Of course the Lord loves everyone, but not all are His children who can look forward to becoming citizens of His kingdom. To truly love someone is to expose the lies that are leading then to damnation through their false gods. Lead them instead, to salvation through Jesus Christ, who made it clear:“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Teaching anything less than this is pure hatred. Please, reread this article closely, pay attention to what is being said by your pope and pray about it to see if this is truly the will of God.
Valri, be willing to accept the truth when it is revealed to you, even if it challenges your worldview. I’ll be praying for you and believing that truth will prevail. May God bless you with wisdom and understanding.

          • Valri

Jan, with all respect, you are not qualified to be telling other people about the “truth” of anything. Your fundamentalist denomination is, what, maybe 30 years old? If I wanted to learn about Christianity, why would I learn it from a 100 year old denomination when I could learn the real thing from a denomination that’s been around nearly 2 millennia?

In point of fact, your hatred of Catholics and misinformation about their practices identifies you as a false Christian. When I was a child, I asked my mother what the difference was between Protestants and Catholics (us). She responded that we were all Christians but just did things a little differently. Contrast that very kind explanation with your demonizing style.

As for the Bible, do you not realize that it is every bit as “man made” as the church teachings and sacred traditions you are rejecting? If you think the “God breathed” words in the Bible can’t change over time, tell me why we have so many translations? And how many times have they been retranslated, mistranslated, or even flat-out removed (since you took it upon yourselves to remove 7 whole books from the original Bible)?

I never said there was a halfway to salvation. The pope isn’t looking to meet with other faiths to strongarm them into believing what he believes. Read the story again. You CAN have a meeting of the minds with people of other faiths and come to certain agreements and for some reason you find that “disgusting” and “satanic”. I think most reasonable people would disagree. This again points back to your fundamentalist upbringing – harsh, rigid, uninformed and unwilling to make ANY kind of compromise because you have been taught you are right and everyone else is wrong.

You would do well to heed the pope’s advice in this instance, because he is promoting peace.

          • jan

Listen Valri, you have grossly distorted what I have said and you know it. I have not demonized you or other Catholics for that matter. I will repeat, however, that it is the work of the devil to teach that a person who is without Christ can simply find “another path to the same God”. I do not hate people, I love them to the point of being willing to have the tough conversations with them about the errancy of placing their faith in any god but the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I believe that many Catholics are saved by the blood of Jesus and I look forward to the day that we can stand side-by-side in God’s kingdom and proclaim together, “Jesus is Lord!”
I am disappointed that you dare to presume to know my “qualifications” or “upbringing”. You have done an excellent job of making baseless accusations which I am not inclined to answer. You have no idea who I am, nor do you know my life experiences both in the material and spiritual. You do not know my work for the Kingdom or what I have been called to and through. You, Valri, need to take a long, hard look at how you have represented yourself in your comments on this article. I have read many of you comments and replies to various individuals, and you do not speak with love for anyone or anything other than the self-indulgence of hearing yourself talk. You have been rude, insulting, trite, and self-righteous in your display of vanity. I would suggest that you repent and seek God before you post a single sentence more.
I will pray in earnest and with sincerity that the Light of Jesus Christ shines into your inner-most parts.

Reply as you will, but I am no longer contributing to this conversation because I believe that it has become a stumbling block to you.

          • Valri

Give me a break Jan, you think you’re the first anti-Catholic I’ve talked to? You people never change your stories at all, it’s traditions of men this and idolatry that, all you know is what you’ve been told by other anti-Catholics. I don’t know why it’s so hard for you to let people worship God according to their own rules and methods, and in the case of Catholics they’ve been doing it far longer than anyone else who currently calls themselves “Christian”. The way you’ve come across, you are very transparent in your antipathy towards Catholics that if you’re NOT a fundamentalist, you’re a Jehovah’s Witness or an SDA. I’m calling that one right now.
And what is it exactly that the pope has done here that’s so terrible? Suggest that a few people of different faiths get together and try to find some areas where they agree rather than bicker over the areas where they don’t agree. I’d really like to know why that’s so terrible.

How do you know that Catholics aren’t following the true path and you are not

      • Becky

By testing everything with the word of God.

1 Thes 5:21 Test all things; hold fast what is good.

Acts 17:11 These were more fair-minded than those in
Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched
the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good
and acceptable and perfect will of God.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Matthew 4:4 It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

        • gogo0

none of that contradicts catholic teaching, do you have any examples of what does?

          • fanofjesus

Hi! If you are truly concerned about properly following Jesus Christ as He would want you to, rather than doggedly sticking to your religion, you would do well to ask Him to guide you while you read the books of Romans, Galatians, Ephesians, and Hebrews. Ask Him to give you understanding of these teachings, which were given directly by the apostles of Jesus Christ.
Then think about some of the catholic doctrines that you know of and judge for yourself how they line up with scripture.

          • jan

We can know the mind of God by the Holy Spirit. It is a gift from God Himself.

            1 Corinthians 2:10-16
10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. 14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for,
“Who has known the mind of the Lord
            so as to instruct him?”
But we have the mind of Christ.

You see, with the Holy Spirit in us, we can have the mind of God.

To answer your previous question, the path of a true Christian follows the teachings of Christ alone rather than the traditions of men. It’s simple to locate proof in scripture that the Lord hates the traditions of man. The Catholic church is rife with such traditions. If you are sincerely seeking the truth about these things, please pray and read your Bible. Read articles that contrast the two faiths and I will be in agreement with you that the truth will be revealed in your inner being by the Holy Spirit. These are the days that we must have the blessed assurance that we are saved by the finished work of Christ on the cross. I pray that you obtain that assurance by seeking Him and repenting of all sin in your life so that you may be called a child of God forever. Jesus did all that needed to be done, your part is simply to trust in Him and turn from sin. God bless you.

Hahaha, Heidi! It’s the Catholic Church who decided which of the hundreds and hundreds of books floating around in the first 2 centuries after the Ascension, were infallible, and incorporated them into what is now known as the Bible–at the beginning of the 4th century. That’s simple history! Every Protestant scholar knows that.

The Catholic Church gave the world the Bible! So you must put a lot of trust in the Church if you believe the Bible!

Can you tell me how the Holy Spirit wrote each page, and what He did with the first Bible? Did He drop it from Heaven through the clouds and it landed in some evangelical church’s pastor’s hands?

God is sovereign and in control of every molecule of His creation and most importantly, His Word which is Him.

            John
1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

            Do you not comprehend?

            Psalm
12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
12:7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

            FOREVER!

          • Bob Johnson

“God is sovereign and in control of every molecule of His creation and most importantly, His Word which is Him.”

So you do not accept “free will”? People are the way they are because God is “in control of every molecule of His creation”?

          • Amos Moses

You have free will, and God does what he wants. You have limits to your free will. You cannot leap tall buildings with a single bound and many other things.

“People are the way they are because God is “in control of every molecule of His creation”?”

Absolutely. God’s sovereignty is the attribute that unites all His other attributes. You have no free will to be more sovereign than God and to act outside of His plan and creation. If not, then we are more sovereign than He is and then we are God, not Him.

            We are not.

          • Bob Johnson

“You have free will, and God does what he wants.”

Either God is omnipotent or we have free will. You can not have it both ways.

          • Amos Moses

            Omnipotent – adjective
            1.
almighty or infinite in power, as God.
            2.
having very great or unlimited authority or power.

This in no way conflicts with Gods sovereignty. Nor free will and in case you failed to take notice, your free will is limited. You have no free will to leap tall buildings at a single bound, Superman.

Leaping tall buildings is not a case of free will because you and I can not make a different choice. Free will is when a person can choose what thought or action they will take. Adam and Eve could have chosen differently. Yet this conflicts with an all knowing, omnipotent God – someone who has a Master Plan and has unlimited authority and power.

          • Amos Moses

“Yet this conflicts with an all knowing, omnipotent God – someone who has a Master Plan and has unlimited authority and power.”

No, sorry, it does not. He is also omniscient, has all knowledge of all things you and every other person would make, could make, will make and designed a creation to account for all that in His plan.

But feel free to try again.

          • Bob Johnson

Omniscient and omnipotent, so if He knows in advance all the choices you and I will make then how is it we have free will to make a different choice?

          • Amos Moses

            Amazing is it not.

          • Bob Johnson

And why the non-cononical books mentioned in the Bible were rejected by the Catholic Church centuries later?

          • Linda

If you’re referring to the 7 books that are STILL in “Catholic” bibles, those were rejected in the 16th century by Martin Luther, because he deemed them to be “too Catholic”. Luther also planned on removing Revelation, and the Epistle of James, calling that book “that damn Catholic epistle “.

The 72 books canonized by the only Church which existed until the 16th century — the Catholic Church — were never disputed until Luther came along, and all 72 books of the Bible are still retained exactly as they were in the 4th century, when deemed infallible by the Catholic Church, under the authority of the Pope and the Magisterium, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

          • Bob Johnson

Actually, I was referring to your 4th century selection which choose those 72 books and rejected the Gospel of Thomas and many other books on the based of popular vote.

          • Linda

Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would guide the Church, and told the Apostles (Cephas, the first Pope, and the rest of the apostles, the first bishops… and their successors) “Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven.”

so catholics don’t pray to images? or saint? yes they do. Do catholics celebrate christmas and new years even though it is a pagan holiday? yes they do.

          • Valri

They might pray in front of an image, but that isn’t praying TO the image, but to what the image represents (God). Praying to saints? No, they ask the saint to pray for them, which is called intercessory prayer and is no different than asking a friend or family member to pray for you.
Christmas is a pagan holiday eh? I think even most of your fellow Christians here aren’t going to agree with you on that one.

          • truth

Many Catholics do in fact pray directly to saints and/or Mary, asking them for help – instead of asking the saints and/or Mary to intercede with God for help. Whatever the case, whether a saint or Mary is beingprayed to, or asked to pray, neither practice has any biblical basis.

In harmony with the foregoing, God alone is called the “Hearer of prayer.” (Psalm 65:2) Moreover, as the Almighty, he alone has the authority, knowledge, and power to answer any legitimate request sought through prayer. (Job 33:4) Even Jesus Christ, by his own admission, has limitations. (Matthew 20:23; 24:36) That said, however, Jesus Christ has been given great authority, including the responsibility of serving as mankind’s Intercessor.

And about Christmas, yes it is pagan. Do you even know the origin of Christmas?

          • Valri

“whether a saint or Mary is beingprayed to, or asked to pray, neither practice has any biblical basis.”
Yes, and Catholics aren’t Bible-only Christians like you are, so why are you expecting them to play by your rules? They also have church teachings (the magisterium) and sacred tradition. If the prayer ultimately is going to God, why does it matter who delivers it?
I’ve heard the Saturnalia crap. That’s what it is, crap. Since I was 5 years old I knew that Christmas was about the birth of Jesus Christ. It doesn’t matter that Christ wasn’t born on December 25, the point is the celebration of His birth. The fact that it coincides with some pagan holiday or other is irrelevant. If you didn’t even know what Saturnalia was, how could you be celebrating it? Some things are just common sense.

          • truth

In the Bible, the Greek word rendered “saint” in some versions means “holy one.” However, there is no mention in the Bible of any faithful worshipper of God praying to a “saint.” Why is that? The New Catholic Encyclopedia states that it was only “by the 3rd century [that] the efficacy of intercession of the saints was clearly recognized.” That was some 200 years after Christ died. The teaching, therefore, did not originate with Jesus and the inspired Bible writers who documented his ministry. The reason?

The Bible consistently teaches that we should pray only to God, doing so in the name of Jesus Christ. “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life,” Jesus said. “No one can come to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6, Catholic Jerusalem Bible) Those unambiguous words harmonize with Jesus’ teaching recorded at Matthew 6:9-13. While explaining the subject of prayer, Jesus said to his followers: “You must pray, then, this way: Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. . . .” (Matthew 6:9) Clearly, our heavenly Father is the only one to whom we should address our prayers. This truth rests on a fundamental Bible principle.

          • Valri

“there is no mention in the Bible of any faithful worshipper of God praying to a “saint.”

A couple problems here, first of all this is called an argument from silence and it’s a logical fallacy. You cannot use the fact that something is not mentioned in the Bible to say that it’s forbidden, that makes no sense. Is your car in the Bible? Is your computer? As a matter of fact, the word “BIBLE” isn’t even in the Bible. Second problem, even if the Bible’s silence WAS a reason to disapprove, it wouldn’t matter because Catholics are not “Bible-only” Christians. As I said before, just because YOU are, don’t expect other Christians, especially the older and more firmly established ones, to play by the rules you make up. You’re Bible-only? That’s great, but Catholics have three things: The Bible, Church teachings (the magisterium) and sacred tradition. And finally, in James 5:16 it says to pray for one another. It doesn’t exclude the saints in heaven from intercessory prayer.

In short, you seem to be holding a rather short-sighted view here.

As for the second part of your message, Catholics don’t violate anything you wrote. Their prayers ultimately go to God.

          • truth

yeah wow. so just the reason in itself that you say catholics are not ‘Bible-only’ Christians even though they claim to have God’s spirit or to follow Christ kinda proves that you don’t. The bible itself says not to go beyond what is written and your stupid magisterium is not even in the bible. The fact that you say that Jesus is God is false. There is no trinity and you fail to see the principle behind God’s word. If your child draws on the wall with a marker and you say ‘don’t draw on the wall with a marker’ but then he draws on the wall with a crayon he is failing to see the principle.

yeah umm anything that predates the bible is not in fact from God. Yeah the Athanasian creed has been around since the 6th Century, After Christ. Any beliefs that were not taught by Christ are not Christian. The Disciples did not celebrate Christmas, his birth date, they didn’t worship or gave way to the idea of the trinity, they didn’t base nor did CHRIST for that matter base any of his teachings in the magisterium soooooo yeah.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

            1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

The foundation of Christianity is the grace of our Lord Jesus, through FAITH, and faith alone (the thief on the cross). The status of afterlife is no consequence being it is now in God’s hands, though it is my personal belief that Christians, upon an earthly death, are put into a deep sleep (all the Christians who crawled out of their graves at the Crucifixion. Would it not be a huge penalty to be in heaven only to be forced back to earth and die again? As with Lazarus?)

Matthew 27:52: “And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose.” Acts 13:36: “For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption.” The words “saw corruption” mean that his body decayed after he was laid in his grave.

          • Guns N Rosaries

Then why did Jesus Christ appoint St. Peter to govern His Church?
Why did Jesus Christ grant the ability to forgive sins to the Apostles?
And why is the term “faith alone” not found in any English translation of the Bible, but is only found in Luther’s German translation?

          • RedPillPlease

Psalms 146:3,4 says, “Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.” Here we see that in death the body returns to the earth, to the dust from which it came, and the person’s thoughts perish. The dead have no thoughts. Isaiah 38:10,11 says, “I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years. I said, I shall not see the Lord, even the Lord, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.” Certainly if a person went to heaven when he died, he would see the Lord, but this verse says that the dead do not see the Lord, nor men. The dead, therefore, are not watching people on earth. They are not watching what is taking place on earth or anywhere else, for they are asleep in their graves and their thoughts have all perished.

Revelation 21:1-3: “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them.”

Sure sounds like someone saw heaven to me.

Absolutely! This occurs after the Second Coming, the Millennium, the Great White Throne Judgment and after Satan is thrown into the Lake of Fire for good. (Rev. 20)

Your passage refers to the beginning of eternity.

And does someone’s “belief” make it truth? I just quoted the truth and showed you where it is found. The “tradition” of going to heaven upon death began as a comfort to the loved ones at funerals. Even Jesus did not go directly to heaven at His own crucifixion.

          • Valri

You quoted the truth? How does that work? You quoted your OPINION, what you have been taught based on a specific Biblical interpretation. EVERY Christian denomination says they alone have the truth – are they ALL right?

          • Valri

All you deserve are the ad hominems, if you think the original Christian church is “apostate”. Read a history book sometime. They were Christians about 2000 years before you were. Maybe you should find a different word since they had it first.

          • RedPillPlease

Catholicism is merely a denomination that misinterprets Jesus words to Peter.

The Scriptures and earliest Christian history know of “churches,” not a church marked by an extra-local hierarchy and a worldwide organization. Those churches were united, cooperative and “catholic,” but they did not have an organization over them. This is why in A.D. 210, 150 years after the apostles, Tertullian was able to say:

Is it likely that so many churches, and they so great, should have gone astray into one and the same faith? Nothing spread among many men results in one and the same result. Error of doctrine in the churches must necessarily have produced various issues. When, however, that which is deposited among many is found to be one and the same, that is not a result of error, but tradition. (Prescription Against Heretics 28)

Tertullian could not have said that if a hierarchy existed that could dictate doctrine to “all the churches.” If such a hierarchy, or a pope, existed, then “so many” and “so great” churches could easily have gone astray into one and the same erroneous faith.

          • RedPillPlease

            It’s not original!

          • RedPillPlease

            Irenaeus (205 AD)

“Suppose there arise a dispute relative to some important question among us. Should we not have recourse to the most ancient churches with which the apostles had constant communication and learn from them what is certain and clear in regard to the question at issue? What would it be like if the apostles had not left us writings themselves? Would it not be necessary to follow the course of tradition which they handed down to those to whom they committed the churches?” (Prescription Against Heretics III:4:1)

Again, it is clear that he is saying that each individual church is preserving truth, while resorting to one another to solve disputes. He does not send them to a hierarchy, a pope, or to any other central authorities, but to multiple authorities united by their common fellowship and common descent from the apostles. Your “first Christian church” is just RCC propaganda.

          • Valri

Christians have disputes all the time. And you fundamentalists simply form a brand new denomination every time you have one, which is why you’re like snowflakes – no two are alike. And all of you insist you’re right and the others are wrong.

And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. (Rev 17:1-8)

Steve your passage isn’t referring to the Catholic Church. It is referring to first century Rome and first century Jerusalem. Rome was called Babylon and Jerusalem was the whore of Babylon. First century Rome under Nero had the blood of the saints on their hands. It was in Rome where Peter and Paul were executed.
Jerusalem did whatever Rome wanted which is why the Jewish leaders said at the trial of Christ, “we have no king but Caesar”. God was supposed to be their king but they chose Caesar.
Revelation 17:18 tells us that the woman is a “great city” and Revelation 18 says that this city is called Babylon where merchants bring their cargo. Revelation 18:17 talks about the city burning. Remember, three-fourths of Rome were destroyed by fire during the reign of Nero.
This Protestant charge that the Catholic Church is Babylon is a myth made up by Luther and his followers to justify their leaving the Catholic Church and forming denominations which is contrary to Christ’s prayer that we “all be one”.

It has been 29 years since I had my supernatural encounter with the Holy Spirit. In the beginning I was extremely ignorant of all things spiritual. For a time I too thought love was enough. But eventually found out this is not so. I am an average nobody. I am as a drop in the sea. But if I tried to believe let alone publicly proclaim the message of this Pope the Holy Spirit would beat me senseless. And make no mistake for He has done it to me before for far lessor offences against Christ even in my ignorance. For as scripture tells us, God disciplines his children and if not we are none of his. And in the same way if we possess not the Spirit of Christ (Holy Spirit) we do not belong to Christ. The Pope seems to desire to be the peacemaker believing that a dialogue among the faiths shall produce the “fruits of peace and justice.” I believe such dialogue can only produce the fruit of temporal tolerance. But to many here it will appear to be an effort to begin the process of laying the foundation for the unified one world faith of Revelation.

But according to Pope Francis there is no need for such unification. For the Pope said, “There is only one certainty we have for all. We are all God’s children. We are only seeking and meeting God in different ways.” The ignorant and unsaved idealist I was growing up in the 1970’s to songs such as John Lennon’s “Imagine” would indeed rejoice at such spiritual recognitions. But having encountered the living Christ through His Spirit my heart now shutters. We do the lost peoples of the world no service by reaching out to them in a falsehood of spiritual unity. For this only reinforces their ignorant and misguided beliefs in the many false ways to the many false gods in which they currently believe. To the best of my understanding the official doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church states it to be the Mother Church apart from which their is no salvation. And the Pope is the Vicar or earthly representative of Christ. Most Popes including this one act as nothing more than diplomats or the Secretary of State….the Vatican State.

When will this Pope along with the entire Roman Catholic Church come to the realization and begin the work that Christ has called us Christians to do? To take His Gospel to the four winds of this earth. Obviously this Pope is not a Christian for he has no truth in him as he possesses not the Holy Spirit. For the Holy Spirit would never allow such blasphemy to go unpunished and most severely among someone of such high office. For the Pope as Vicar has betrayed Christ and lied against the Holy Spirit to the whole world. For we are not all Children of God. Only those who have applied the Blood of Christ to the doorposts of their hearts and possess the witness of the indwelling Holy Spirit are the true Children of God. This Pope and the Church he represents now appears beyond reasonable doubt an abomination. And I take no pleasure in coming to this realization. And unlike the video above, I no longer believe in love. I believe, “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son. That whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

Where? Heidi wrote, “In the book of Revelation”. In a rush to comment, you neglected to read what you actually wrote, so you’re not helping Heidi’s understanding of eschatology, which is a little speculative. Do you have something useful to contribute?

        • gizmo23

Yes I do. The hatred and name calling are evil. The Bible doesn’t mention Catholics

        • Valri

Heidi is guessing that the whore of Revelation is the Catholic Church. That’s all. This is a common tack of fundamentalist Christians and there are conspiracy theory books written on the subject like “A Woman Rides the Beast” by Dave Hunt.

          It’s just hateful nonsense.

      • Heidi K.

        Hi gizmo23,
no, I don’t hate Catholics, I want all of them to get saved! Please study Revelation 17 and 18, it’s all about the Roman Catholic church and its destruction during the Great Tribulation. Please look up satanism/occultism in the Vatican and you’ll be shocked.

        • gizmo23

I find nothing in the Bible about Catholics

          • Valri

Neither does anyone else. But why get in the way of a good excuse to hate?

          • gizmo23

Conservative Christians always seem to need a boogeyman

          • Valri

Try telling one that they branched off of Catholicism sometime. Be prepared for a meltdown.

          • Guns N Rosaries

There is no mention of the term “Holy Trinity” either, so what?

    • Valri

That’s a tired old fundie lie.

      • Heidi K.

Study Revelation 17 and 18, it’s all about Roman Catholicism and the destruction of the Vatican. Look up satanism/occultism in the Vatican!

        • Valri

I’ve read it, it has nothing to do with Roman Catholicism which didn’t even exist at the time Revelation was written. It speaks of false religion. And because you’ve been taught by your fundie pastor that Catholics practice false religion, you’ve ascribed the meaning to be about Catholics. It’s disgusting and false.

    • Guns N Rosaries

Revelation 18 v 23: How is it that the voice of the Bride and of the Bridegroom WERE ONCE HEARD WITHIN HER?
St. John ONLY mentions the description of the Whore AFTER the Apocalypse is practically over for all intents and purposes.
And what of 2 Thessalonians 2 v 4? How DID the Temple of God make it’s way to St. Peter’s Basilica with no one knowing of it?

  • micahel porter

whilst i can understand and in some ways approve of the pope reaching out to other religions he is doing God an injustice.
God wont accept anything less than 100% devotion to Him alone.
and to make things even worse is the fact that whilst the pope may have good intentions the Bible says there is a special reward for those who lead a flock astray.
i hope the pope will come to realise this.
but then again with all the idolatry in the RCC it prob seems to the pope doensnt care.
after all he took the title Vicar of Christ from the Holy Spirit

  • Debra50G

Catholics must still not be reading their bibles. They weren’t when I was Catholic and obviously still aren’t.. they wouldn’t put up with this idea if they only knew what it really means!

    • Valri

I read the Bible when I was Catholic and do did every other Catholic I knew. Weekly Bible readings at mass, and Bible studies at the church. Just because Catholics aren’t Bible-only doesn’t mean they are anti-Bible. Maybe they just don’t worship it to the same degree you do…which would be idolatry.

      • Jolanda Tiellemans

I remember there where bibles in my church, when I still went that is.

  • jan mortell

Number one of the ten commandments – THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME so my interpretation of the Popes speech is that we should once more try to enter into conversations with others who believe in a different God that ours is the one true god and that we should try to convert them to our one God, though I must admit I read the article a few times before I understood properly what he was saying.

    • disqus_23FzLxRDKW

You are the only person on this forum who saw the story that way. The Pope stated publicly, “We are all Children of God.” If this were true there would be no necessity to attempt to convert anyone. The Bible makes unquestionably clear that only those who have genuinely accepted Christ Jesus are Children of God. The “Vicar of Christ” doesn’t have a clue what he is talking about. I seriously doubt the man is “saved” himself. Therefore he possess not the Holy Spirit. Which would explain why he doesn’t have a clue what he is talking about.

      • gizmo23

I suppose telling everyone with different faiths to convert are be tortured for all eternity is the way to bring people together.?

        • Santo Salvo

You can alert people that way also. why not? If it is true, why it would be wrong to say to people that their way is a way to hell?

          • gizmo23

Human nature. If someone tells me bad things will happen to me if I don’t believe as them I shut them out.
Isn’t that the same way ISIS in extreme measure tries to convert people?

          • Santo Salvo

if a person is using drugs that will destroy him, and you really love this person, what you would say to him?
Isis is not trying to save people, they are trying to destroy those who do not believe, but true Christians desire everyone to be saved not destroyed.

          • gizmo23

I would tell them to stop but I doubt condemning them to hell would have much impact on them and I couldn’t force them to stop.
I’m sure ISIS believes just as strongly as any Christian that they are trying to save people

          • Santo Salvo

I am trying to make an analogy. How would you try to convince your friend that the drugs will bring destruction upon him?

          • gizmo23

yes I would, but generally that is not what gets addicts to change. It has to come from within them. I have never known an addict that doesn’t realize they are hurting themselves or others.

          • Santo Salvo

But in the end the truth should be said. If you do not say the truth for your friend, so it is very possible that you do not love him. The same is for christians, we could say that a way someone is taking will get them to hell, but we do not need to say that without love, in reality we need to say in love, because is the will of God that we should love our neighbors even our enemies.

          • gizmo23

I think you have it the nail on the head.

          • Santo Salvo

Isis is not trying to save people, I would recomend you a good site to understand ISIS theology: answeringmuslims

          • gizmo23

I am sure ISIS believes want they do is in their God’s name and they are doing good. I shall look at your site mentioned.

  • disqus_23FzLxRDKW

In this polished official “Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network” video presentation the “Vicar of Christ” makes an appeal to the faithful to spread his prayer request for this month. That being for a “sincere dialogue among men and women of different faiths may produce the fruits of peace and justice.” He makes no mention of Christ Jesus nor the salvation of the lost. Again and again and again this Pope has placed social issues above the gospel and salvation. And will someone please tell Catholics that Jesus has not been a baby in over 2,000 years! And that he is now the risen glorified Christ who sits upon a throne to the right of the Father in heaven and now possesses all power and authority over our entire universe! And that his last instruction was to preach his gospel to all the nations.

The “church” that accepted and maintained the change (via Constantine) of God’s seventh day Sabbath to the first day of the week (sunday) is, once again, inviting everyone to follow after it. It has fooled and misled the world regarding the seventh day Sabbath and, sadly, it will continue to fool with this plea.

    • Santo Salvo

What saves? the sabbath or Christ? You adventists fall in the same error of the roman church, you put the sabbath (or other things) over Christ, you are sabbath-centric and not Christ-centric.

      • Becky

I’m not an adventist. There are believers that keep the Sabbath and long before the adventists ever did.

The Sabbath is the fourth commandment of the ten, you know, the laws that tell you not to commit murder, adultery, steal, etc.,. Using your logic here, assuming that you keep the other nine commandments, you are, for example, murder-centric and not Christ-centric.

The Sabbath was within God’s laws from the beginning and he kept the Sabbath first. Whilst he was on earth, he kept the Sabbath. He never instructed anyone to not keep the Sabbath, not even to his disciples. In fact, they kept the Sabbath well after the death and resurrection of Christ. Were they “sabbath-centric”? Or, how ’bout the saved who will still be keeping the Sabbath before God?

Don’t believe me, instead read the bible for yourself…the entire bible.

  • acontraryview

Can you believe this guy? I mean how absurd. Actually suggesting that there be dialogue among the world’s religions and collaboration to address the many problems in world, rather than tormenting religious-based animosity. Where would that lead us?

    • Nidalap

      Hmm…formation of a one-world religion, maybe to go along with a one-world government? 🙂

      • acontraryview

Hmmmm…..how would acknowledging that the world contains many religions and that dialogue between them would be beneficial result in a formation of a one-world religion?

Isn’t it the goal of each religion that everyone become adherents of their religion, which would result in a one-world religion?

        • Santo Salvo

“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
          Matthew 7:13-14

          • acontraryview

            Did you have a point?

          • afchief

            Yes!

Acts 4:12 (NASB) And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

      • gizmo23

I thought the aim of Christianity was to have everyone believe the same thing. Sounds like a one world religion to me

        • Santo Salvo

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. (John 6:29)

for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.
          (1 Timothy 2:2-6)

          • gizmo23

Again it sounds like a one world religion aim idea which many here hate

          • Santo Salvo

You are trying to distort the true objective of the word of God. Exists a great difference between a generic one-world religion ( that would in fact be secularism ) and all knees falling before Jesus Christ, and you know that.

          • gizmo23

I never hear people put it that way. Why don’t they? Thanks

        • afchief

The aim of Christianity is for us to spread the Gospel. It is up to you whether you receive it or not. We do not force our religion on anyone.

          • SecludedCompound

Interesting. Which part of your Christian teaching tells you to claim that liberals have mental disorders, you hypocritical piece of false Christian trash?

I’m calling you on your hypocrisy in front of our Christian brothers and sisters as the Word instructs me to do.

          • afchief

Because it is a mental disorder!!! How else do you explain this?

            Progressive (Liberal Democrat) definition:

Any person or group that believes people should be given special treatment based on ethnicity, gender or sexual preference.

Any person or group that believes people should be treated as more valuable under the law due to ethnicity, gender or sexual preference.

Any person or group that believes human life does not begin at conception and will push for killing a baby up to and after live birth.

People who support philosophies relating to or in support of Communism, Socialism, Marxism, Atheism, Collectivism, LGBT activism, pro-abortion fanatics, radical feminists, normalization of pedophilia, radical environmentalism, racialism and any person or group who does not believe in upholding the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law.

Yep, it sure is a mental disorder!!!!

          • SecludedCompound

You seem like you might be pointing the finger at others because you actually have issues, per your constant incoherent gibberish, hahaha. Just saying.

          • afchief

Wait, there is more to that mental disorder called “liberalism”!!! In addition to the above group memberships and ideals Progressives as a group will knowingly lie, cheat, break laws, deny a person or a group’s Constitutional rights and deny referenced facts that do not support their Progressive agenda. Progressives often resort to intense physical attacks, bullying and baseless slander when confronted with a set of facts or beliefs that oppose their agenda. Progressives seem to be unbound by any moral imperative and also display many or all the traits of a sociopath and or a psychopath while pursuing their deviant agenda.

Yes, it sure is a mental disorder!!!

          • SecludedCompound

Do you ever think about going to therapy? It’s pretty obvious that you have some pretty pronounced neuroses. I bet you do a lot of keyboard-warriroring because you’re a pretty pathetic specimen in person.

Anyway, why didn’t you ever answer my direct questions with specifics on the economy instead of just positing hypothetical rejoinders based on faulty, ridiculous supposition?

          • afchief

The truth is that Liberalism is a mental disorder. It is quite obvious that the excessive early consumption of alcohol and drugs as well as the very early and ongoing brainwashing at all levels of teaching institutions rewire the brain making the liberal/socialist/progressive/homosexual incapable of critical and rational thinking.

I see it all the time!!!

          • SecludedCompound

Please seek help. It’s pretty apparent that you’re projecting. You need to go see a medical professional. I’m being serious here, man. Your wife and kids, if you have them, need you to do this. I”ll be praying for you, man.

          • afchief

Ahh yes, the truth strikes once again.

          • Jolanda Tiellemans

Roflmao!!!!!!! Seriously? Oh why do I ask, you are serious.

          • SecludedCompound

It’s amazing that a man that goes around accusing people of having mental disorders would deign to call others out on bullying and slander, hahaha. Anyway. I think it’s disgusting that you call yourself a Christian. Almost every atheist I know is a better Christian in practice than you are, and obviously, that’s true in the case of most evangelical Americans. You’re a disgusting hypocrite and a moral and intellectual coward.

          • afchief

Liberalism is a disorder. The “mind programming” comes with the emotions. The programming and emotions are extremely powerful. “America is hate. America is wrong. America must die. The UN is the future. White people are Evil. Men are abusers. Parents need to be subverted.” These thoughts/programming come at a very rapid pace. They overwhelm the Liberal. This programming “controls” the commie/Leftist/liberal. We are fighting for our lives against mentally-ill hate-filled misanthropic anti-Americans.

It truly is a mental disorder!!!

          • SecludedCompound

You seem to be paranoid and delusional. Please seek help from a professional before you hurt someone.

          • afchief

I just love how the truth always offends!!

          • afchief

And don’t forget the two great Commandments of liberalism!!!!; Love your God (0bama) with all your heart, and if your neighbor has more than you, it is within your right to take what is yours.

          • SecludedCompound

Well, I guess when you have nothing of value to say and all of your arguments have been batted aside like the ravings of the enfeebled, stupid mind that they are, you could respond like that, sure, hahaha.

          • gogo0

afchief’s hateful rambling are fun to read from time to time, and the copy+paste stuff he doesnt understand is easy to identify and skip, but dont bother interacting with him because he doesnt understand logic or reason. a brick wall is more reasonable and intelligent, but afchief is definitely more entertaining

          • SecludedCompound

He’s obviously projecting. I really honestly do worry that he’s a harm to others.

          • gogo0

he absolutely is to anyone who is impressionable and takes him seriously. cant reason with him, might as well chalk him up as another religious fanatic and enjoy his rambling before it becomes something physical.

          • SecludedCompound

Also, do you ever feel bad about being a terrible Christian? Like, about how if Christ met you he’d think you were disgusting? It’s funny talking to Christians who are basically the antithesis of what they preach.

Are you at all concerned about what a hypocrite you are?

          • afchief

Why does the truth bother you? What I state is liberalism to the “T”

          • SecludedCompound

Liberalism? I’m talking about your Christianity and your obvious, definitive hypocrisy. You exhibit no Christlike qualities, as far as I can tell, if that’s actually your concern as a Christian, as it should be.

I seriously do think you first concern at this point should be seeking the help of a licensed, professional medical doctor. I say that in all seriousness, and in all concern for the loved ones that surround you.

          • afchief

We Christians have a “sound mind”. You liberals and homosexuals have a reprobate mind. It is quite obvious!!!!

2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

          • Valri

Pure hate. That was a piggish thing to say.

          • afchief

Liberals and homos hate the truth. It’s one of your defining characteristics!!!

          • Valri

            How old are you? 12?

          • gizmo23

So everyone that doesn’t think like you should be locked up.
you get more ridiculous each day

          • afchief

            I miss America.

I miss the America where surveillance efforts were focused on foreign enemies rather than domestic citizens.

I miss the America where children weren’t routinely kidnapped by hospitals and CPS officials because their parents wanted a second medical opinion or refused to poison their children with chemotherapy.

I miss the America where citizens respected local cops as “peace officers” and local cops existed to “protect and serve.”

I miss the America where veterans were honored and celebrated rather than condemned and medically neglected.

I miss an education system that taught personal responsibility.

I miss not having to have a security system in my home.

I miss the days when cell phones didn’t exist and people had the ability to have a conversation.

I miss honest reporting in the media.

I miss going to the store and not worrying about what was in my food.

I miss the days when you could take a persons word as the truth and a handshake meant something.

I miss the America where openly pledging your allegiance to the United States Constitution did not result in your name being added to the FBI watch list.

I miss the America where churches believed in God rather than Government.

I miss the America that won World War II and beat back a tyrannical fascist government in the name of freedom and democracy. Today, the occupied American government has become the very same tyrannical fascist bully it once sought to defeat.

I miss the America where doctors actually tried to help people prevent disease rather than taking kickbacks from drug companies to put more patients on more medications.

I miss the America where health insurance was affordable… and voluntary.

I miss the America where brain-damaged vaccine fanatics weren’t dominating the news, calling for the arrest and imprisonment of informed parents who wisely choose to avoid injecting their children with vaccine poisons such as mercury, aluminum and formaldehyde.

I miss the America where television news actually resembled the truth and wasn’t just a White House propaganda racket disguised as news.

I miss the America where launching a conservative non-profit to educate people about the Bible or the Bill of Rights did not get you maliciously targeted by the IRS for punitive audits.

I miss the America where milkshakes were actually made with fresh milk, and where selling fresh milk didn’t get you raided at gunpoint by California food safety goons.

I miss the America where newly sworn-in government representatives didn’t violate the Constitution the very next day after swearing allegiance to it.

I miss the America where members of Congress actually read legislation before passing it.

I miss the America where federal regulators used to limit the power of globalist corporations rather than conspiring with them to expand their power over the People.

I miss the America where the Attorney General wasn’t a gun-running criminal thug who tried to cause gun violence in America in order to destroy the Second Amendment.

I miss the America where the President didn’t believe he was a dictator and didn’t use executive orders to dictate his illegal policies to the country.

I miss the America where the IRS didn’t seize the bank accounts of innocent small business farmers merely because they deposited funds slightly less than $10,000 at a time.

I miss the America where being thought of as a patriot was a badge of honor, not an accusation of being a domestic terrorist.

I miss the America where paying with cash didn’t get you reported to the FBI as a “suspicious individual.”

I miss the America where the FBI actually tried to prevent crime instead of spending most of its time dreaming up fabricated terror plots to pawn off on street drunks and homeless drug addicts so it could “catch terrorists in the act!”

I miss the America where doctors could practice personalized, local medicine and weren’t beholden to a stifling government system of mindless diagnosis and medication prescribing.

I miss the America where taking pictures of government buildings in a public space didn’t cause you to be immediately surrounded by armed government goons accusing you of “domestic terrorism” activities.

I miss the America where you could be a rancher in Oregon and collect rainwater on your own acreage without being arrested and sent to prison.

I miss the America where the currency was still backed by gold, and the Federal Reserve couldn’t magically print endless new money in a radical global financial blowout experiment gone awry.

I miss America where you could grow vegetables in your front yard without fear of being arrested and thrown in jail for violating “community guidelines.”

I miss the America where you could fly the American flag from your own apartment balcony without being cited and threatened by the property manager.

I miss the America where people used to trade hard work for honest pay instead of merely voting for whatever politician promises them the most entitlement handouts.

I miss the America where cops didn’t pull you over and seize all your cash under outlandish interpretations of “civil forfeiture” laws.

I miss the America where your vote actually counted, and where elections weren’t systematically rigged by black box electronic voting machines.

I miss the America where real truth-telling journalism was celebrated rather than condemned.

Most of all, I miss the America where good, honest, hard-working, truth-telling citizens didn’t have to live in constant fear of being accused, arrested, imprisoned, fined or terrorized by their own government.

God bless the America we used to have. May God help us once again restore it

          • gizmo23

Your America never exsisted, especially for all the people you seem to hate, Catholics, gays, blacks.

          • afchief

It sure did!!! It was a moral America. It was a safe America. It was a free America. It was a capitalistic America were people achieved based on their work ethic!

          • gizmo23

An America where blacks were denined rights, gay people beaten and where questioning government made you a commie.

          • afchief

I talking about the America I miss in our lifetimes. Where there was still a “somewhat” moral government. Still a “somewhat” moral society!

Homosexuality is NOT moral!!!! It is sin. It is death!!!

          • gogo0

”I miss the America where surveillance efforts were focused on foreign enemies rather than domestic citizens.”

wow, something we can agree on

          • gizmo23

            No one said force

          • afchief

Islam spreads by force. Christianity does not.

          • gizmo23

            not the topic

        • Valri

Giz, to a lot of these people, being a Catholic is worse than being a satanist. Having opponents and enemies is much more important to them than trying to find common ground and peace.

        • jan

The principle aim of Christianity is not “to have everyone believe the same thing”. Do you not know James 2:19?
“Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”

Christianity has less to do with belief than you might think when you remember that Satan and his demons believe. Christianity’s purpose is nothing short of the Great Commission: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matt. 28:19-20)

There will be goats among the sheep until the return of Christ. However, one day, we will ALL indeed believe: “For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” -Romans 14:11

When Christ establishes His kingdom on the earth, then, and only then, will a one world religion be acceptable.

          • Jolanda Tiellemans

Why the whole explaining? Why not just agree with gizmo, cause you just explained what he stated. ‘A one world religion’

          • jan

Oh, did I? Reread what I said. Leave the establishment of a one world religion to Christ, He is the only one able to do it; and He will do it when He returns. For now, expect the division that Christ promised: “Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division.” Luke 12:51 A one world church established by man is a counterfeit, created by Satan to deceive the masses.

          • Jolanda Tiellemans

Your God wants it, right? To me that is the same. You Chrsitians would be very happy when that would happen, right?

          • jan

“One true religion” is God’s, not mine. Yes, I will be utterly overjoyed to see the destruction of all evil and an end to all suffering inflicted on mankind by Satan, who wouldn’t be? Overjoyed, I tell you!

      • afchief

So true!! A clear sign we are in the end times.

    • Valri

It’s much more along fundamentalist lines to hate and criticize.

    • Jolanda Tiellemans

      Peace on earth?

  • Joe

The points made by this writer were correct except the verse given in John 1:12-13 as being our gospel by which we are saved. The gospel message by which we are saved today is believing that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day. (See 1Corinthians 15:1-3). The gospel John and the other 11 disciples preached was to the circumcised nation of Israel.(See Ephesians 2:11-12). This misapplication of scripture, (failure to rightly divide the word of truth) is the reason why so much confusion abounds in ” Christendom”,

  • Reason2012

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
    John 14/6

    “Father” Francis says
“Jesus is not the only way, the only truth and the only life: men can come to God any way that seems right in their own eyes.”

Get into a church that preaches God’s Word, people.

The only thing in the Bible about what Mr. Francis is teaching is how at the end there will be one false world religion (Revelation 17) – and he’s helping pave the way.

  • Blablathingy

Thanks for this; I needed a good laugh

  • Gene Tobola

Mr.Gendron is well known for taking scripture out of context to spread his false
understanding of the Word of God.
He is a five-point Calvinist and believes that God created some people for eternal
life and God created some people to burn in hell for all eternity to glorify Himself. That doctrine isn’t from the bible, it is from the mind of John Calvin.

As usual Gendron takes Romans 3:11 out of context. This passage is quoting from Psalm
    14. One needs to read Psalm 10-14 to understand that those who do not seek God
    are the wicked!

Scripture does not say no one seeks God!

Psalm 9:10 says, “For thou O Lord has not forsaken those who SEEK thee”.

Acts 17 says that God has made men from every nation that “they should SEEK God, in
the hope that they might feel after him and find him.”

In Acts 10:34 Peter says, “I perceive that God shows no partiality but in every
nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.”

Yes,Pope Francis wants to have a dialogue with other religions. Isn’t that what the
apostles did as they spread the Gospel throughout the world? Didn’t Paul
dialogue with the pagans in Athens?

Mr.Gendron claims to have been a “devout” Catholic yet when you read his books, he
knows absolutely nothing about the Catholic Church. He distorts what the Church
actually teaches and his Calvinist interpretation of scripture was never held
    by anyone until John Calvin.

    • gizmo23

      Very well put. Thank you

    • Santo Salvo

Consider the people of Israel: are not those who eat the sacrifices participants in the altar? What do I imply then? That food offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons. Shall we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he? (1 Corinthians 10:18-22)

Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.
      (Ephesians 5:11)

The pope do not only said that he wants to have a dialogue with the world religions, but he put it very clear that he want people collaborating with each other on a fake common ground that does not exists. He said: “Many think differently, feel differently, seeking God or meeting God in different ways,”
What is a clear false teaching, Jesus Christ and the apostles left it very clear that the only way to God is Jesus Christ: For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5)

      • acontraryview

“he put it very clear that he want people collaborating with each other on a fake common ground”

What “fake common ground” did the Pope say that he wants religions to collaborate on?

“Jesus Christ and the apostles left it very clear that the only way to God is Jesus Christ:”

That is what Christians believe. Others, of other religions, use different texts to create a relationship with a supreme being. You have simply chosen to believe that there is only one way. Unless you are God, Santo, you cannot say with certainty that there is only one way to reach him. Are you God, Santo?

        • Santo Salvo

“What “fake common ground” did the Pope say that he wants religions to collaborate on?”
That we are supposedly all children of God. That everyone believe in “love”, and that everyone seeks God, but through his own way.

“That is what Christians believe. ”

Exactly, so the pope is not a Christian, since he does not believe in this.

“Others, of other religions, use different texts to create a relationship with a supreme being”

Not every religion believe in a “supreme” being. Or search for relationship with a “supreme” being.

” You have simply chosen to believe that there is only one way. ” I have not chosen it, but I was chosen by God, so was His work on me that make me believe in Him.

“Unless you are God, Santo, you cannot say with certainty that there is only one way to reach him.”

This is clearly a fallacy. I do not need to be God to know that there is only one way. I know that there is only one way through revelation.

It is interesting that you are using a self-refuting argument. How could you say for certainty that no one knows that there is only one way to God if you are not omniscient?

We Christians do not believe irrationally, but we believe in this because of Jesus Christ the Son of God, who rose from the dead, confirming everything he said about Himself and the Father.

          • acontraryview

“We Christians do not believe irrationally”

Forgive me, Santo, but believing that a supreme being impregnated a virgin and the resulting child was the embodiment of the supreme being, that after becoming an adult and killed, he rose from the dead, and that just believing in him is sufficient to wipe away whatever ills a person has done and provide them with eternal life in a place where milk flows and the streets are made of gold, is irrational.

          • Santo Salvo

“provide them with eternal life in a place where milk flows and the
streets are made of gold, is irrational” Are you able to explain why is
            irrational to believe in this?

We Christians know that “For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
For it is written,“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.” (1 Cor 1:18-19)”

What is impossible for God? God created the universe from nothing, God created the man, created the process of pregnancy, created everything, what could be is impossible for Him? To come to Earth as a man is not impossible for God, to die and rise from dead? It is a piece of cake.

But you do not shows to understand the clearly teaching of bible, that was the Son of God, the second person of Trinity that came as a man to receive in Himself the punishment for our sin.

You could not perceive that the cross was in reality a cosmic event. Christ received the penalty for everyone’s sin. He did not deserve to die, but as is written:

Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. ( Romans 5:18-21)

Was not because his suffering, but because of His obedience. There is a good explanation at got questions: Why did Jesus have to die? Remember, the holy God cannot let sin go unpunished. To bear our own sins would be to suffer God’s judgment in the flames of hell. Praise God, He kept His promise to send and sacrifice the perfect Lamb to bear the sins of those who trust in Him. Jesus had to die because He is the only one who can pay the penalty for our sins.

Search for gotquestions why-Jesus-die to read the full answer.

  • gizmo23

The number 1 thing I got from this was that a great many Christian people despise other Christian people

    • afchief

Not true! For us Christians there is ONLY one way to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. There is NO other way. Jesus said you would know others by their fruits. The majority of the Catholic church has NO fruit. They have become very secular/religious i.e. what we Christians like to say “one foot in the world and one foot with God” or “luke warm”.

Revelation 3:15-16 (NASB) ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.

This means Jesus will reject luke warm Christians.

1 Corinthians 2:16 (NASB) For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.

It takes no special power to read scripture. Try it sometime.

          • Valri

Reading it is one thing. Interpreting it is another.

          • Amos Moses

There is only one interpretation. And that belongs to the Trinity.

God did not make it so difficult for it to be understood.

          • Valri

Only one correct interpretation and over 30,000 denominations? Really?

          • Amos Moses

Really……………………… The Trinity says what it means and means what it says. REALLY!

          • Valri

So why so many denominations and so much disagreement if it’s as straightforward as you say?

          • Amos Moses

Because satan is the father of lies and just because a person says they are a christian does not make it so.

Scripture interprets scripture. Only God is capable of doing that.

He has given us His Word but just like a hammer, it can be used to drive nails or it can be misused to kill another.

We are to test the spirits of those who claim to be of Him. We are to judge righteous judgement on all.

          • Bob Johnson

And after two millennia and multiple translations and interpretations, many on this site are of the opinion that the Holy Roman Church (as well as Martin Luther and others) is wrong and their personal reading of an English translation is correct.

          • Valri

Their fundamentalist pastors, who are basically cult leaders in every respect, have taught them this.

          • Bob Johnson

Reading is only the first step. One needs to study the Bible. Who and when were the various books written? What about the history of the ancient Middle East? Why is it written in Greek? Many questions bring us to understanding.

    • Valri

It’s a fundamentalist thing. Most other denominations don’t hate Catholics. Fundies, Baptists, JWs and SDAs seem to more than the others.

Catholics believe they are the original church by simply claiming the apostles are their saints. I don’t think the apostles considered themselves worthy of praise or prayers nor did they worship or claim that Mary was holy. none of that was declared until a pope added it to their doctrine after the bible was assembled by the grace and sovereignty of God saying not to add to or take from the book. He made it so simple that a child could understand. there is only one way to the kingdom of heaven period, Mary can’t help. for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of god. as a math professor, all means all, which includes Mary. I can start a false version of Christianity and claim that Adam was the first member thus I’m in the first and true faith. This doesn’t make me right. You either follow Christ and Christ alone praying only to God as Christ did or you don’t. Like mathematics 1 plus 1 is 2, Jesus plus nothing equals everything.

  • jdumon

I am a catholic and I am afraid that our Holy Fater is mistaken:
“Nobody can reach the Father but through Me (Jesus)” otherwise his sufferings and his death on the cross would have been useless.
We don’t worship the same God as the muslims, the buddhists, the shintoïsts, the siberian chamans, etc…

And there we go again, the only good and true religion is mine. And some of you are surprised that so many are not listening to you.

No, if you do not follow Christ and what His word is then you believe falsely.

You cannot separate Christ and the Holy Spirit from their Word.

          • Amos Moses

            See my previous comment.

      • Amos Moses

” And some of you are surprised that so many are not listening to you.”

Christ told us why you do not listen:

        John
8:42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
8:43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
8:45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

        • Jolanda Tiellemans

And again with the bible quotes. I’m not religious and will never be. Cause I wouldn”t want to join a religion where people like you are so closed minded. I have friends from different religions and when we visit each other they talk about their religions and there is never been a fight. You know why? They respect each other and their religion. That is hard to find here on the Christian boards. I’m not surprised though if I hear some of you spew hate about other religions.

          • Amos Moses

Being Christian means being closed to anything but the truth, not so “open-minded” that your brain falls out of your head.

          • Jolanda Tiellemans

Once again the reason I’m not religious and will never be. I have no problem with people who are religious, my friends come from different faiths, Christian,Hindu, Muslim etc. They are all best friends. I have a problem with people like you, who are not open to listen to people of different faiths. Maybe it is because I’m an Atheist, I have no problem with people who are religious. They respect me and I respect them.

          • Amos Moses

“I have a problem with people like you, who are not open to listen to people of different faiths. ”

If you have the truth, the only place for you to move,,,,,,is AWAY from it.

Why is that so hard to understand?

          • Jolanda Tiellemans

And be hatefull like you towards those who are not Christian? No thanks I’ll pass. I’ll rather be a Atheist and getting along with everyone, religious or not.

          • Amos Moses

“And be hatefull like you towards those who are not Christian?”

It has nothing to do with hate, it has to do with believing a lie. Pass is fine, believe a lie, But it is sad that you choose to do that.

          • Jolanda Tiellemans

I don’t believe a lie, cause I don’t believe in your God, which to me is a lie.

          • Amos Moses

“I don’t believe a lie, cause I don’t believe in your God, which to me is a lie.”

Again, wrong and still delusional. So if that is true then you are just an accident and there is no creative force that made all. And monkeys sitting at a typewriter or a computer keyboard write books.

            Delusional………………..

          • Jolanda Tiellemans

Well we share 95% of our DNA with apes. So we evolved from the apes, we don’t come from nothing. I just don’t believe what is said in your bible.

          • Amos Moses

By what mechanism? There is no verifiable evidence of macro-evolution, anywhere. It is a faith based “science” and it is generous to even call it science.

Unless absolutely ever bit and part is in the exact right place at the exact right time, by accident, evolution does not work. It is like saying a tornado swept thru a junkyard and after it left we found this Toyota Prius fully assembled in a parking lot.

i used to believe in evolution, but then i evolved, and now i think it is stupid.

          • Valri

I think they hate Catholics because Catholics are more reasonable. Don’t get me wrong, I have my own issues with Catholicism, mainly their Stone Age view of women and homosexuals, but at least they don’t have a problem with evolution and don’t fight science on most things.

The strong delusion, that you owe, that you must pay, that you must worship the devil, and his servants, and the devil’s conjured gods of Political Correctness who are the devil!

The devil screams his Political Correctness, his lies, and the devil screams that you owe, that you must pay, that you must worship the devil, and his servants, and the devil’s conjured gods of Political Correctness who are the devil! And the devil screams bloody murder that you must not talk about God and Jesus, or the devil! The devil screams that Almighty God is no better than any other culture! Or god who does not exist anyway! And that you must bash yourself! And your country! And God! And Christmas!

A lady claimed that she lived in Fort Worth, and she saw me in line at a coffeeshop, and she offered to buy me a drink.

Told her to come out, and I would sing her a song.

When she came, four little girls were listening, and when I asked who felt the Spirit, four hands raised.

The lady began explaining, providing commentary to all that I said, and she began saying the prayer, but in the middle of the prayer of salvation, she said,

“Wait! We can’t do this! There may be other cultures here!”

I did not stop. For I am not leading them, the Holy Spirit convicts the hearts, such that they wish to be saved. Not me.

And is it proper that I will vet who I will allow to speak with the Holy Spirit?

And Jesus is Lord of all. Every knee will bow, every tongue confess. There are no cultures, no conjured gods of Political Correctness, who are equal with God.

When we finished the prayer, I turned to speak with the woman.

    She was gone.

The Jews, and the Christians, God’s people, they are persecuted by the world as no others.

The devil screams that you must bash yourself, and your country, and God!

    And Christmas!

The devil screams that you must not talk about God, and Jesus, or the devil!

That you must turn from God, and the word of God, and that you will turn to the devil, and his lies, his Political Correctness, and that you will fear, owe, pay, worship the devil, and his servants, and the devil’s conjured gods of Political Correctness who are the devil!

Lest the devil, and his servants, and the devil’s conjured gods of Political Correctness who are the devil, lest they be offended.

The devil screams his fiery darts, the Labels of Accusation, the demands for payment, the names he calls, the names he screams at those who will not do what he wants!

And “Racist, supremacist, intolerant, self-righteous, judgmental, Bible-thumping bigot!! Haters-gonna-hate bigot, meat-eating bigot, bigot, bigot!”

The devil screams that God is no better than any other god who does not exist anyway!

And the devil, and his servants, and the devil’s conjured gods of Political Correctness who are the devil, they scream bloody murder, and they scream that you must not talk about God, and Jesus, or the devil!

    Lest they be offended!

And the VFW is told they are not allowed to say “God,” or “Jesus.” And that they are not allowed to talk about God, and Jesus, or the devil.

Lest someone, lest the devil, and his servants, and the devil’s conjured gods of Political Correctness who are the devil, lest they be offended.

And do the gods of Political Correctness tell you what you can say, and what you cannot say, and are you surprised that since you allowed your gods to tell you what you can, and cannot, say, that your gods tell you what you can, and cannot, say, and are you surprised that that you are told that you must not say “God,” or “Christmas,” and that you must not talk about God, and Jesus, or the devil!

    IDOLATRY!

Regarding the devil, and his lies, before God, and the word of God.

But the devil’s debt can never be settled,.and enough is never enough, and you would be told in hell what you can say, and what you cannot say.

    Forever.

The devil’s goal from the Garden of Eden, from heaven, is IDOLATRY, and the devil’s Man of Apostasy will bring the end of the world, he who would sit in the, to be worshiped, as God, by all the world.

Idol worshipers go to hell. Take your idols with you.

And the devil wishes to take all the world to hell.

God says “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me,” and no idols you would fear, owe, pay, worship before God, and that you must revere even God’s name!

As your idols scream that you must not even SAY God’s name!

WHAT DO YOU SUPPOSE GOD THINKS ABOUT THAT!

And who made the devil, and his servants, and the devil’s conjured gods of Political Correctness who are the devil, who made the ACLU/Atheists, and Madalyn Murray O’Hare, and the Devil’s Nine, the Supreme Devil’s Court, who made them gods, able to command, and such that you must go to hell with them!

You might ask the lady who claimed she lived in Fort Worth.

It is amazing that in a world with such turmoil…there are so many so called Christians passing judgement on a Pope that is trying to bring the world together in understanding. Just maybe by working together and talking we will show others what being a Christian really means instead of this ‘I’m better than you…my way is the only way’ attitude. We need to lead by example, share the word of Christ. So much negativity, judgement no wonder so many are turned off when someone says they are a Christian. It is not Christianity that is negative it is so many people that claim to be Christian but then come off like fingernails on a chalkboard! Find your humanity, understanding and love for your fellow man. Maybe then you will bring more people over to Christianity!

    • gizmo23

I agree. You make way too much sense for many people.
I do not get the various Christian churches slapping each other around. We are all God’s children and we are to set an example for the world.
Catholics, Hindus, Muslims, etc. were all created by God and as such need to be respected. I believe God smiles on each person he created

      • Amos Moses

Christ and scripture disagree with you:

    • Amos Moses

Satan wants a one world religion, So anyone trying to do that is with satan, not Christ.

Christ came with a sword to divide, not unite. Christ is the divider. His followers are the remnant, the remainder.

      Truth…

    • Jolanda Tiellemans

You are asking a lot. But yeah, if some would change their atitude towards others that would be a big step in the right direction.

  • Carlton Newman

The Pope has taken an enlightened position; understanding the true message of Jesus Christ that the Light that was in him is also the Light that in us.

Jesus carried the Light of Christ in his body and so he was called Jesus Christ or Jesus the anointed of Christ. The Light of Christ in Jesus is the same Light that is in every child of God to greater or lesser degrees. That Light “… was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” (John 1:9). We are all “members in particular” (1 Cor 12:27) in the one Body of Christ Light.

Jesus said that as long as he was in the world, he was the light of the world. (John 9:5), but now that he has returned to the Light, from whence we have all come, and is no more in the world, we are now the light of the world (Mat 5:14).

Christians have become idolators of a person. Rather than worshiping the Light who is God (1 John 1:5) that Jesus bore, they worship the bearer. It is kind of like worshiping the donkey who carries the Icon, or picture of Jesus. Jesus said: John 12:45 “And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.” John 1:5 “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” And so people have confused the relationship of Jesus and the Light of the Father.

Jesus has Ascended and is one with the Light of the Father. This we must also do (John 14:12) with the help of Jesus and others who are “the spirits of just men made perfect” (Hbr 12:23) who “speaketh from heaven” (Hbr 12:25) who are also Ascended Masters. Jesus established the connection of our heart with the heart of the Father through his Sacred Heart. This he has also done for other souls who were of a different flock, who may be following a different teacher or teaching. God knows who his own are. The “tares among the wheat” are the creation of the fallen angels; by their fruits (their actions and deeds) you will know them (Mat 7:20).

In light of the following scriptures and a great many others I can not see how it is possible to become an IDOLATER OF JESUS.

(Matthew 28:16-20) The the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw hims, they WORSHIPED him but some doubted. The Jesus came to them and said, “ALL AUTHORITY IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH HAS BEEN GIVEN TO ME. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I HAVE COMMANDED you. And surely I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, to the very end of the age.

(John 14:6) I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father EXCEPT THROUGH ME.

(John 11:25) I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.

(John 15:5-6) I AM THE VINE, you are the branches. If you REMAIN IN ME and I in you, you will bear much fruit. APART FROM ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown anyway and withers. Such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

(John 16:13-15) But when He, the Spirit of Truth (Holy Spirit) comes he will guide you in all truth. He will not speak of His own, he will speak only what He hears and He will tell you what is to come. He will GLORIFY ME because it is FROM ME that He will receive what he will make known to you. ALL THAT BELONGS TO THE FATHER IS MINE. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.

(Philippians 2:9-11) Therefore God EXALTED HIM (JESUS) TO THE HIGHEST PLACE and given him the name that is ABOVE EVERY NAME. That at the NAME OF JESUS EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW in heaven and on earth and under the earth. AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL CONFESS THAT JESUS IS LORD to the glory of God the Father.

(Romans 8:9) You are not in the realm of the flesh but in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) lives in you. And if anyone does not have the SPIRIT OF CHRIST (Holy Spirit) THEY DO NOT BELONG TO CHRIST.

(Ephesians 1:13-14) And you also were INCLUDED IN CHRIST when you heard the MESSAGE OF THE TRUTH (Christ Jesus) THE GOSPEL OF YOUR SALVATION. When you BELIEVED you were MARKED IN HIM (Christ Jesus) with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit. Who is a deposit GUARANTEEING our inheritance (salvation) until the redemption of those who are God’s possession.

We have no commonality with the works of darkness, no matter their “faith” in a false god or belief system.

      • Valri

They are not works of darkness. They are fervently held beliefs no different than yours, and they believe they are 100% correct just as you do. You can either try to find peace between you or arrogantly insist you’re right and they are wrong.

The only time a catholic meets and comes to know God is when he or she rejects his or her false religion and follows Jesus (the) Christ, worshiping God in the Spirit and in Truth.

    Follow Jesus, find Salvation.

  • Nidalap

Well, the anti-faith posters are defending it so there ya go! 🙂

  • sammy13

Sure is a lot of negativity toward Catholics, or should I say ignorant hatred in a lot of the posts! Catholic is an interpretation from the Greek meaning universal. Nearly all of the reformation branches of Christianity, Protestants, sprang from the Catholic church. And from those now established Protestant churches, more denominations developed. Some going forward in a progressive movement and others going back to the original roots of the church.

Somehow folks forget what Jesus said to Peter. You know the verse, about a rock. And what about telling Peter that what he (Peter) binds on earth will be bound in Heaven and loosed on earth will be loosed in Heaven? Could that be what led to the Church determining what is allowed and not allowed? Papal infallibility on spiritual matters maybe? Or maybe just general, all purpose earthly leadership of the fledgling church?

There are posts regarding the bible. Until the reformation period, there was only one bible. The Catholic bible. And then followed the dark ages, with the Catholic church going overboard on hunting down heretics and such. Then the reformation and making the bible better, or just distancing oneself from the at the time corrupt policies of the Catholic Church, or what was perceived as corrupt. Just as we have many denominations within Christianity, we have many versions of the bible. And while they all follow the basics, they do differ. And in one very glaring instance, while all bibles refer to Peter being held captive during the days of unleavened bread, which is the Passover which lasts for many days, only the KJV refers to Easter. The Greek is Pascha, no more, no less. Yet it was always translated as passover in every instance of usage, except once, and in only one version of the bible. Go figure. And the KJV is the so-called gold standard! Double go figure.

And I could go on. Why do we keep holy the 1st day of the week vice the 7th as Jesus did? Why do we use an old testament text (KJV) that was not translated until several centuries after Jesus? What do we think He and his early followers used? Why do Christians NOT celebrate the same holidays that Jesus celebrated?

If you folks truly believe that the Catholic church is wrong, then convince your denomination to get back to the basics. He who is without sin cast the first stone? Makes sense to me!

    • RedPillPlease

If Peter and the Rock was what Jesus was really talking about, why didn’t He just say: “And upon you I will build my church.”?? And being that Mark was based on the vantage point of Peter, why is that point completely omitted in his gospel?

It’s because that rock was Peter’s “faith” that Jesus was implying for His Church, not Peter.

Christians can embrace those who ACCEPT Jesus and the path to God through prayer, meditation, and CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS(the Holy Ghost)

  • Bob Smith

I believe that God gave us free will. He does not want us to be forced to love Him because that is not true love. He wants us to come to Him out of our own free will. In my opinion, any church or religion that wants to force us to join their religion is not of God. And any religion that wants to take away our free will is an enemy of God.

    • Amos Moses

We do not choose Him, He chooses us.

      • Jolanda Tiellemans

Then how come not every person on earth is Christian? Cause if he chooses us, then why didn’t he do that the day we where born?

        • Amos Moses

Because they are of their father, the devil. They do not have the truth in them.

“Cause if he chooses us, then why didn’t he do that the day we where born?”

Actually, he did, BEFORE you were born.

          • Jolanda Tiellemans

Well then I’ll have to say your God isn’t doing a very good job, cause not everyone is a Christian.

          • RedPillPlease

That’s why Jesus gave us Matthew 7 … “narrow is the gate that leads to the path of righteousness and there are few who will find it.”

          • Amos Moses

No, then you would just be a robot. He did not create robots. Robots do not love and if they do it is meaningless.

Sorry, i know that is what most a-theist trans-humanists want, to merge with a machine as that is their only path to ever-lasting life.

Sad really, when you think about it. Your only possible hope of anything after this life is that, converge with a machine, as if no one could delete you at any time

If i am wrong, well then we both just dissolve into nothing and i lose nothing. But if you are wrong, eternal darkness in a hole separated from anyone…………….. yeah, that is what you want to look forward to being and what you have lost is not even measurable.

          • Jolanda Tiellemans

Roflmao!!!! Sorry can only laugh, it sounds rediculous. Did I in any of my comments stated that I want to live forever? Nope. I have enough with this life, live it to the fullest every single day. Atheist yes. Transhumanist, have no idea what that is. Have to look it up.

          • Amos Moses

So it is either one or the other, you are right or you are wrong in your assertion.

If there is no god, but even in your a-theist life you have a god, then we all just dissolve to nothing.

But if you are wrong….. and you are… the consequences of that is dire. You will have eternal life, whether you believe it or not. What it comes down to is where will you be during that eternity.

          • RedPillPlease

You are correct! There are many folks who do not understand this.

  • The Guest

Humanism isn’t Christianity, it is the opposite. Christianity isn’t an ecumenical hodgepodge. The Word of God is quite clear: faith in Jesus Christ is the requirement for eternal life in the light of God, the Father. The Word of God also says that no one comes to Christ save God draws them. As the Body of Christ we are called to the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is salvation and redemption through the cross of Jesus Christ, our risen Savior. It is for life unto eternity in the light of God for we sinners. Christ said to pick up your cross and follow, die to self and be born again unto life in Him, in His word, in servitude of Christ. That isn’t preached. Humanism is being preached. Christ said people would hate you for His message. He also said that there is only ONE way to the Father, that is through Him. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that faitheth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.'” Romans 1:16-17

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.” Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.” 1 Corinthians 1:18-25

“For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:17-18

“For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.” 2 Timothy 4:3

To some, Lucifer is god. What the pope says is utterly ridiculous and blasphemous. I wonder, does anyone think he really buys the garbage he spews, or is he aware of who he serves? I just find it hard to believe that certain people in high places are completely unaware of what they are doing. I believe they have sold out for the promise of power and wealth. Just curious what others think.

I had no idea how vehemently opposed to Scripture the Catholic church was until I engaged in this conversation. Wow. We really must pray for them.

  • watchmanonthetower

Aren’t these weaponized words of the Pope just another set of gears in the engine of The Great Apostasy? — that escalating condition, the falling away of cherished beliefs, which presages those changes generally referred to as end times? World Religion, Global Governance, totalitarian days.

    Kinda sounds like it…

As the Holy Bible so states, that no man may come to God, but comes though Jesus Christ. The Pope is misleading, the followers of Jesus Christ to eternal ruin. This Pope, has his own agenda in mind. Between the Pope, and Oboma they are attempting to destroy the truth. Beware of false prophets.

This is really quite simple, we were given a BOOK called the BIBLE….Its chapters and teachings are what God wants us to obey….If you dont believe the book is real , then how can you believe in God….The Bible is all we have, it was a gift from God, If you read it and follow its path you will be saved through the blood of Jesus is part of what is says…..God says the road is narrow, and many will be deceived ….Do i think the Pope is going to heaven? I dont know…. Someday soon We will ALL be judged,
I would suggest you keep the Book very close , Remember this::: God destroyed everyone except Noah and his family by a flood….No doubt there were some good people that were washed away in those days… problem is ,they had not a clue who God was

This may seem strange to some and incomprehensible to others but Satan uses “love” as a tool to deceive the world and even some Christians. Does anybody remember the Beatles and the 1960’s?

    • Jolanda Tiellemans

      Nope, it sounds rediculous.

      • disqus_23FzLxRDKW

I would expect that sort of a response from a woman. Just out of curiosity are you a charter member of the Church of Oprah Winfrey?

        • Jolanda Tiellemans

Sorry but compairing the Pope with Satan, yes that sounds rediculous. I don’t belong to any church, but I have more respect for the Pope then for Christians like you. He calls out to all religions to come together, you go all into a fit and say it’s the work of Satan. Pelease, and they call us crazy. Yeah, yeah I know there is no better religion then yours. What are we little kids, mine is better then yours, so childish.

          • disqus_23FzLxRDKW

I did not have the intention of comparing Pope Francis with Satan. I am sorry if I left that impression. The point I thought I was making was that no one finds salvation by “believing in love” nor by getting along well with others. We are saved by “faith” and faith alone in the sin atoning blood sacrifice of Christ Jesus. Encouraging communications and love is of itself a very good thing. But this video is misleading and most strongly suggests the very unscriptural ideas that all religions are equal and all are children of God. This is what appears satanic to many Christians. I suppose I should have called the Pope a heretic or an apostate. Personally I believe Pope Francis to be a nice fella that means well but hasn’t a clue what he is talking about. It would appear nobody in the Vatican reads Bibles or the Vatican possesses extremely poor communication and video making skills.

          • Jolanda Tiellemans

So it’s ‘the glass is half empty’ attitude? Not even trying. Right!

    • Valri

Are you seriously comparing the pope to Satan? And for what reason, because he’s trying to create a little unity in this hate-filled world? Doesn’t sound very “satanic” to me.

      • disqus_23FzLxRDKW

I was not comparing the Pope to Satan. I am sorry if I left that impression. The point I was trying to get across is that no one is saved by “believing in love” nor by getting along well with others. We are saved by “faith” and faith alone in the sin atoning blood sacrifice of Christ Jesus. The encouragement of communication and love of itself is indeed a very good thing. But this video is misleading and most strongly suggests the very unscriptural ideas that all religions are equal and all are children of God. This is the part that is Satanic in nature for it is not of the truth. I suppose I should have called the Pope a heretic or an apostate. Personally I believe Pope Francis to be a nice fella that means well but he obviously hasn’t a clue what he is talking about.

  • disqus_23FzLxRDKW

After watching this video multiple times and doing some research something astonishing just dawned on me. The woman in the video claims she believes in Buddha. I already knew the Buddha never claimed to be a god and had a low opinion of human religions. According to the Wikipedia, “Classical Buddhism tends to be silent on the reality of an ultimate being or God and is therefore considered atheistic.” Pope Francis claims. “We are all children of God.” Apparently the Pope feels what one believes or their faith or even their total lack thereof in God has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on their divine parental descendancy. So why do not agnostics and atheists appear in this video? For using the example of the Buddhist woman in the video the only logical conclusion any intelligible person can make is that belief in God is not necessary to be a child of God. Therefore even though the video begins with the claim that the majority of this planets inhabitants are professing believers, the presence of a Buddhist, especially one who proclaims her trust in the Buddha, makes the video’s introductory message null and void. I am beginning to wonder if this Pope does not indeed have a brain tumor? Or perhaps the beginnings of Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s or some other neurological condition or just plain old-fashioned senility? Perhaps if the Vatican had done their homework they would have used a Hindu woman instead. For many Hindu’s believe in a great multitudes of gods.

  • disqus_23FzLxRDKW

I wish the Catholic Church would stop using the same public relations firm as the Church of Oprah Winfrey.

  • disqus_23FzLxRDKW

I watched the “Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network” video at least ten times and in slow motion as well. I having nothing left to say only the following questions to ask. Is the Pope ashamed of the gospel of Christ? Does the Pope believe he is laying the earliest foundations for some distant far-flung future evangelism? If we Christians feel the need to camouflage the gospel in such extreme ambivalent language are not things too far gone already?

  • disqus_23FzLxRDKW

As I stated below I watched the Pope’s video about ten times. Ever since I have this nagging sensation. I’m not sure if it’s me or the Holy Spirit. But I believe Christ Jesus is sick and tired of seeing himself portrayed as a baby in a diaper. He is the glorified King of Kings who holds total authority over the entire universe. It’s time his people grew up!

God has eliminated all the confusion by declaring this : John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
There is only one way to God the Father and that is only through Jesus Christ who gave Himself for us, No other way!
Matthew 7:13,14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Emperor Constantin declared himself the first Pope, he was pagan and when he saw the rise of the Christian Faith he converted because of pressures on his rule. He called the Council of Nicennes to declare himself Emperor of Rome and Pope of the Christians and 3/4 of those present walked out on him….he tried to hunt all the dissenters down to destroy them but they had already fled back into their flocks of believers and he could not find most of them. Hence, the beginning of the Catholic Church and the first Pope of the Holy Roman Empire.

God has been speaking and revealing Himself in the Bible over 5000 years then our Lord Jesus came in person to reveal Himself. One of my Bible commentary ‘The Spirit Filled’ say could be Pops is the ‘Beast’ number one Beast of Revelation Book. I am beginning to accept that. Because it is contrary to the commandment that you shall not inquire of other gods.

Buddha was a mere man. allah is a moon god made into a deity by a mere man. Only Jews and Christians believe in the same God, the True God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Jesus Christ came to Earth to do His Father’s business and fulfill scripture. This false pope is misleading people astray from the True teachings. He is fulfilling scripture about the one world religion and the new world order.

we are told we are not to have any other gods before Him, not to make images and worship them. Christians cannot compromise. There is only one way, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, the life. There is no other way.

In keeping with this popes past public rhetoric, the video deliberately omits the supremacy of Christ for the sake of improved public relations. Jesus will judge if this equates to a public denial.

I was raise as a catholic, I was baptism, had my communion when I was in the 2nd grade. I went to catholic school from 1 to 12 grade. And since I was in the 2nd grade during practice of my 1st communion I had to go to the priest who we called father to confess my sins, Something inside me(the holy spirit) told me that was wrong that only Jesus could do this. From the 1-12 grade we never memorize scriptures nor did we have a bible to study. I remember having a bible mostly pictures but we didn’t have a actual bible. We had assignments In my religion class. I have lots of fond memories and had excellent nuns who taught us but I knew (the holy spirit) I had to read the bible. After I graduated I search for the truths I did not know Christianity existed at the time so I went to Jehovah witnesses because I knew they study the bible but I also knew in my heart (holy spirit) it was a wrong religion. I finally had a Christian friend and watching her pray directly to God , not to saints/and or Mary but directly to him through Jesus Christ and see how God would answer had me intrigue. As a catholic we are taught that we should not bother our father in heaven with are prayer that the saint and Mary will intercede for us. As Christian we realize that God created all things and he send his begotten son for our sins nothing is impossible for him we should be praying directly to him. God is never overwhelm with our prayer but happy to have a direct communication with him (he wants a direct relationship with us how amazing is that). After years of knowing her I finally gave Christianity a shot and that is where I found the truth. Christians are not perfect but they discern the truth of what the bible says then what the priest, pastor are teaching. I am praying for all Catholic to come to know the truth Amen Love you all.

Matthew also reiterated something Jesus said at Matthew 7:13 & 14 – “Go in through the narrow gate, because broad is the gate and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are going in through it;  whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are finding it.”

In other words there is only one way to worship the Creator that is acceptable to him. Someday all mankind will be united in the True worship of Jehovah, but it will not be brought about by man, and certainly not by a Pope of Catholism.

The pope most be the devil by denying Jesus and making these false claims.

The pope needs to read the Bible. Jesus clearly stated that only those who worship and love Him are children of His Father, YHWH God. Those who do not love and serve Him are children of the devil. He warned the religious hypocrites who sought to destroy Him and His ministry:
John 8:41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
