Houston Church Wants ‘Pastor’ Out After Admitting to Making Sex Tapes

HOUSTON, Texas — Some members of a congregation in Houston, Texas are calling for their pastor to resign after he admitted to making multiple sex tapes while serving in the ministry when a woman came forward about the matter.

“He’d been preaching multiple times about fornication, about shacking up. And to find out that you’ve been making sex tapes throughout your whole adult life—[as] recently [as] two or three years ago—and you’re a man of God at the highest point in a church,” member Lecobeun Lewis told local television station Fox 26 earlier this month.

He says that he won’t return to Salem Missionary Baptist Church, led by Hosea Stubblefield, 32, until Stubblefield steps down.

“I had been working with him for over a year before he became our pastor. I was sitting in different pastor sermons and it was just disgusting knowing I was betrayed,” Craig Davis, who serves as a deacon and trustee of the 100-member church, also remarked.

He asked Stubblefield to leave the church after learning that he had been making the tapes. Davis said his daughter had also been in a relationship with the minister, who just recently divorced.

Stubblefield, who confessed to the congregation and has also confirmed his sin to the media, refuses to resign. He says that his sins are a matter of the past—that while he had made five to ten tapes over a period of ten years, his last one was two years ago.

He also contends that none of the tapes were made while serving at Salem Missionary Baptist. Stubblefield has been at the location for the past year, but has worked in ministry for 12 years.

“I’m not saying it was right, and I do apologize about it and it was a mistake that was made in my past,” he told reporters last week.

However, some see more than one problem with the scenario.

“If it was two years ago, it shows he was committing adultery, because he was married and he just got divorced [from] his wife,” Davis said.

Some also contend that Stubblefield is not being honest—that he was engaging in fornication even recently.

A woman who only identifies herself as “B. Coll” took to her blog to claim that she had been in a sexual relationship with Stubblefield, but broke it off when she allegedly discovered in September that he had tapes with other women. She posted some clips to her blog, but later took them down.

“Here I am thinking I’m the only woman he’s dealing with in a physical capacity and how dumb of me to believe that! Not only is he putting the lives of these women at risk, because there are tons more, but he uses his position of power as a pastor to do these things,” Coll wrote. “He gets up on Sundays and preaches against every sin he’s committing in these videos.”

Her blog, and the videos that were posted therein, are reportedly what resulted in Stubblefield’s confession to the congregation.

Stubblefield says that he had deleted the recorded files, but they were recovered somehow without his knowledge. He is considering filing criminal charges against those who obtained the videos and has kicked them out of the church.

“They were deleted on the computer and the files were recovered and kept against my knowledge for seven months to basically use against me,” he asserted to Fox 26.

And while he refuses to step down from the pulpit, Stubblefield professes to have learned from the matter.

“Watch what you do today because it could haunt you tomorrow,” he stated. “Just make sure you are as accountable as you can be for your actions at all times.”

1 Thessalonians 3-5 reads, “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication, that every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor—not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God.”

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 also instructs, “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body, but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

REPENT ………………….

    • Robert

Our wels church works differently than baptist in this .He wonu lnot be a pastor. In any of our churchs any longer even after he repented. A wels pastor has to be above reproach . We’re just mean I guess..

      • Amos Moses

oh i agree …. he should be permanently removed from ministry and/or other positions ……

  • BravesFan

    (How’d I do?)

    • Amos Moses

Gosh, it is really good ….. if you ever switch sides you would make a great crybully …….

      • BravesFan

        Thank you, good sir!

    • Grace Kim Kwon

“Judge not” is not the only command. God also commanded to expel a willfully-unrepentant man from Church. If he was truly repentant, he’d refrain from the church leadership position for a long time for the things he did. The fruit shows the tree. The Word of God also prohibits setting such man as a church leader. Read 1 &2 Corinthians, 1 &2 Timothy, and Titus.

      • Bunnygirl

It just keeps happening all over the place.

        • Grace Kim Kwon

Yes, sad. Mankind now have the copies of the Holy Bible the deception does not have to be permanent for anyone.

      • BravesFan

I was joking. Amos got me. You can read my comments under the Clayton Jennings post. I constantly got Matthew 7:1 thrown at me, so I decided to play a joke on this one.

        • Grace Kim Kwon

I see. It’s true the liberals never read the Holy Scripture. If you constantly get Matthew 7:1 thrown at you, you must be a man of truth who shares the Word of God in this era. The Lord bless you.

    • Ken Faivor

God and everybody else……He was caught.

    • Daniel

Not judging. Judging would mean we believe he will go to hell for his actions. The Bible states that a pastor should be pure. He is not qualified to lead this flock anymore. He can repent and then once he feels he can seek another flock then do so.

      1 Timothy 3:2

“Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one
wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to

    • tompinva

      Not good……..wrong context for scripture.

      • BravesFan

Re-read… I was playing the opposite side. It’s all a joke. Every time I tried to cite Scripture under the Clayton Jennings post, someone tried to tell me I “shouldn’t judge,” so I just turned it about here. I got y’all good!

        • tompinva

HA! Had a feeling about that….good one.

  • Grace Kim Kwon

Men are trustworthy even if they have sound doctrines and are clean on women and money – no lust or greed.

“But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were
also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” ( 1 Timother chapoter 6)

    • Amos Moses

i think you meant UNtrustworthy ….. but ….. i always like reading your stuff Grace ……. the peace of Christ be with you and your family in the coming year …………..

      • Grace Kim Kwon

Thank you! The Lord bless you this year, too! I pray that American Christians can retain freedom under the Trump presidency. Your freedom is our freedom, literally. Most of free democratic nations are under USA’s breath. If you are oppressed, we would be, too. We are together as His. Regarding the above commment, I did mean the men with sound Christian doctrines and chastity and selflessness are trustworthy. I changed my wording a little bit. I appreciate your comments very much, too. They are true and very funny time to time 🙂

        • Daniel

Grace, Christians in America were under attack during the Obama Presidency. Christians in America have hope that we are at the period known as the” Great Harvest” that will be bestowed upon mankind just before the Tribulation comes. We have been given a reprieve with Trump. Now the work begins to convert and or save tens of millions of people for Jesus Christ. After this period, rest assure the tribulation will not be far behind. Read about Dumutru Duduman and Pastor Ephrain Rodriguez from Puerto Rico. What nation are you from Grace?

          • Grace Kim Kwon

Yes, amen! There are children; please never give up and never submit to sodomites and atheists in USA. I’m from north-eastern parts of Asia, quite mixed in multiple ways.

  • Bill Will

Meanwhile, The Lord is pouring out His Spirit on China. It is possible China has more Christians than The USA and Europe combined; likewise, it is possible Africa has more Christians than The USA and Europe combined!
Praise The Lord for His faithfuless!

    • urbanvrwcmom

On another conservative website, i knocked a white, racist so-called “Christian” on the ropes by telling her that African and Chinese Believers are better Christians than some American Christians. In those areas, the saints willingly endure persecution and face death for their refusal to renounce Christ. We American Christians are more concerned about having the latest creature comforts and toys. Things that become obsolete six months later after spending gobs of money on them. The steadfast focus on Christ by persecuted Believers in other countries should humble American Christians. May we learn to be as bold as they are.

      • Bill Will

God bless you, and yes i agree 100!

  • Charlie_Feather

Was he making educational sex tapes with his wife? There should be nothing wrong with that.

    • Jacob Burke Jr.

Nope, as the article notes that (assuming he was telling the truth) the last one was 2 years ago and that this guy just got a divorce fairly recently.

      • Daniel

When did divorce become okay in the Church?

        • Jacob Burke Jr.

Never said it was. The divorce was mentioned in the article and I mentioned that reference in the initial comment.

      • EjB

    • Ken Faivor

I don’t know you but if you’re a Christian, I can’t believe you said that.

      • Charlie_Feather

Well, when it comes to sex education, someone has to do it. Anyway, I was just curious about the nature of these sex tapes. Were they for commercial purposes, like pornography, or were these educational in nature?

        • Daniel

Sounds to me like Charlie is looking to purchase these “commercially” available tapes for his own consumption. Charlie, when you speak, your words reveal the depths of your soul. You said, “curious” and “commercial” which tells me you are a procurer of pornography. I am not judging, just saying. Porn is an addiction many of us men fall to, including myself. Sinning is different than living a life of sin. Not one of us goes a day without sinning in one way or another. Few understand that the sins we commit begin in our hearts. Satan is so subtle. If you watch a movie and want one of the characters to be killed off then you have committed the sin of murder because then sin was in your heart. Bringing the sin into the physical world is not important if it is in your heart. Sin is that easy. That is why Jesus came to save us from ourselves. This preacher is held to a much higher standard than being a simple follower. He must step down to free the congregation from his sins as they will sin with him if they allow him to stay.

          • EjB

If you watch a movie and you wish in your heart that a pretend character would get knocked off in a pretend plot, you are guilty of murder? Wow, that’s a stretch.

          • Charlie_Feather

On would be guilty of pretend murder.

          • EjB

            That’s good:)

          • Charlie_Feather

No, I don’t want to purchase any of these tapes. Besides, pornography is widely available for free.

I was just wondering if these tapes were for educational purposes, for commercial purposes, or just souvenirs to be shared with family and friends?

Depending on the case, he may have committed an offense or none at all. That is what I am trying to understand.

        • EjB

          Who said they were educational?

          • Charlie_Feather

I don’t know. Were these tapes for educational purposes, for commercial purposes, or just souvenirs to be shared with family and friends?

Any of those situations might aggravate or mitigate the “offense”, depending on the case.

  • Chuck Tuthill

Another of many disqualified men and women who “shepherd” the flock of God.

  • Cyrano

    Drain the church swamp.

  • Joe Dokes

The reaction of the adulteress, as far as it’s quoted in the story, is fascinating. Not one hint of guilt for her own sin, at least as far as the quote goes. One might think she was the man’s wife herself, and has been totally wronged.

    • urbanvrwcmom

I noticed the lack of contriteness on the woman’s part too. It takes two to tango.

  • Cristina4Jesus

What a creep. HE should be kicked out, not the congregants who discovered this. Two years ago is VERY RECENTLY. I would never trust this man. He never told the congregation until a woman reported him. He was committing adultery. According the Bible, he is UNFIT for church leadership. IF he was a non Christian and did this and then repented, that is entirely different. But being a preacher and doing this — those people need to run him out of town with a pitchfork.

    • jcd0101

sin is corrosive – i know i sinned enough as well
you dont play with it and while no one is perfect
umm making sex tapes while being a pastor and again i assumed it wasnt his wife
thats fornication at a minimum and adultry – so he needs to be removed..

  • Ken Faivor

He did not confess his sins, he got caught…….big difference.

People in that church should leave and let him preach to himself if he won’t step down.

  • Ken Faivor

Anyway the man still looks wet behind the ears and strong in body. He should find a job that wears him down a little, and let life mature him some…..it would do him good.

I like to see a little gray of wisdom on a pastor’s head. It’s not a sure sign, but it helps……life’s rookies need not apply for this important mission.

Pro 16:31 The hoary head is a crown of glory; It shall be found in the way of righteousness.

  • Hobart

So, I’m a sinner, I’m sorry, all better. I won’t do it again until the next time. Here’s an idea, how about the congregation go to another church until this con artist gets kicked out?

Anyone that puts up with this behavior and continues to go to his services condones what he has done, and worse is an enabler.

  • jcd0101

umm look like most men i also needed to repent of a lot of sins
But i am NOT in ministry and making sex tapes while your a pastor
umm i dont think these were with his wife either
umm its called sins and while its in the past you cant counsel people
when your own heart is full of sins too

sorry but he has to go if necessary remove him by a vote and kick him to the curb..

  • Daniel

Trust. He has broken trust with his flock. He will never recover that trust with this congregation. This preacher needs to step down, repent and cleanse and then seek another flock if he thinks he can refrain from sinning again. Follow the steps of Jimmy Swaggert. Yes, you are just human and the power you had opened doors you should not have entered. Understandably, you fell. Now do the right thing for your flock and step away. Let the people of your congregation have what they need and seek, a trustworthy leader of their spiritual life. Preacher, remember this, God will judge his teachers more harsh than his believers. Matthew 18:6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” If there is even one child in that congregation that uses the pastors situation to justify his sin in the future then the preacher will be held to that passage.

  • EjB

This dude needs to be relieved of his position as pastor. He has shown no repentance for his sins.

  • Rodney

The Bible tells what to do in these situations.. Matthew 18;15-18;17…..send him down the road..he is not only not listening but dosent seem to care either..

  • Kevin Kev

Jesus helped a woman caught in the act of adultery. Prevented her from being stoned to death then told her to go sin no more. But to prevent division in the church it would be good for everyone if he stepped down and moved on to another church.

Who cares the people who claim they do not have more sex than the people who brag and claim they have sex with everyone. Religious or not does not mater you have sex. So some religious pastor decided to take pictures. Tell us where we can see it on XXNX and everyone will have a chance to enjoy it!

  • angryguy77

Not condoning what he did, but one has to wonder if his wife was one of the no sex types…..

  • Robert

So in baptist churchs if half the church wants him to stay and half the church wants him to go .would the caught pastor cast the deciding vote?

  • KayO

He should resign and get help-not as punishment, but as an opportunity to get counseling and overcome. He had the opportunity to discuss this temptation with others, but instead gave in to the temptation. His relationship with Jesus Christ is more important than his title, and he needs to focus on that relationship.

  • MrRex1949

Take in hand what the pastor indicated in the video. He said he had become a pastor for 12 years before being a pastor at that church. While he has committed himself toward God as forgiveness. He made a solemn vow to represent God. Yet while being a pastor of 12 years he broke his vows from God by doing sex tapes. Where was his faith when he made a vow to God to not sin then??? The fact he became a weaken vessel in faith towards God. He needs to make repentance to God and prove to God his vows towards God. As well as towards the people period. He loss the faith of the church going people. Along with the fellow Christians saved. As well put a (black eye) upon every faithful Christian church. The pastor needs to step down from duties of the church. As the pastor says he quit making sex tapes 2 years in past. So basically he was not true to God and sinned while being pastor or leading as a Christian brother then. Basically he needs to step down as pastor. Forgiveness of his sins is ok to do. But what he did was not right and not right in God’s eyes. Pray for him instead of comdening him. He knows he did wrong. A quotation from God. He who is perfect and without blemish. Shall cast the first stone. Are you that huh? I think not! Better to forgive then not forgive someone who sins. Think on this post here!
