‘Just You, Father’: Video Shows Alabama Restaurant Owner Praying, Encouraging Employees in the Lord

FULTONDALE, Ala. — A video posted to social media captures a glimpse into what is stated to be a daily practice at Full Moon Bar-B-Que in Fultondale, Alabama as owner Tony Teichmiller delivers a Christian devotional to employees, followed by a word of prayer.

The video was posted by a patron Maria Jefferson on Dec. 17, who says she felt led of God to enter the restaurant that day instead of going through the drive through. Moments later, after placing her order, she was amazed as she saw Teichmiller begin reading a Scripture and encouraging employees in the Lord. Blessed by what she heard, Jefferson decided to record the moment with her phone.

“He said, ‘Where does my help come from?'” Teichmiller told workers, alluding to David’s words in Psalm 121. “And all my life I’ve tried to get help from every other place. I’ve tried drugs, I’ve tried alcohol, I’ve tried people, I’ve tried jobs, I’ve tried everything to get help from somewhere besides Him, and it has never worked—not one time.”

“When I cast my eyes on Him and try to get my help from Him, that’s where the true help is,” he continued. “It doesn’t always what we want it to look like, not always. [But] I look back on my life and I see every single time when I’ve looked to Him, it’s happened. … He’s very faithful. God is a faithful God; I promise you. But you’ve got to trust Him.”

Teichmiller then led attentive employees in a prayer.

“Father God, we thank You so much. We thank You that You are faithful and You are good, and that You want good for us. God, you tell us to look to You for our help,” he prayed. “And there’s going to be trials and tribulations here, but God, You are a faithful God, You are a constant God, You are a never-sleeping God, and You are a God that wants good for us and cares for us.”

“And we put our faith and our hope and our trust in You, Father—not people, not things, not chemicals—just You, Father,” the owner continued.

He prayed for those who work for the company, thanking God for them and asking for the Lord’s blessing upon their day.

“God, thank You for these people here. Thank You for the blessing that they are. God, just bless them, protect them, favor them. Let them feel Your love today and Your presence today, God. Show up in a special way,” Teichmiller asked.

“Holy Spirit, fill this place up today,” he continued. “Let every single person [that walks in the door] feel Your presence.”

The post has generated 120K views as of press time.

“I say it all the time: It’s not really about food and beverages; it’s about God and people,” Teichmiller told local television station CBS42. “We feel like if we get the God part right and the people part right, then the rest of it falls into place, and that’s exactly what’s happened here.”

1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”

Colossians 3:17 also exhorts, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.”
