WASHINGTON — A secretly recorded video from an abortion advocates conference that is currently being reviewed by Congress features an abortionist encouraging those gathered to agree with pro-lifers that abortion is in fact the violent killing of a person.

The video was reportedly leaked from a Congressional staffer to the site GotNews, and was uploaded to YouTube. It features a panel discussion presented by the National Abortion Federation in April 2014. The footage provides audio of the conference, including from Lisa Harris of Planned Parenthood of Mid and South Michigan, who asserts that abortionists should agree with pro-lifers on some levels.

“Ignoring the fetus is a luxury of [abortion] activists and advocates,” she says. “You can’t ignore the fetus, right? Because the fetus is the marker of how well, how good of a job you did; right?

“If you don’t account for all the parts, and you don’t look carefully, you may be setting someone up for infection or hemorrhage or whatever. The fetus matters—clinically to us,” Harris continues.

She then notes that most women who come for an abortion know that they are killing a child.

“Not to mention that women know what’s in there. You know, about two thirds, over 60 percent of women are already mothers and the remainder don’t want to be mothers. They’re not stupid. They know what’s in there,” Harris explains.

The Planned Parenthood medical director advises that abortionists should agree with pro-lifers about the reality of what is taking place during an abortion.

“I actually think it should be less about denying the reality of those images and more about acknowledging, that, ‘Yeah that’s kind of true,’ so given that we actually see the fetus the same way, and given that we might actually both agree that there’s violence in here,” Harris says. “Let’s just give them [pro-lifers] all, ‘It’s violence. It’s a person. It’s killing.'”

“Let’s just give them all that,” she continues. “And then the more compelling question is, why is this the most important thing I can do with my life? … I don’t think it needs to be about correcting facts; I think it needs to be about moving the conversation to a different place.”

In another video leaked to GotNews, Uta Landy, who leads an abortion training program at the University of California San Francisco, reads comments from other abortionists who likewise admit the reality of the murderous procedure.

“I don’t like saying I’m dismembering a fetus. It makes me feel bad,” she reads. “An eyeball just fell down into my lap, and that is gross. But I say to myself, ‘This abortion is going well.’”

“My coping mechanism is to focus on the baby fetus—reverence for something that was once alive and now is not,” Landy continues.
