Scantily-Clad Teenager Admits to Stealing Cash From Uber Driver’s Tip Jar: ‘That’s Life’

NEW YORK — A scantily-clad teenager was recently captured on camera stealing cash from her Uber driver, and says that if someone did the same to her, well, “that’s life.”

The 18-year-old girl, only identified as Gabby, can be seen looking toward the camera or rear view mirror, and then swiping money from the tip jar just before she hurries out of the car. The incident occurred in August, but was only recently brought to light.

Inside Edition caught up with Gabby, but she shrugged the matter off as not being that big of a deal.

“It was a kid thing to do,” she stated. “My friend paid him back that day.”

While the teen said she felt sorry “to an extent,” she also told the outlet, “It made me relevant. You are calling me.”

When asked how she would feel if someone similarly stole $5 from her, Gabby stated, “Then I lost $5. That’s life.”

Uber says that it revoked the teen’s account after the incident, but Gabby claims she is still using the app without issue. She also reportedly posted a photo to social media making light of the situation.

A number of viewers have expressed dismay at the lack of remorse from the teenager.

“Relevant from getting caught stealing? I would prefer being relevant helping a neighbor out or doing some good in the world,” one commented.

“No. 1: No, you are not relevant due to your ability to steal another person’s hard earned belongings. No. 2: By having your friend give him the money, you have negated on your responsibility to own up to your crime and become a ‘big girl,'” another wrote in outlining the various problems with the teen’s mindset.

“No. 3: No, it was not a ‘kid thing to do.’ It was theft, plain and simple. No. 4: Staring into a camera while stealing someone else’s money is not a mode of confidence. Rather, it is brazen stupidity and conveys an ‘I don’t care about anyone—not even myself’ attitude. Your age is not relevant here.”

“These kids are supposed to be our future leaders. Very sad and scary that she has no remorse and she thinks it is ok to do it,” a third lamented. “Kids nowadays have no morality.”

2 Timothy 3:2 states that in the last days “men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded [and] lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.”
