SUNBURY, Pa. — A woman in Pennsylvania who has been charged with murder for killing  a man she met on Craigslist has told reporters that she has committed over 20 murders as part of a satanic cult.

“When I hit 22 [murders], I stopped counting,” 19-year-old Miranda Barbour told the Daily Item on Saturday.

Barbour said that she was introduced into satanism at the age of 13, the same year that she had her first experience with murder. She explained that she accompanied the leader of the satanist group at that time as he went to confront a man that owed him money. After he shot the man, he turned to Barbour.

“Then he said to me that it was my turn to shoot him,” she outlined to the publication. “I hate guns. I don’t use guns. I couldn’t do it, so he came behind me and he took his hands and put them on top of mine and we pulled the trigger. And then from there I just continued to kill.”

Barbour said that the majority of the murders were committed in Alaska, but also in Texas, North Carolina and California.

“I wasn’t always there [mentally],” she said, advising that she also experimented with narcotic drugs. “I knew something was bad inside me and the satanic beliefs brought it out. I embraced it.”

Last November, as a newlywed of just three months, Barbour and her husband killed a man that she had agreed to have sex with for $100. According to reports, Barbour’s husband, 22-year-old Elytte Barbour, hid in the back seat of the car and then strangled 42-year-old Troy LaFarrara with a cord as Miranda Barbour knifed him 20 times.

She claimed that she was going to let LaFarrara go, but when he allegedly said it was okay when she told him (falsely) that she was only 16, she snapped.

“He said the wrong things and then things got out of control,” she said. “I can tell you he was not supposed to be stabbed. My husband was just supposed to strangle him.”

Barbour says that she has no remorse for her crimes and knows that if she had the opportunity, she would kill again.

“I know I wanted to talk about all this because I know I had a 20-year window where I would possibly get out of jail and I don’t want that to happen,” she stated. “If I were to be released, I would do this again.”

Police are now working with investigators and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) to understand more about Barbour’s involvement in homicide cases in other states.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for both Barbour and her husband in the killing of LaFerrara.
