HOUSTON, Texas — A “church” in liberal Houston, Texas hosted a mass “gay wedding” on Sunday following the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling declaring that all 50 states must legalize same-sex “marriage.”
The event took place at Resurrection Community Church and was officiated by three ministers, including leader Troy Treash.
“I’m happy to be a pastor who understands that God is love and to bless all loving relationships because that’s what God wants more for the world,” he told reporters.
45 homosexuals walked down the aisle with their partners as both their names were read by one of the ministers. They were then all assembled across the front of the sanctuary where the announcement was made, “These are our couples!”
A brightly-dressed choir sang and those lined up repeated their vows.
“I just didn’t think I would ever see the day, especially in the state of Texas,” participant Donna Galaviz told Pulse.com.
County clerks in Texas are now issuing “marriage” licenses to homosexuals. Some state leaders have declared, however, that clerks may refuse to do so for religious reasons.
