Feel the Love Tonight? Rick Warren, Elton John Hold Hands, Joke About Kissing Before AIDS Panel

Warren JohnWASHINGTON — Controversial megachurch leader and author Rick Warren raised concerns Wednesday after joining hands with homosexual singer Elton John during a speech before a congressional hearing on AIDS funding, and joked what would happen if the two kissed.

“It would be the kiss heard ’round the world,” he said.

Photographs show the two raising their hands as they sat down to the witness table and laughing as Warren issued the caution to John. The incident drew concerns from Christians across the country.

“Elton John, the man who has worn more wigs and dresses than Marilyn Monroe, we expect this from. But Rick Warren claims to be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ,” wrote Geoffrey Grider of Now the End Begins.

“Here was his perfect opportunity to lovingly and graciously tell not only Elton John, but all of Congress, that without being born again they will die and go to a Devil’s Hell. But instead, he holds hands with a gay man, and jokes about kissing him,” he said.

Warren, the leader of the nearly 20,000 member Saddleback Church, is known for his best-selling book “The Purpose Driven Life.” Elton John, a world-renowned singer recognized for his hits “Candle in the Wind,” “Rocket Man” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” from the film “The Lion King,” is also known for his same-sex “marriage” to his partner David Furnish.

Warren, who believes that homosexual behavior is sinful, has raised concerns in the past for other statements made about homosexuality, including omitting any instruction that men must repent of homosexual behavior in order to be saved.

As previously reported, in 2012, during an interview with the Huffington Post, Marc Lamont Hill asked Warren if he believes homosexuals will go to Hell. Warren replied that they will not.

“No, not because they’re gay,” he said. “We go to Hell because we choose to reject the grace of God.”

When Hill asked what happens to a homosexual that accepts Jesus, Warren responded enthusiastically.

“He’s going to Heaven!” he declared. “Without a doubt.”

Warren has also expressed remorse for making a video in support of California’s Proposition 8, which sought to enshrine marriage as being between a man and a woman, because it was seen as his admonition to the nation.

“I learned that anything I say now privately is now public. And I actually learned from that mistake of going, ‘Oh, wait a minute, everybody took that like I was pontificating to the whole world,'” he said.

“I would not have [done it again],” Warren stated. “I would not have made that statement. I wanted to talk to my own people as a duty, because as a shepherd, I’m responsible for those who put themselves under my care. I’m not responsible for everybody else. I am responsible for the people who choose to be under my care and ask me a question.”

Concerns have additionally been raised over Warren’s call for Christians to unite with Roman Catholics, as he appeared at the Vatican last fall to speak at an interfaith conference on the “Complementarity of Man and Woman.”

“We have far more in common than what divides us,” he said in a video released by the Catholic News Service.

Wait, so if you’re straight you’re not even allowed to interact with a homosexual? This is ridiculous

    • MC

How did you get that from this article?

      • Bobby Mae

Oooh he was joking around with elton john and now it’s headline news.

        • BarkingDawg

          Is Rick really straight?

  • Jason

Shameful journalism, if it can be called that. Let’s flip the tables: “bigoted and hetrosexual writer, Heather Clark, sits behind a screen spreading slander about two men attending an AIDS congressional hearing that she failed to acknowledge.

  • JH

Our founding fathers all wore wigs

    • MC

Not for the pleasure of androgyny.

      • BarkingDawg

FYI, the practice of wearing wigs in that era came about because one of the consequences of syphilis infections was hair loss.

  • Maria Wilson

Rick Warren is not telling the truth to this people ,always sugar coating the message ,homosexuality is a SIN and the wages of sin is death .Homosexuals can be forgiven only if they leave the sin (all of it and never practice it again )and accept Lord Jesus in their lives ,then they will be saved .

    • MisterPine

Translation: You demand that they live loveless and sexless lives because Jesus.

      • Reason2012

No, the translation is: When they face God they’ll realize the huge mistake they made rejecting God’s forgiveness and demanding to live in sin just to be cast into_hell and rejecting eternal life. It’s like living it up for a weekend to die on Monday and lose 50 years of life, except in this case it’s an eternity. Sad choice.

        • MisterPine

Anyone who believes that needs their heads examined. It’s not a sin to fall in love.

          • STQ

What if you fall in love with a child…or several people…or an animal… or your very own child??? falling in love, or lust?

          • MisterPine

So you’re comparing all these non-consensual and abusive acts to homosexuality which is consensual, and saying that homosexual love isn’t love at all but lust? Do I understand your rather baffling statements correctly?

          • STQ

who said anything about being non-consensual? I am not the final Judge of ASNYONE, but if getting to heaven is the object….then read this…. these are not MY words…. Romans 1:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

            28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

I used to believe that, not anymore. I came to the conclusion that the Bible was nothing more than the writings of man claiming to speak on God’s behalf.

          • LadyFreeBird<God'sNotDead

Wow . When you come face to face with God. You will see the truth of what you gave up.That is very sad.

          • MisterPine

I think we both know that’s not gonna happen.

          • LadyFreeBird<God'sNotDead

I think you know in your heart that YOU are wrong.
            Shalom <

          • MisterPine

You are incorrect. I sleep very well at night.

          • Lynne

So does most serial killers…but um being in darkness does not equate to restless sleep. Wish it did…the world would be safer. Those who have a seared conscious usually do. That’s the irony. If you weren’t…it may be a better prospect for you. It’s called ‘callous’ & I certainly hope its not ” And because they decided in themselves not to know God, God handed them over to a worthless mind so that they would be doing whatever is inappropriate,” Romans 1:28 Just a hint: This is a dreadful judgement 🙁

          • MisterPine

So you are comparing atheists to serial killers?

          • Lynne

I’m using your argument that sleeping better means you are okay. YOU are comparing in a different way?

          • MisterPine

I sleep well at night without the need of a savior.

          • Angel Raez

The ‘Lynne’ user already addressed that. So do serial murderers.

          • MisterPine

Are you attempting to draw some kind of comparison?

          • AliceBella

Seems like the sleeping well at night without a Savior means nothing huh?

          • MisterPine

Yes, I enjoy sleeping knowing there isn’t a monster who demands that I submit to his will or die in everlasting fire.

Also thumbing up your own comments is in poor taste.

          • LadyFreeBird<God'sNotDead

You may think you are in peace now with your Rejection of God. It will be in the after life in eternity when you will lose what you think is peace. I will continue to Pray for you to be Delivered and to be saved through Salvation.
            Shalom <

          • MisterPine

You are putting words in my mouth now. I don’t reject God, only your conception of God.

          • LadyFreeBird<God'sNotDead

The way you talk to Christians proves differently .

          • MisterPine

That’s part of your problem right there – where does this snobbery come from, this elitism? ALL Christians are Bible-believing, not just you fundamentalists. And in case you have forgotten, the hymn goes, “They’ll know we are Christians by our LOVE” – so why all the hate?

          • LadyFreeBird<God'sNotDead

Through the Bible , it tells us to reach out to the lost. So we try. Although we are often Rejected and Hated because of it. The Bible tells us we will be hated. We are as Christians to speak out against (((sin))) *MisterPine* The Bible speaks of a time when there will be a great falling away. ((you)) are part of that as you walked away from what you once had through the Bible. You can hate us ((Bible Believing) Christians and call us names all you want. All you are doing is proving to us the truth and reality of the Bible . And the Word of God. The Bible says that in the end times as we know it many will Reject the truth. In the Old Test. God set up Watchman on the walls. Christians are like that we are to warn the people . We are to reach out and to speak out against sin. If we speak out and they Reject Their Eternity is on their own heads, hands and heart. BUT, if we do not Try than their blood will be on our head, hands and heart. I Stand in the Gap for your soul. And I Pray for you.
As long as I have life here I will not stop.Even if I never know the outcome on this side of life. When the Holy Spirit put someone on my heart to stand in the Gap for them I will.
            Shalom <

          • STQ

Maybe you wanted your own way so you convinced yourself it wasn’t true. Just always always remember: Life is just a few short years compared to Eternity, which never ever ends and we never get out! …” For what if some do not believe? Let God be true and every man a liar.

          • MisterPine

Maybe no one was able to convince me why a bunch of ancient books were written by God and not by human beings. And maybe I would like to make this life count with things that matter and not waste it preparing for an eternity that might not even exist,

          • STQ

Do you know anything about Biblical Prophecies? And what makes more sense than the Biblical account of life? You can risk that if you want, but for me ,….. life is too short to risk an Eternity in Hell fire and brimstone forever and ever! What things matter more than what God wants? Besides, God also says in Romans 1 that because of the things that are created, man is without excuse…. Where there is design, there is a Designer. Common sense tells us that. The fool has said in his heart there is no God…. I choose to believe.

          • April Johnson

If you don’t believe that the Bible is a supernatural work of God, look into Bible prophecy. God told us in His word thousands of years ago what the world would look like today and it is exactly so. Not in broad terms, but in detail. Time is very short. Soon the Lord Jesus will come for His church, the true believers. Then the tribulation will begin. I hope you see the truth and come to a saving knowledge of Christ before you are left behind.

          • MisterPine

What detail do you mean? The world appears that way because you choose to se it that way. I’m not going to belabour the point, but Google Bible prophecies sometime….from both perspectives.

          • April Johnson

I have been a student of Bible prophecy for years. Not casually but intently. I don’t need Google. Believe what you want, but nothing will change what I believe. I know that Satan is a liar and deceives many. I have a personal relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ and there is a link between my heart and His that I can feel in every fiber of my being. He is the air I breathe. With Him I can have joy unspeakable no matter what is going on in the world. With Him I can have peace in the knowledge that He is in control. With Him I can rest assured knowing that He will be coming for me soon and that I will spend eternity with Him in paradise. I am sorry that your heart is hardened and you don’t believe. The truth of God is everywhere and I pray that you find it before it is too late.

          • Jade

As a woman, do you really like the second class status that you are given in the scriptures? Or do you just read what you want to with your religious blinders on?

          • AliceBella

The second class status of being told that I should be wed to & committed in Holy matrimony vs. using my body for lust and any accidental children killed, or that my husband is told to love me like Christ loves the church? Or, that I’m fully equal and with my own unique design just as my husband has? Sounds like you are confused into thinking being sexualized, denied womanhood and free to twerk in front of strangers who don’t give a piss about you is freedom. You took the wrong pill alice.

          • Jade

Wow, I did not expect such a sour response, you must be a “Holy Roller” on an emotional low. Let’s start with the NT since the OT is even worse. Paul says a man is responsible to Christ and a woman is responsible to her husband. A woman dishonors her husband if she prays without a head covering and if she refuses she should cut off all her hair. Man was made in God’s own image, but woman was the glory of man. A man was not made for woman’s benefit but woman was mad for man. So woman should wear a head covering as a sign of her husband’s authority because the angels are watching. Women should be silent during church meetings. It is improper for women to speak in church meetings. Wives must submit to your husbands in everything. I do not let women teach men or have authority over them. Younger women are likely to become lazy and spend their time gossiping from house to house, getting into other people’s business and saying things they shouldn’t. These writings are from Paul and show his belief that women are 2nd class human beings. I can review the OT but I warn you that it is much worse!

          • mark

I love your argument. “I believe what I believe, you can’t change it, I’m not right. Now change your beliefs before it’s too late.”

          • April Johnson

Quotation marks are for direct quotes, not paraphrases. I didn’t say I’m not right. I know I am. It is your choice whether to believe or not. It is your choice where you will spend eternity. May God show you the truth. Be well.

          • Lynne

Yeah, like declaring the world round in ancient book of Job…when it was still thought to be flat. Or revealing DNA/genetics in Genesis (“after its kind” & the understanding now of how selective selection on the great Ark allows for genetic reproductions), or prophecies down to the letter including but not limited to Christ in Isaiah and how they would gamble for his clothes, or tons of Archeological data more consistent & reliable than your modern books incl Darwism whom was a Believer & when his child dies became a God hater, whom you may follow. In fact, your kindred, in the form of ‘scientist’ tried to disprove the Holy Scriptures for decades until Dead Sea Scrolls made a fool of them. Feel pity for anyone rejecting Holy Scripture then who died before the evidence was refuted of the atheist. Bad decision :O ! Or the secular eye witness to Lord Jesus Christ [see Lee Strobel, Case for Christ] whom was an award winning journalist & atheist trying to disprove Lord Jesus Christ & as he gathered his evidence became a believer. Or the countless lives changed as they received the word of good ground & were reborn as evidenced even by the history of only the church willing to go into Black Plague areas & care for poor, setting up 1st hospitals & even Universities like Harvard. Being Abolitionist & helping to end slavery, etc. I could go on & on…but somehow I got the feeling that this may apply sadly to you: 1 John 2:19

“They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.”

          • AliceBella

Awesome share. I’m a fan. I noticed he dissed you for liking what you believe. I’ve seen that on forums a lot. He probably just cant stand that you speak with truth he cant reasonably rebuff.

Alice you ARE Lynne. Stop pretending like you didn’t create a second account.

          • Lynne

Bobby…lol If a ‘second’ account was created, just check the user & how long they have existed it’s real easy. I seriously doubt Alice’ just created an account…so go check out the creation of it, I find that stuff all the time on FB/Google for new friends. You are kinda paththic…and still ignoring the points.

          • Bobby Mae

If it’s consensual then it really doesn’t concern you does it sweety. Strange how you’re concerned about sex. We live in a big country , people are having freaky sex RIGHT NOW. do you want to hire a police force and go bust down their door? Weirdo

          • Lynne

Um…okay, so you bring up an argument about consensual & sexuality…then when I answer it you attack b/c you have no reasonable argument to rebuke it. No Felicia. Im saying that if it’s consensual I support it.

          • BarkingDawg

I am in love with my very own child. He is the light of my life. I would sacrifice everything for him.

            How is that wrong?

          • Reason2012

You don’t marry your very own child, which is the point. There’s more to marriage than just “love”.

          • BarkingDawg

            So?

The fact that I can’t, nor do I want to marry my own child does not make the relationship of two consenting adults wrong or undeserving of the civil institution of marriage.

          • Reason2012

If your child is one of the “two consenting adults” you still do not marry him. The point is “two consenting adults” or “love” is not the end all you claim it is, and even you admit this.

Marriage is one man and one woman. The government redefining the religious institution of marriage it never defined to begin with to be whatever others want is a violation of the Constitution: make laws respecting an establishment of their own State religion.

          • Jeanine Schaefer

Why CAN’T you? It is already legal in NJ to have an incestuous marriage. So in a little time, you COULD. Of course, legal, doesn’t make something right. But you COULD. And the way things are progressing, it won’t be long until marrying a child is considered ok as well. Marriage has to be about more than just love, there must be a purpose a well. If it’s just about love, then you get people marrying anybody or anything until the “feeling” wears off. There are now stories of people marrying cats, dolphins, and even a bridge worldwide. In the US, a father and daughter just got married in NY. She was very young.
this effects all of us socially, economically, and as the children developmentally suffer, so does the nation.

          • BarkingDawg

Even if it was legal, I would not do it. It makes no difference to me.

          • Jeanine Schaefer

If you would or would not do it, was not the point.

          • Angel Raez

You are ignoring his or her point.

          • Barbara E. Ward

Nothing wrong with what you have described. I’m assuming though that you would never entertain the idea of having sexual relations with your child.

          • BarkingDawg

No. What does that have to do with anything?

          • LadyFreeBird<God'sNotDead

STQ is not talking about loving our Children . You know what STQ is talking about. You are not as funny as you think you are.

          • Reason2012

Yes, if you wish to believe all of this “just happened”, that’s just willful ignorance on our part.

So an adult can marry his dad? Or is that a case that trumps “love”?
Can three men get married? Or is that another case that trumps “love”?

Marriage is more than just “love”.

          • MisterPine

Slippery slope arguments only serve to make you look ridiculous. In the real world as we know it there are people whose sexual attraction can only be towards the same gender, and they fall in love with one person just like everyone else. And they aren’t dads and sons, and they aren’t people and dogs, and they aren’t people and house plants. Willful ignorance is all yours – we have the science on this.

          • James

So how do you answer to the fact that many “throuples” are now pronouncing themselves as married and that at least 90% of those proudly promoting their three way marriage are gay? The slippery slope is indeed real and happening now.

          • MisterPine

They are extremely rare, especially since it isn’t legal, and why would you want to blame homosexuals for it? Could such an arrangement not contain straight people?

          • James

Really? The news and the internet strongly disagrees with you. It may be illegal for now but that has not stopped many from exploiting it. Such an arrangement can contain straight people, however they did not contact the New York times and other media outlets to promote it.

          • MisterPine

Tell you what, why don’t you find for me a list of all the gay “throuples” who are queuing up to get married, and then do the same for all the gay couples interested in living monogamous, loving relationships? You seem to think that exploiting holes in the law is the reason people are doing it and completely overlooking the far more obvious case of two people in love wanting to get married. I don’t know why it’s so hard for some of you to understand that homosexuality is just a reversal of the poles of attraction – apart from that, everything is the same.

          • Angel Raez

Same sex is not real love but a selfish act of gratification just as with any sin of an sexual nature.

          • Bobby Mae

            Proof?

          • MisterPine

Why would you think there is no love between homosexual couples? Considering that they are couples just like every other couple.

          • AliceBella

People who genuinely love as God teaches us do not engage in trespassing Gods the moral law with each other, they want their best & all the LORD wants for us is what is good…so consensual homosexuality, fornication, adultery, addictive drug abuse, etc= is not love. However, I’m sure genuine care and affection is felt.

          • MisterPine

I see, and when YOU fell in love, did you spend one single second worrying about whether God would approve, or did you simply fall in love and enjoy all the warm and loving sensations associated with it? Why then should it be any different for any homosexual person?

Also, why are you comparing things like drug abuse to homosexuality? There is no reason to compare the two at all. Consensual love hurts no one.

          • James

I have a better idea, why don’t you do your own research before posting statements that you claim are facts. It took me exactly .3 seconds to find the information. Regardless, the events that have transpired over the last few years show that it is so much more than ‘just two people in love”. Why does big business pour so much money into “two people in love”? Why does the gay community always respond with death threats, hatred, ridiculous lawsuits, and boycotts if it is “just two people in love”. Why does the LGTB resort to made up name calling (which don’t even make since) spread across headlines in an effort to destroy the lives of anyone who gets in their way? I don’t know why it’s so hard for some people to understand that this is more than “two people in love” it is money, power, and control. Money for big business, money for the politicians, money for the ACLU. It is not “just two people in love” it is redefining the entire definition of marriage to please a small minority backed by big business.

          • MisterPine

All right, well first of all you probably shouldn’t suggest that we are inundated with threesomes itching to get married – for one thing, the law isn’t going to allow it, and more to the point, if you’re using that to make homosexuals look like some kind of freakshow, it won’t work because there have been homosexuals as long as there have been human beings. Homosexuals aren’t looking for special rights. Just the same ones everyone else has – to marry the one person they love.

“WHY does big business pour so much money into “two people in love?” – maybe because they are a demographic of human beings that exist and deserve respect?

“Why does the gay community always respond with death threats, hatred, ridiculous lawsuits, and boycotts if it is “just two people in love?” – I think you’ll find that they DON’T respond with “death threats”, in fact they are the ones FACING threats of death, judgement, injury, etc. from Christians. As for lawsuits, yes – I think it’s good and just and proper that bigots who don’t like homosexuals and don’t want to serve them are taken to task for hatred.

“Why does the LGTB resort to made up name calling (homophobic is so inaccurate it is not even funny) spread across headlines in an effort to destroy the lives of anyone who gets in their way?” – Are you SERIOUSLY asking this question, on a forum where I’ve seen with my own eyes people call male homosexuals ‘turd burglars” and lesbians “fur traders”? Who is trying to destroy WHOSE lives here? Maybe if you left homosexuals alone to live their lives in peace without attacking them, taunting them, mocking them, judging them and so on, they wouldn’t find it necessary to stand up to you.

“Money, power and control?” What does any of that have to do with wanting to live lives free of hate and bigotry, which is all they are doing?

I’m sorry, yours was a paranoid schizophrenic rant that I cannot take seriously.

          • James

Aww and there we go again with the name calling, for most a last resort and yet for you first and always. Paranoid Schizophrenic, lol. I am not paranoid at all, I am not afraid of homosexuals. My best man at my wedding was homosexual as well as many of my best friends in college. The difference, they respected my beliefs and I respected theirs which is an approach that you obviously have not considered. They did not threaten to sue me when I told them I could not officiate at their wedding, they found someone else. Wow, mutual respect, too simple for you huh?

Now for your misguided attempt to belittle me. First of all, my reply was to your erroneous claim that there was no slippery slope and I just pointed out that it had begun and that your beloved LGBT community was promoting it. As for “to make homosexuals look like some kind of freakshow” I do not have to do anything on that count, it has already been taken care of, just attend one of your parades. Most of your demonstrations reinforce the stereo type that you so desperately are trying to escape.
“Big business is a a demographic of human beings that exist and deserve respect?” If you truly believe this then you are delusional. They care about money, thats all. If they can use your agenda to promote their business and make more money all the better. Once they are done with you the move on to the next ‘cause”. Try researching who is really behind this agenda and why, you will see that you have been blinded again by corporate America

“You’ll find that they DON’T respond with “death threats”, in fact they are the ones FACING threats of death, judgment, injury” Really? Obviously again you do not read the news. EVERY time someone stands up against the LGBT beliefs their are in fact over run with hatred, death threats, boycotts, etc. This poisonous agenda had even infiltrated the schools where children are being threatened just for wearing a T Shirt with a company logo.
Maybe if you had left true Christians alone to live their lives in peace without attacking them, taunting them, mocking them, judging them, they wouldn’t find it necessary to stand up to you.The homosexual community has openly declared war on Christians (not Muslims, not Jews, not atheists that do not support them, only the Christians). Guess what, it’s not the Christians attacking you in the streets, it’s not the Christians throwing your brothers off buildings, it’s not the Christians spreading the hate, and yet you chose to attack us.. You target Christian businesses for money, self promotion and fame, not out of love for each other, but out of hate against us.. I mean really, the couple that sued the bakery listed 116 instances of ‘emotional and physical duress’ over a stupid wedding cake. And yet you call me a a paranoid schizophrenic. Your lawsuits again show that your true agenda is not equal rights, it is the annihilation of anyone that opposes you and the blatant ignorance of the rights of others to disagree with you

As for the rest of your rant, you obviously are one sided and do not partake of any knowledge outside of what you claim to possess. I wish you luck with your agenda.

          • MisterPine

I, and many people, would have no problem respecting your beliefs if they didn’t so often choose to cause pain and hardship to other people. You continually refer to an agenda of homosexuals declaring war on Christians. Why on earth would a homosexual care in the slightest about what a Christian does? Unless, of course, that Christian was trying to oppress homosexuals. And that’s what we’re dealing with.

You can spin this all you like. You are NOT the injured party here. How would you like to go round up all the homosexuals you can find who are trying to tell Christians that they cannot get married? How about homosexuals refusing to provide services like baking simple CAKES for Christians? How about finding me one homosexual who’s preaching that Christians should be killed by the army?

Have a look-see at this list, and then tell me that there is anything even REMOTELY close to this going on with homosexuals in regard to Christians!

You really waste your time with ‘selected quotes” to serve your agenda. Your scope of reality is really limited sir. I can also supply hundreds of hate quotes from your supposed leaders to but why waste time. You have chosen who to serve and so have I. Good luck

          • MisterPine

            Selected quotes? HELLO?

This is a LIST of American pastors who actively would like to see Homosexuals KILLED.

Has the ENORMITY of that statement not sunk in? You want to provide me with ONE homosexual statement that proposes KILLING Christians?

Give your head a shake. I repeat: You are NOT the injured party here.

          • James

            Ok, I’ll play:

“should be dragged behind a pickup truck until there’s nothing left but the road.”- Dan Savage LGBT leading activist speaking of a Christian

“We need to get them in November!”, Balof shouted, declaring Christians and Republicans to be the enemy of all gays and thus deserving of scorn, malice, and whatever tactics patrons might employ to “teach them a lesson they won’t forget” – Bradley Thomas Balof school teacher and gay activist who frequently hosts anti Christian parties and events.

FBI interview, where he said his plan was to “kill as many people” as he could. – Floyd Corkins after entering the Family Research Council building in D.C.with Chik Fil A sandwiches he intended to rub in the faces of his victims (Christians) after he killed them and a loaded pistol.

“Burn their f—ing churches to the ground, and then tax the charred timbers,” wrote “World O Jeff” on the JoeMyGod blogspot today within hours of California officials declaring Proposition 8 had been approved by a margin of 52 percent to 48 percent.

On the “Queerty” website, “Stenar” asked, “Can someone in CA please go burn down the Mormon temples there, PLEASE. I mean seriously. DO IT.”

“I’m going to give them something to be f—ing scared of. … I’m a radical who is now on a mission to make them all pay for what they’ve done,” wrote “Jonathan.” on a popular gay website.

There are thousands of “quotes like these but once again, you failed to research before posting.

And just FYI do not cry to me about victims sir, you have no clue. As I have stated before, I had 3 homosexual relationships in my life so I know the world you cherish. The problem is all three were before I was 9 years old. I understand that not all of your brethren are like these sick individuals, but do not waste your time with me pleading the poor victim of society. Homosexuals victimize people just like heterosexuals do, but in a rainbow world, no one likes to admit it. REALITY is a hard thing to except but your denial of facts does not change truth.

          • MisterPine

Thanks for playing. But you fail.

These are largely hyperbole spouted by angry people IN RESPONSE to the exact kind of hatred and intolerance I am talking about. Think about this for a moment: what reason has ANY homosexual got to attack a Christian, unless that Christian has FIRST tried to go after their human rights, deny them the rights they are entitled to? This is simple CAUSE and EFFECT. If you don’t like the effect, don’t be part of the cause! Is it so hard for you to practice your faith without stomping all over the basic human rights of others?

What is the cause, then, of a Christian pastor calling for the execution of homosexuals? What, pray tell, did ANY homosexual do to warrant that? Answer: nothing. Except engage in a loving relationship with another person which is none of that pastor’s business – or anyone else’s. How odd that you should need to have this explained to you,

As for your sexual abuse, it’s equally sad that you do not know the difference between homosexuality – a consensual act – and pedophilia, which is an act of abuse of a minor.

          • James

Lol did not fail. You came to a Christian website in an attempt to promote your agenda and you failed miserably. Cause and effect is just and excuse used frequently by LGTB activists to explain their exploitation of the system. You try to come here and preach woe is me and I just want equal rights to “love”. And again you failed to address the atrocities committed by those on your ‘side’, you only try to project it on others.

Except engage in a loving relationship with another person which is none of that pastor’s business – or anyone else’s.

Really? It’s no one’s business and yet you find it necessary to promote your lifestyle choice in the media in an attempt to gain “hearts and minds”. You claim privacy and yet you frequently over run the media with all aspects of your agenda. Millions are starving but the media is focused on wedding cakes. The USA is again on the brink of a major war but it’s OK as long as Steve and Joe have wedding flowers.
“…. Except engage in a loving relationship with another person which is none of that pastor’s business – or anyone else’s”.e As for what is a Pastor’s business- when someone comes to a pastor asking for services it becomes their business. When a lesbian mayor abuses her power by sending undercover spies into a church under the ruse of ‘an investigation’ it becomes everyone’s business. When Christian business owners are attacked and exploited because they will not condone a lifestyle choice it becomes their business. When a business owner has to close because of threats from the LBTB community over a hypothetical situation it becomes everyone’s business. When careers are ruined because someone doesn’t want to endorse you it becomes everyone’s business. You want privacy? Maybe a good place to start is to keep your chosen lifestyle out of the media?

As for your definitions, again a waste of time because I know the difference. You want everyone to believe that your are the victims while refusing to admit that not all homosexuals are just wanting to “love” who they choose and are all are innocent. Just to be clear I will use both words in a sentence. The pedophiles that abused me were homosexual. See even gullible Christians can for a sentence.

          • MisterPine

You were doing better before when you were actually researching information from the internet. Now you’re just wildly and wantonly attacking people you disagree with as having an “agenda”, myself included. If you want, you can call my crusade against faith-based hatred an “agenda”. I’d go along with that.

Cause and effect is not exclusive to “LGTB activists”, whatever THOSE are. Cause and effect is a principle found in nature and it goes a long way in sorting out issues like this.

“you find it necessary to promote your lifestyle choice in the media”

No one PROMOTES it, but there are gay and lesbian people in this world – would you prefer it if the media pretended they didn’t exist? That would be an ideal world for you, I realize, just as the bigots before you would have far preferred a world where black and white people didn’t coexist. But in the real world as we know it there are gay and lesbian people and the media is just doing what the media does, reflecting what it sees.

            “all aspects of your agenda…”

            There IS no agenda.

“Millions are starving but the media is focused on wedding cakes.”

Good point, so rather than funding bigots with GoFundMe campaigns, why don’t you donate money to those starving people?

“The USA is again on the brink of a major war but it’s OK as long as Steve and Joe have wedding flowers.”

What does one thing have to do with the other? Here’s a similar non-sequitur: “Global Warming is a huge problem, but it’s OK as long as Pat Robertson sucks in another 10 mil in phone donations.”

“As for what is a Pastor’s business- when someone comes to a pastor asking for services it becomes their business.”

But NOT, as in the example I gave, to trumpet to the world that homosexuals should be KILLED by the government. No gay people went to these “pastors” requesting a wedding, these “pastors” just decided to openly call for genocide.

“When a lesbian mayor abuses her power by sending undercover spies into a church under the ruse of ‘an investigation’ it becomes everyone’ s business.”

Depends on what the investigation is about, and I fail to see what the mayor’s sexuality has to do with anything.

“When Christian business owners are attacked and exploited because they will not condone a lifestyle choice it becomes their business.”

Then those “Christian” business owners should not have elected to run a business where they chose to discriminate illegally against people for “lifestyle” choices that are irrelevant to them as business owners.

“When a business owner has to close because of threats from the LBTB community over a hypothetical situation it becomes everyone’s business.”

Your fellow bigots did a nice job of making those people millionaires, so what exactly are you complaining about?

“When careers are ruined because someone doesn’t want to endorse you it becomes everyone’s business.”

Provide a less vague example, please.

“You want privacy? Maybe a good place to start is to keep your chosen lifestyle out of the media?”

The lifestyle isn’t chosen, no one has any control about the gender they are attracted to, and as I said before, the media isn’t going to ignore people you happen not to like because of YOUR chosen superstition.

“The pedophiles that abused me were homosexual.”

The pedophiles that abused you were pedophiles. That’s all that matters, their sexual preference is irrelevant. Pedophilia is illegal. Homosexuality is not.

          • Lynne

We prohibit_murder to protect people from killing each other.
We prohibit_incest to protect families against abuse and to avoid the chance of babies with genetic abnormalities.

We prohibit two people of same gender from being called a marriage (which it NEVER has in the history of the world) by the state as that’s the state violating the constitution to establish their own state religion: Redefining religious institutions they never defined to begin with.

We prohibit two people of the same gender from being called a marriage because the government is violating the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America by REDEFINING religious institutions then passing laws to establish this new state religion where anyone who does not adhere to this new state religion is condemned as a criminal: sued and fined thousands of dollars.

We prohibit two people of the same gender from being called a marriage because in general marriage is for the possibility of procreation for the continuance of society – it’s the bedrock of any healthy society. A same-gender marriage is, by design, never capable of such a thing and hence has one less basis of being called a “marriage”.

We prohibit two people of the same gender from being called a marriage because any pro-creation should be within a marriage – same-gender ‘marriages’ are forced to go outside the ‘marriage” 100% of the time by design. So we prohibit same-gender “marriage” to protect the foundation of a healthy nation.

We prohibit two people of the same gender from being called a marriage because kids have the right to be raised by their biological mother and father – same-gender marriages deny them this right 100% of the time, by design. So we protect kids from this by prohibiting any other form of “marriage” besides one man and one woman.

We prohibit two people of the same gender from being called a marriage because kids have the right to be raised by a mother and a father, not forced into setups that are dysfunctional 100% of the time and deny them this right: two or more fathers and no mother, or two or more mothers and no father. So we protect kids from being legally denied this right by prohibiting any other form of “marriage” besides one man and one woman.

We prohibit two people of the same gender from being called a marriage to protect Christians from being charged as a criminal if they do not violate their beliefs.

We prohibit two people of the same gender from being called a marriage because every single person alive has one biological mother and one biological father. Nature alone re-iterates what marriage is – that this is what a family is.

          • BarkingDawg

So, if it is impossible for two people to procreate, then they should not be allowed to enjoy the benefits of a civil marriage license, is that it?

          • Reason2012

Guess what, I know it’s hard to understand, but not everyone shares your religious beliefs, and given we don’t live in a theocracy as you wish we don’t have to live our lives the way YOU and YOUR god want us to. Unless you yourself are gay I find it strange you even think about homosexuality as much as you do based on your # of comments in this forum. What state do you live in? Gay marriage is legal RIGHT NOW, and aside from you voluntarily choosing to read media related to gay events how is it affecting YOU?

          • Reason2012

They don’t need to “share my religious beliefs”. It existed thousands of years before America did – people can choose to marry or not. To instead try to change the definition of it it via a new state religion is another matter entirely.

          • Bobby Mae

AaAah being gay is a religion now? OK, I’ll gladly take the tax break 🙂

          • AliceBella

It’s easy to understand because all Christians were once lost like you. Since you were never a born again Christian to began with, it’s actually hard for you to understand.

          • Bobby Mae

Haha OK, I’m glad you know my life after reading 3 comments of mine. You just lied so I hope you repent

          • Lynne

Dude, the rejection of Holy Bible & the Author is proof you aren’t born again.

          • Bobby Mae

Oh and I’m gonna take it you’re over 60yo because I don’t know ANYONE that’s getting married in order to procreate lol. I know change is hard but that’s no longer the reason people are getting married

          • Reason2012

Then using your logic incest between adults is just fine since they’re not getting married to procreate.

          • Bobby Mae

Umm who said they CANT procreate? They CAN. But for obvious reasons shouldn’t. but using YOUR logic couples that don’t want kids or physically can’t have kids should marry, right?

          • Reason2012

So again, using your logic incest between adults should be called a marriage since they’re not getting “married” to procreate. Now you see how broken your logic is.

          • Bobby Mae

Honestly I don’t really care. The hillbilly’s in west Virginia right now in incestuous relationships dont affect ME in any way and nor do they affect YOU unless youre secretly attracted to a family member. And just so we’re on the same page you’re aware that you’re currently allowed to marry your first cousin in some states right?

          • Bobby Mae

For having such a loving Savior, you Christians sure love to bicker

          • AliceBella

If your redefinition of bickering means defending the truth then it’s because we have had an encounter with a loving Savior and how sad it would be to not obey Him.

          • JH

It is one of the reasons that many do marry. No everyone but still many

          • Bobby Mae

And that’S fine, I’m all for people doing what they want to do as long as it’s consensual

          • AliceBella

People are no longer believe killing a child in the womb is wrong, or in NY to possess child porn. Doesn’t change God says it is evil and it is.

          • AliceBella

Same way it SHOULD affect anyone with natural love & concern for another? Better question is…why does that not affect YOU?

          • Bobby Mae

I’m a man..you’re a woman. If you know the Bible you should know you have no authority over me. Now be quiet.

        • LadyFreeBird<God'sNotDead

          Amen .

        • Bobby Mae

And yet that’s still their choice and doesn’t affect YOU in the slightest. Do you believe in individual freedom?

      • Lynne

I practice abstinence b/c I’m not married. I have love in a variety of relationships without sin. Fornication with someone is not loving them, neither same sex relationship, bestiality, sleeping with children, etc. I can go on…but yes b/c of Lord Jesus all His children should pick up cross & follow Him. In a nutshell. Also, my church has testimonies of people previously enslaved in some of those ways (in particular fornications, homosexuality) that found freedom & love in holy matrimony as God intended with opposite sex as nature also proves via natural reproduction.

    • Bobby Mae

Always easy to deflect your own sin by attacking others. What sin are you living in Maria?

      • https://www.facebook.com/Bobby7666 Robert Bilbrey

…Oh Go Sukk a Dikk you Perverted Fool LOL

        • BarkingDawg

Such language. Does your minister know you talk like that?

      • Barbara E. Ward

We all sin daily. But that does not mean that if I see someone committing a sin that I should not speak up and warn them of the consequences of such sin. All believers are to be held accountable to one another for their actions. We are to be repentant and not continue to commit the same sin over and over again. And yes, the bible tells us to remove the plank from our own eye before we try to remove the splinter from another. We can argue this point until the cows come home. The problem is not with the believers, however, it is with the secularists…those who have no belief system other than their own self and their own deeds. You can never change the mind of someone who adamantly insists there is no God, no Creator of heaven and earth, no heaven or hell, no eternal consequences to their choices and decisions, no purpose to our lives other than we are born, live and then die. When standing before God/Jesus, all will know the truth. But there will still be those who will deny Him. As believers we have to realize that we cannot save anyone. That is God’s job. We can only try to lead them in the right direction.

        • Bobby Mae

Yeah, thankfully I left the hypocritical gossip church a while back. My religious beliefs and faith are my own. if being a christian means going on to all christian forums and tearing people down then I’ll have no part of it. Doesn’t mean I don’t believe in God but I will have no association with “Christians.” As the famous quote goes “I like your Christ, but I don’t like your Christians. They are so not like your Christ.”

          • LadyFreeBird<God'sNotDead

I am sure that church has many more just like you.:(

          • Webb

“You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!” — James 2:19

Believing in God or that there is a God will do nothing for your soul.

          • Bobby Mae

YesYes, thank you oh holy one.

          • Jeanine Schaefer

The quote is Said by a man that was so not like Christ, either, but found it ok to judge ALL Christians without knowing any of them.

          • Bobby Mae

I do know some good Christians! Just haven’t met any on this site. Xoxo

          • Lynne

Yeah…I’m sure will never meet a good Christian unless they are a hypocrite in the real & truest sense by denying what Lord Jesus preached. Um…okay lol-crazy.

          • Bobby Mae

Honey why are you up voting your own comments? Does that boost your ego? It makes you look insecure

          • AliceBella

lol…I vote ‘honey’ on any comment I believe in. Gotta a problem with that? Seems like you are insecure to search who cares?

          • Bobby Mae

People upvote their own comments to give the illusion that other people are agreeing with them. See: delusional

          • Lynne

I think she kinda explained & so do I. Believers don’t need approval. The ‘vote’ is a yup! But if you are going by upvotes, please listen to all the rebuttal lol not associated with me or Alice? Um…not likely but if it will get you to seek God…okay!

          • AliceBella

Don’t let the bully in denial take you off track sweetheart.

          • AliceBella

Stop whining…I don’t know her personally. Didn’t you also accuse her of being me & she challenged you to verify I’m no new account. I’ve had my account for years. I saw your bully as I was reading & chimed in. She seems wise & more patient than I would be on your hiney! You need to hear everyone’s message that are Christians. People actually do care about your soul you know???????

          • Lynne

lol…thanks. Hey, friend me on FB?

          • AliceBella

I’m not on FB for years…but look me up on Google since you have a goggle account, I’ll also subscribe in your circle for YT.

          • Lynne

You can’t bee serious. I always vote on FB any Gospel verse & I like my comments when I can, if I believe in it. Have you contemplated them…including Lee Strobel? You REALLY need to humble heart & ask God if Christianity & Holy Bible is true…whatever it takes, please let you see & save you. I did this years ago. I’m saved out of New Age, Occult & The World. I hope it’s not too late. Silly distraction is a temp band aide but dude you need Christ (for real). The stuff you will face if you die in sin…I’ve seen a glimpse…and it is NOT what you might think. Regardless, may God bless you. I mean that. I’m assertive but my weeps for the lost. I remember being atheist/agnostic. But sadly…you cant know to have a real relationship (ups & downs) with GOD! I want that for you. The more you are deceived…the worst the rabbit hole is in trailing you away from truth. Except by Gods grace…I would be you.

          • Bobby Mae

1 Timothy 2:12″ I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. ” now be quiet honey

          • Angel Raez

Wow…so you take a verse out of context (actually line w/o including before or after) & ignore full content of all else. You are sick@

          • Bobby Mae

            corrigeme xfa

          • Jeanine Schaefer

You probably have, not EVERY Christian SAYS that they are one, makes a statement to that fact, or makes it that obvious.

          • expatconservative

The problem is you are judging these people, many apparently Christians by if they agree with you or not instead of if they accurately reflect the word of God or not.
Jesus said if you love me you will obey my Father. As someone already stated believing in God or that a God exists is not enough because He gave us His word, a map for our lives, which can not be ignored.

          • Bobby Mae

These people that like to point fingers at other while conveniently silencing their own problems are not Christians. I do know good Christians but I will absolutely call out the finger pointers who condemn people without mentioning a single detail of their own sin. I was raised going to church and to a christian school so I will absolutely chime in if I feel the need. Have a good night.

          • Angel Jabbins

Very sad about your church experience. That was an apostate church. Many today are calling themselves ‘christians’, but do not follow Christ or His teachings and one day they will hear Him say, ‘Depart from Me, I never knew you’. Truly they never knew the real Jesus…but a fake one, one they devised in their own image of what they wanted Him to be so they could just continue in their sins.

I hope you can find a true Christian church one day. Not too many out there any more, but there are still a few that holding to the true gospel of Christ and seeking to please Him.

          • Lynne

My ‘guess’ is that dude probably just wants to ‘be his own god’ & does not want truth. I came out of all kinds of false belief systems (of which I originally ran into b/c I wanted the lie) but God in His mercy had mercy on me & still sought me out to repentance. Only God knows his heart…but the Gospel is easily assessable in the USA so I doubt he wants to read & receive it, if he is not assessing it. Do as God leads…but please support the ministry reaching the lost with the Good News whom haven’t easy accesses.

          • Lynne

You leaving & being apostate name calling or anti-Christ is nothing new. That spirit was addressed in the early church & prophesized in last days. Folks whom haven’t heard the Gospel & want eternal life in righteousness still need to hear the Good News Gospel of Lord Jesus Christ before it’s too late. You choose your own end. Good luck with that lol-sad…

          • Psk6565

            Christ likes HIS Christians.

          • Bobby Mae

            I agree

          • Psk6565

Then you can see that Christ would not think anything of your half-hearted acknowledgement of Him. If you like Christ you will like His bride.

          • Bobby Mae

            Who is Christ’s bride? (Seriously)

          • Psk6565

Those that have been saved by Christ. Those that love Christ.

          • Bobby Mae

So you’re a man that considers himself Christ’s bride. I learn something new everyday!

          • Psk6565

And you are one who considers himself quite witty. I can’t say I learned much there.

          • Bobby Mae

No I’m being serious. 9 years of christian school plus countless years of church going, I’ve never heard a man or woman consider himself Christ’s bride.

          • Psk6565

I guess you did not read your bible, but depended on others.

          • Bobby Mae

Please indicate the verse right now where it says men and women are to consider themselves Christ’s bride.

          • Psk6565

Hosea 1:2 When the Lord first spoke through Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea, “Go, take to yourself a wife of whoredom and have children of whoredom, for the land commits great whoredom by forsaking the Lord.”

            Mark 2:19
And Jesus said to them, “Can the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have thebridegroom with them, they cannot fast.

            Revelation 19:7
            Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready;

            Revelation 21:2
And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for herhusband.

          • Bobby Mae

Yeah still nothing about a man calling himself a bride. A little weird man. Do you struggle with your gender indentity?

          • Psk6565

Why, are trying to seduce me?

          • Bobby Mae

            Into what? Lol

          • Psk6565

Hey, I am not the one getting all perverted. Just like man puts the concept of friend onto a dog, God has put the concept of husband and bride on man. Not everything (Genders) are important in this union.

          • Bobby Mae

Then maybe you should use a different word than bride… A bride is a woman. Period.

          • Bobby Mae

And besides what could I possibly seduce you into if you’re a straight male?

          • Psk6565

Nothing of course. It was merely banter. Anyway, I am not interesting in trying to convince you of what Scripture says about people being Christ’s bride.

          • Jane Steele Valentine

the ‘church’ is the bride of christ. you never heard that? hmmm.

          • Bobby Mae

            I really didn’t.

          • Bobby Mae

You look pretty gay based on your photo. Are you a sodomite?

          • Psk6565

I am sure you have nothing against that, so i assume you are trying to provoke me?

          • Jane Steele Valentine

the bible calls the ‘church’ the bride of christ. the ‘church’ are those who belong to God by salvation through jesus christ.

          • TJefferson44

Bobby, I agree with you about the “tearing down” part. However, I will remind you that the word also says, “Everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too” (1 Jn. 5:1 NLT). We don’t disown our brothers because they don’t reflect Christ to our tastes. We do, however, reject false doctrine and must abhor evil behavior in others and in ourselves, because God does (Prov. 6:16-19; Psa. 97:10; Amos 5:15; Rom. 12:9).

            Keep the faith!

Barbara, stop casting your pearls before swine. It’s a waste of time.

          • Bobby Mae

And what makes you so perfect?

          • Angel Jabbins

Jesus Christ…only by Christ is anyone made perfect. Those who repent and trust in Him completely are delivered from sin and death. On our own, we are all just rotten sinners bound for an eternity in hell, regardless what our particular sins may be.

          • norm1066

            If you don’t know

          • Jade

Sir, you really comes across as an arrogant and obnoxious person. I am glad you are not my neighbor.

        • TJefferson44

You are correct, Barbara. One cannot convince anyone of spiritual truth because man without God is dead in sin.

“But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; NOR CAN HE KNOW THEM, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Cor. 2:14)

“Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, NOR INDEED CAN BE. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” (Romans 8:7)

Man can only believe when God illuminates his dead soul and opens his spiritual eyes. He does that totally based on His grace: unearned, unmerited, undeserved. Salvation is totally a work of God. (Psa. 3:8; 37:39; Jonah 2:9)

      • LadyFreeBird<God'sNotDead

She is only telling the truth. And yes we all sin in some way from time to time. Though when we get straight with God . And live as He would have us live . It becomes more easy live a sin free life. Sometimes it takes a life time to get there.
        Shalom <

      • STQ

who is she attacking? Speaking the truth is not an attack, necessarily. Are you deflecting from YOUR sin by accusing her of it?

        • Bobby Mae

Not at all! I’ll admit any sin I have . xoxo

          • Lynne

Even of false accusation & supporting wickedness?

          • Bobby Mae

Come on Lynne, upvoting every single comment you post to make your comments look better? Clearly you’re not as secure in your beliefs as you want me to believe. 😉

          • AliceBella

She’s up voting what she believes in…why does that bother you more than the content of what she is saying?

          • Bobby Mae

Upvoting YOUR OWN comment is like giving yourself an A+ on a exam

      • 2ruthmatters

Always easy to misquote Scripture when you don’t know what it says. (2 Timothy 4:3.) We are commanded to expose false teachers because they claim to speak for God. (Ephesians 5:11.) The difference between a believer and a false convert is one hates his sin, the other very casually lives in it. (Matthew 7:23) The true believer speaks “lovingly” about the dangers of living in sin while the false convert doesn’t care about the eternal spiritual condition of unbelievers or the brothers and sisters in the Faith. (Matthew 18: 15) Please don’t quote the judge not Scripture unless you have read the whole passage. (Matthew 7:1-6) We are to examine ourselves before we HUMBLY go to a sinning brother/sister. It does not say, “do not go.”

        • Angel Raez

Just saw his women preach comment, he is hell bent literally on the crooked path it seems.

      • Lynne

Attacking is on your end…because you hate the Lord Jesus Christ…and his messengers. You are angry b/c she spoke the truth & want a lie from false prophets…and you shall if you continue in this reap that fruit. Hint: It aint sweet :O

        • Bobby Mae

Really, you upvoted your own comment? Lol and I.don’t hate the Lord. That’s a lie. And therefore you just sinned

          • AliceBella

You hate the Lord if you hate His message & messengers. You are either for Him or against Him. So what Lord are you referring to?

      • expatconservative

Maria, Is not attacking the sinning homosexual because I am sure she knows that yes we all sin but she is attacking the false prophet that is far worse. It doesn’t appear that you have knowledge of the Bible (by the way the same Bible that Rick Warren claims to believe) or you would understand the difference.
We all sin and fall short (including Christians) but unbelievers fail to see their sin, confess, ask for forgiveness and repent.

      • Jane Steele Valentine

a christian shouldn’t be ‘living’ or ‘walking’ in sin…which means that sin is your ‘way of life’. when you come to christ for salvation you repent which means you ‘turn away’ from your life of sin and turn ‘to’ christ. before christ your ‘desire’ is to sin…after salvation your ‘desire’ is to christ. a christian still sins but a christian shouldn’t be ‘walking’ or ‘living’ in sin. sin should not be my ‘way of life’.

        • Bobby Mae

Ok, WAY too many quotation marks. And who is walking in sin?

    • UmustBKiddinMe

The “sin” described in the Bible is having sexual relations with someone of the same gender, not merely being homosexual.

      • Angel Raez

Homosexual if meaning lusting after a same sex is sin as lusting if ‘straight’ is. Not being attracted to someone of opposite sex while not having sex or lusting after same sex is not sin.

    • Peter Leh

      warren is well within orthodoxy

    • TJefferson44

I will agree with you Maria that Rick is toying very close with error. However, I must also express my disgreement with you that “homosexuals can be forgiven only if they leave the sin … and never practice it again.” Does one have to ABANDON sin FIRST in order to receive forgiveness? Or are we forgiven first and grace then brings the power to live and behave differently? All who are truly saved and have experienced God’s grace are transformed by that grace out from under the slavery of sin. “If the Son makes you free, you are free indeed [truly]”.

      • Peter Leh

if ” never doing it again” equals salvation we are all in trouble. 🙂

which should lead “us” christians into being more kind and understanding to ” them”

  • Reason2012

Mr. Warren might as well hold hands with someone’s wife and the two of them joke about kissing.

    • WorldGoneCrazy

That is an excellent analogy. Well-played!

  • andrewo

    Apostate

  • Simon Hankins

Of course a gay man can be saved. When Jesus saved the women from being stoned what did he say to her first? “I don’t condemn you!” then what did he say? “Sin No More!” If anyone and I mean anyone accepts Jesus as their saviour then they are saved, they then need to walk out their salvation with fear and trembling. A true God fearing Jesus following Christian will be convicted for his sin and that is what leads us to ask for forgiveness and then repentance. How can a gay man truly understand what he is doing wrong if he never has God speak to his soul through his word and through his love. If not for Jesus we would all be going to eternal judgement. We all fall short of the glory of God, we are only saved by Jesus not by our own works. There is definitely cause and effect of sin and that we have to go through as the wages of sin are death. No sin brings life. But by saying a person can never be saved because they are gay goes against everything that Jesus taught. Once they know it is a sin against God should they repent and try to work it out with Jesus? Yes but until then God already paid that price for them and he wants us all now not when we think we are perfect because we can never be until we are renewed!

    • Angel Raez

The Gospel is hope for all who will receive it!

  • Guest

And God warns all those who simply
    “approve of” these things . . .

“For the wrath of God is
    revealed from heaven
    against all ungodliness and
    unrighteousness of men . . .
    For even their women exchanged
    the natural use
    for what is against nature
    (lesbianism).
    Likewise also the men, leaving
the natural use of the woman,
burning in their lust for one
    another,
    men with men committing what
    is shameful (homosexuality) . . .
    that those who practice these
things are worthy of death (Hell),
and not only those who do the
    same
    but also those who approve
    of those who practice them!”
    (Romans 1:18, 26, 27, 32)

    • Bobby Mae

Well aren’t you just God’s little angel!

      • AliceBella

So, if she shows you the proof you hate her. If someone like that young woman with testimony of abstinent says you hate God b/c you hate his message & messengers you deny it. Just a sad liar.

        • Bobby Mae

1 Timothy 2:12 “I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. ” now SHUT your mouth.

          • Angel Raez

What the heck? Since you could not win the debate you resort to misquoting Holy Scripture, thus play the classic antichrist hypocrite) to bully. Someone sounds pissed off?

          • LeftCoast

Alice, keep preaching sister. The insecure men in churches use this verse to promote themselves because they are actually small boys. I would take advise from a wise and Godly woman because I know it comes from God.

          • AliceBella

Thank you. And he is not even lol in the church.

  • Joseph Wagner

WE LIVE IN A FALLEN WORLD….READ THE WORD…HATE IT ALL YOU WANT BUT OUR BATTLE AS CHRIST FOLLOWERS IS NOT WITH THE FLESH ITS WITH THE FORCES OF DARKNESS AND PRINCIPALITIES…..OBEY THE COMMANDMENTS MEDITATE ON THE WORD…..FEAR OUR GRACIOUS MERCIFUL LORD SO YOU CAN BE A HUMBLE SERVANT…..ALLOW HIM TO FIGHT THE BATTLES OF THE WORLD!!! GOD BLESS!!

  • Mary Taylor

Please, people quit arguing among yourselves. We have an enemy infiltrating our country that hates all infidels. Especially, Christians, Jews and Gays.

    • Lynne

Preaching the Gospel & rebuking has nothing to do with infidels. It may be a judgment even on a wicked nation. All need to repent & believe the Gospel, If sincere…God will save, help & use to bless others, even save our enemies (some as I have testimony of…pls feel free to email me on FB)

    • FoJC_Forever

The Enemy is already here, and was here long before Islam began its spread in the country.

  • FoJC_Forever

Warren’s behavior is inappropriate and shameful. He is not representing Jesus Christ by fraternizing with someone who is in willful Sin about something that is directly related to the sin.

Warren is wrong. If someone who is involved in the sin of homosexuality accepts Jesus as Savior and LORD, then he or she will understand they have to walk away from the sin and seek God for the strength to abstain from the sin, as with any and all others sins they may struggle with in this life. A homosexual, one who is willfully practicing the sin of homosexuality, doesn’t enter into the Kingdom of God simply because they repeat some words called a “prayer of Salvation” and can quote a few Bible verses about Salvation.

Man-made religion masquerading as Christianity is a farce. If you want to know Jesus, the Son of the Living God, you can, but don’t follow the Apostates claiming to represent Him.

    • Bobby Mae

Calling out homosexuals doesn’t get you brownie points in heaven. I know you think it makes you look like a better christian but it doesn’t.

      • FoJC_Forever

I’m not seeking “brownie points” in Heaven, since they do not exist, and I’m not trying to make myself look like anything, just speaking the Truth about homosexuality.

    • James

I do not agree with everything that Pastor warren does or says, but your argument “He is not representing Jesus Christ by fraternizing with someone who is in willful Sin about something that is directly related to the sin.” is a horrible analogy. So tell me, how do you witness to sinners if you don’t ‘hang out’ with them? A Christian that stays in their own cozy little world and never associates with non believers is in fact doing the exact opposite thing that Christ did. Try reading the Gospels and then read your post again and tell me how it makes since.

      • FoJC_Forever

It isn’t at all. I know he has many online supporters, but the man is nothing more than another celebrity religious leader.

Warren isn’t trying to witness to Elton John. He’s making jokes about a homosexually related activity with a known homosexual. He’s already shown himself to be ambiguous toward homosexual behavior, as well as professing things about it which are contrary to Scripture.

Jesus didn’t fraternize with sinners, He ate with them and ministered the Word of God to them. This was contrary to the religious leaders instructions, and even the Law, of that time. Jesus came to call sinners to Repentance, as He specifically said Himself. He did not come to get chummy with people in and about their sin.

        • James

Really? So you know exactly what pastor warren said to Elton John? Ever heard his sermons or are you judging by just what you read on the internet? So I guess when he said “Homosexuality is a sin” or when he gave a sermon at the Vatican defending traditional marriage that was ambiguous?
And if you actually were to study the Bible you would know that Jesus did indeed fraternize with sinners:

Matthew 11:19″The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.” If he had not both you and I would be hopelessly lost.

          • FoJC_Forever

Yeah, really. An ardent supporter and practitioner of homosexuality feels no qualms about his sin, just delight and merriment, sitting next to and interacting with someone who claims to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The sinners to whom Jesus preached weren’t in merriment over their sin or in their sin, while they were in His presence. They were sobered and listened intently as He told them the things of the Kingdom of God. Those who pander to the homosexuals aren’t representing Jesus, they are simply riding along the cultural wave of acceptance of this sin.

          • James

Wow, too much Huff post and yahoo. Warren never once embraced Catholicism, all he said is that they have much in common with Christians. Wow it is so amazing to me the gullibility of some who believe every rant and quote taken out of context and use that to attack others. So the measure you use will be used to measure you. Warren drives an older car, wears cheap suits, tithes 80% of his income, teaches directly from the Bible in the pulpit, and has planted churches all over the world. How about you?

          • FoJC_Forever

Catholicism spread all over the world too. Islam has spread all over the world too. Other religions have spread and are spreading as well. The proliferation of a religious sect doesn’t validate it as Truth and as being in line with God’s Word and Will.

I’ve read many quotes from Warren about Catholicism and the pope. You’re apparently missing information.

          • James

I have read them to and to anyone who does not examine facts and is gullible to “internet wisdom’ yes they may seem wrong. Any quote taken out of context can be misleading. However, when you take the time not to assume and actually investigate doctrine, it is easy to see that those who are promoting the misinformation have an agenda not to serve, but to destroy. So no, I am not the one missing information.
Since your implication is that Catholicism is a cult and doomed for hell, then that means that you also have condemned and judged Mother Theresa, a devout Catholic who committed her entire life in humility and service to Jesus? Also, the 1000’s of people that have been baptized into the Trinity through churches that Warren helped establish are not really saved? You give him far too much credit and the Holy Spirit far too little.

  • J-Bird

Hey Author Heather Clark. Saddleback? 20,000 MEMBERS?!? LOL Who wrote this article? They’ve had over 20,000 WEEKLY ATTENDERS at just one of 25 campuses for the last two decades! They had 150,000 registered members back before any of the extra campuses were opened. They’ve sent 25,000 of their own missionaries to 197 countries. How could they only have 20,000 members? Do a little homework before you try to write a public article please. And quit being so jealous. Or did you not know that jealousy is a sin, just like homosexuality? Rick Warren just made the gospel a little more attractive to millions of people this week. What have YOU done for the kingdom lately — besides tear down others who are out changing and impacting the world for Christ? Negative online quotes about Warren are hilarious to read, because all these little, acidic, jealous, envious, spiteful, arm-chair quarterbacks come out of everywhere. Most of them have never positively impacted a single soul for the Kingdom. Instead of talk, talk, talking, maybe try putting some rubber to the road and doing. Just a little. Godspeed.

    • AliceBella

Um…Jehovah Witness (deny Jesus deity & Gospel), Mormons (believe they are God), Islam (do I really need to explain), and many other ‘cults’ have larger membership & not to mention Holy Bible says most perished in Great Flood…and will in end I believe. So please began basing veracity with Holy Bible & not membership. The Body of Christ is not TMZ

      • J-Bird

Hey Alicia. Idiot. I wasn’t saying his church was more valid because it’s beyond huge. I was calling out the author Heather Clark on her grossly mis-quoted stats. Get a clue. And before you say another negative word against people working so hard to spread the good news, why not examine your own pessimistic, hate-filled life? If your beliefs are supposed to be the best way to God, no one will listen. Think about it.

        • Angel Raez

“Idiot” the very thing that Holy Scripture refer to calling a brethren as warning of hell fire? She is pessimistic for rebuking a false gospel spreader & reminding others to turn to Holy Scripture not numbers which YOU made a point of & hate filled for not saying truth for lie? Are you even saved?

          • J-Bird

No, she was stepping way out of bounds to speak on something she misinterpreted, in order BASH a pastor she knows really nothing about, who is busy out reaching the lost for the Kingdom, by the millions. She was so busy being a control freak, and inserting herself into something that she did not even read correctly, to understand that she was being ALMOST as big of an idiot as you are. Did you ever stop to conisider that God may just judge you by the amount of people you SCARE OFF from the gospel, by being a pathetic example of His love? When was the last time either of you incredibly righteous, vast accumulators of awesome scriptural knowledge actually won over someone to Christ? Jesus called people like both of you viper’s brood. Know it alls. Wanna-bes. With nothing positive to say about those out actually doing God’s work, and actually out being His hands and feet to reach the lost. If you’re the models of faith that are magnetically supposed to be drawing unbelievers to the faith, it’s no wonder churches across the country are in a decline. Are YOU even saved? Why do you show zero example of love for people as lost as you once were? Why do you bash pastors who are incredibly effective at reaching the world. So much so that even gay music icons can find a glimmer of hope of God’s love within them? Who have you reached lately? Anyone? Ever?

          • J-Bird

In addition, why is it that Heather Clark RADICALLY understated Sir Elton John? Why did she refer to him as ‘homosexual singer Elton John’, instead of his proper title, ‘Sir Elton John’, in recognition of his being officially knighted by British Parliament?

She sums his career up with three songs, when even a basic Wiki search shows this instead, ” Elton John has sold more than 300 million records, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world.[3][4] He has more than fifty Top 40 hits, including seven consecutive No. 1 US albums, 58 Billboard Top 40 singles, 27 Top 10, four No. 2 and nine No. 1. For 31 consecutive years (1970–2000) he had at least one song in the Billboard Hot 100. His single “Something About the Way You Look Tonight”/”Candle in the Wind 1997” sold over 33 million copies worldwide and is “the best-selling single of all time”.[5][6][7] He has received six Grammy Awards, five Brit Awards – winning two awards for Outstanding Contribution to Music and the first Brits Icon in 2013 for his “lasting impact on British culture”, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Tony Award, a Disney Legend award, and the Kennedy Center Honors in 2004. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked him Number 49 on its list of 100 influential musicians of the rock and roll era.[8] In 2013, Billboard ranked him the most successful male solo artist on “The Billboard Hot 100 Top All-Time Artists” (third overall behind The Beatles and Madonna).[9]”

Why did she leave out just these minute detials, as well as understating Rick Warren’s church congregtion by, ohhh, I dunno… about a quarter of a million members? A basic journalism class would give this work a nice “F”.

          • FoJC_Forever

Elton John is just another sinner bound for Hell, because he believes his sin is okay.

          • J-Bird

While that may or may not be true, with the examples of faith of the two replying above, he may never be reached. rick Warrnen made more inroad with him in that short session than any other believer has in decades. Christians need to be aware that they may very well be held accountable for the number of people that they send running the other direction, away from the faith. And in many cases, I see a lot more believers driving people away, than making the gospel attractive in any way whatsoever. People don’t care how much you know, until they first know how much you care. If you’re going cross over, you have to first bring the cross over.

          • FoJC_Forever

The Holy Spirit draws people to Jesus (the) Christ. No one will send a person seeking the Truth “running in another direction”, the person will simply go around the one obstructing them and continue towards the LORD.

If Warren made an inroad with him, it was just one to lure him under Warren’s false leadership. Like with many in our current culture, people fawn over and ooze carnal emotion around and toward celebrities. They have lost site of the values of the Kingdom of God, placing the values and ‘exalted ones’ of popular culture about Jesus (the) Christ and His Kingdom.

          • J-Bird

So wouldn’t it be logical to STOP OBSTRUCTING THEM? Yeah yeah, it’s all Armeniansim vs. Calvinism, I get it. Tell that to Paul, who advised to robe yourself self like the Romans in order that you might win them over to the faith. And I know pah-LENTY of fundamentalists who have completely scared seekers into rejecting Christianity entirely. Their closed-minded judgmentalism makes seekers throw up their hands and say no way. If being like that parrot-head idiot is what being a believer is, then I want no part of it. You really should look at church attendance stats over the past two decades. I’d like to give Satan that much credit, but it’s the believers driving away the youth and the new converts. Here’s where you insert some sort of quote about the narrow road, &/or pre-determination.

The fact is, that most of the people that reply to these sorts of rhetorical, poor-exuse-for-any-sort-of-journalism articles, have never even heard Warren speak, much less met the man. They formulate a second-hand opinion based on compounded rhetorical articles, written by small church pastors or speculatory hard-liners, who are normally just jealous. There’s gonna be a LOT more – like, millions more – people in Heaven due to Warren than any and all of the people wasting time replying to this article. End of story. And he just may be able to effectively assist in using the faith sector to eradicate AIDS, TB & Malaria worldwide. And if & when he does, I can guarantee you one thing. He will give God all the glory for it. His heart is spot on, and God is most definitely showing His favor to him. And allllll the nanny bird arm-chair critics can just sit and bitch some more about a simple joke with a gay man, and spew out their vitriole. And reach less people than they could for Jesus all the while. If you’re reading this, the next time you go to say something negative online, PLEASE, stop your fingers, and think about what else you could be doing instead to reach someone for Christ. Pissing contests about who’s church is better are no different than the disciples arguing about their place at the banquet table.

          • FoJC_Forever

Nobody can cause anyone to reject Jesus (the) Christ as Savior. The Holy Spirit draws people to Jesus and conveys the Word to them. People can’t stop it. People don’t do it. The role people play is simply to obey the Holy Spirit’s leading. Those who walk away from God or reject His Salvation do so because they do not want the Light, but prefer Darkness, and have no standing before God to blame another for their rejection of Life.

Trying to preempt assumed responses isn’t necessary.

Your tirade is expected and I’m certain Warren relishes in your type of heated, barbaric support for his “ministry”. Everything you say comes from an angry heart, devoid of God’s Peace. You are simply promoting a celebrity preacher of modern churchism. You should lay your life down and take up the cross Jesus has for you and follow Him, instead of defending a celebrity “minister”.

          • FoJC_Forever

Your defense of Warren is not an example of Gods Love.

  • Willem Toerien

Presumption: It’s fine, as long as you love God and love your neighbor. Jesus nailed the law to the cross so we are saved through faith alone, not by the keeping of the law. So stop preaching legalism on how we have to keep the law in abiding in biblical marriage to be saved.

Faith: It’s not okay, because you love God and love your neighbor. Jesus nailed the handwriting of ordinances that was against you to the cross. Because you are saved through faith, you establish the law. So stop preaching spiritualism on how we can freely sin as long as we abide in weak sentimental love.

    • Reason2012

We are saved by faith and our obedience to Him is merely evidence our faith is true saving faith, not just lip service. So someone who says they are saved by willfully sins and couldn’t care less is merely proving their claim to saving faith is just lip service and the truth seems to be they’re not saved.

Faith and our works go hand in hand – it’s faith that saved (a gift of God we didn’t come up with ourselves) and it’s our works that show our faith is saving faith instead of dead faith: just claiming to be saved and not saved in the least.

    • Josey

In order to truly love God and your neighbor, you must put them before your own wants, you must not put a stumbling block in their way. Love is action.

      • Angel Raez

I’m not what you mean but a stumbling block is upholding a lie

      • Willem Toerien

Presumption and faith is action. So which one are you using here?

    • AliceBella

      ???

      • Willem Toerien

        !!!

    • FoJC_Forever

Sometimes, people believe the promise of Salvation through Faith in Jesus Christ as meaning Sin doesn’t matter anymore, since Jesus took it upon Himself on the cross.

It’s not about being sin-free, it’s about seeking the Lord and growing out of the Sin that so easily besets us.

  • UmustBKiddinMe

So Rick Warren is hanging out with sinners…..just like Jesus did.

    • Reason2012

Jesus called them to repentance – Rick is telling them instead that their sin is fine and don’t worry about it. Huge difference.

      • UmustBKiddinMe

“Warren, who believes that homosexual behavior is sinful,”

When did Warren tell them “their sin is fine”?

        • AliceBella

In actions that speak louder than words, in hook ups with false teachers, etc. Plus he stated that under ‘pressure’ & even then peddled less I’m mistaken. Bottom line, not calling Elton to repent. Recall, Elton got so angry with major designer when they criticized adoption by Gays that he vowed to not shop with them. This is basic deduction.

        • Reason2012

Where did he reiterate to Elton specifically it’s not? He didn’t.
He joked about kissing him instead.

          • UmustBKiddinMe

So he didn’t. Your statement was false. How do you reconcile lying and bearing false witness with your supposed adherence to the Christian faith?

    • AliceBella

Jesus preached the right way for them to turn to…and never condoned sin.

      • Bobby Mae

You understand you’re not following the Bible when you argue with men right?

        • Lynne

I actually know the word & it says: 1 Peter 3:14—14But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED, 15but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; 16and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.…

          • Bobby Mae

So conveniently ignore the verse I posted? Lol

          • AliceBella

You conveniently ignore all truth with no rebuttal other than play with verses that have nothing to do with our rebuke so you can uphold liking sodomy with men and you also ignore all the lol ‘males’ whom have commented the same. You need to give up your vice for the anus of men & ask to be changed. It probably began at a young age? You may not really understand why or you have no leash on flesh appetite. I don’t pretend to know you but I do know the Gospel of Jesus Christ is your only hope.

          • Bobby Mae

Oh are you a clinical psychologist now?

          • Bobby Mae

As I said before I’m.not secually active, is it convenient of you to forget that point?

        • Lynne

AND- 2 Timothy 4:1—solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: 2preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,…

          • Bobby Mae

So that negates the fact the bible explicitly says a woman has no authority over a man? Don’t think so! Typical cherry picker

        • Angel Raez

Didn’t you already try that with the Black girl then the one with the candle and let me guess the Latino is next target? You were already dismissed. Try a new angle, like repenting.

          • Bobby Mae

I am Latino, but that’s cute of you

    • FoJC_Forever

Jesus didn’t hang out with sinners, He ministered to Jews who had been cast aside by religious leaders who did not know nor love God, and used the Law and the Prophets to prop up their false religious beliefs and doctrine.

Homosexuality is sinful and those who embrace it and defame the name of Jesus (the) Christ can be forgiven, but are not to be celebrated by people who know and love Jesus (the) Christ. Celebrity preachers use the Bible to prop up their vain, self-serving kingdoms and deceive people into following them in false doctrine.

      • UmustBKiddinMe

You are certainly entitled to your opinion.

  • Clare Frost

Could it be that he is showing Elton John love as Christ would have? There are homosexual men that go to my parent’s church and have been baptised.

    • Reason2012

It’s not showing love to joke about their sin and make them believe the lie they can keep sinning as God is “ok” with sin now. Jesus told them to repent and sin no more – is Rick doing that? No, quite the opposite: He’s making others think such sins are ok and even joking about their sin. It’s no joke.

      • Bobby Mae

        You need to relax lol

        • AliceBella

You need to take your soul & purpose here seriously. In all sincere love & respect; you were created to serve God. Only true happiness comes from having a relationship with God & living your purpose.

          • Bobby Mae

That got you to shut your trap 😉 bye Felicia

    • AliceBella

Only if they repent…like everyone else. Otherwise, that church is false in this matter & I wouldn’t trust them.

      • Clare Frost

I think it’s great that he is building relationships with sinners – opening the door to speak to them at a later time. Perhaps a conference isn’t the best time to haul him over the holy coals and rebuking him for all the wrong he has done! Perhaps Elton John has had Bible verses thrown at him continously and it was a nice break for a Christian to just talk to him – you know, like the human he is! People in general are far too judgemental of others.

  • Chasity Portis

I was hoping that he would have stayed retired!!!

  • Devon Dibley

There is a difference between sinning (which we all do) and seeking justification and acceptance for your sin. There is a difference between struggling with the old nature and acting as if you don’t have a new nature.

I sin, but I don’t go around asking people to approve of my sin or to stop calling it sin. If one persists in a sinful lifestyle, with no remorse, with no struggle, he should be treated as an unbeliever for his own sake. No, I can’t read anyone’s heart, but I can and should judge one’s doctrine. Demanding acceptance of sin as not being sinful is a false doctrine. I needn’t judge the individual to judge that the doctrine is false. The believer has a new nature. It will hate sin and war against the flesh. In the absence of that war, we can assume that there may not be a new nature.

  • Lynne

Now if this doesn’t convince you that Rick Warren may be a closeted antichrist…I don’t know what will. Elton John is well known to have blasphemed that God/Lord Jesus Christ was involved in a homosexual relationship with his disciple. This also should wisen folks up that having a “best selling ‘Christian’ themed book [i.e. Purpose Driven Life] or devout followers DOES NOT EQUATE to being Man or Woman of God. Um…like I stated it ‘should’ wisen folks p at least gasp emoticon !

  • LeftCoast

In the Bible, the Almighty Lord Jesus called a certain group of men vipers, snakes and hypocrites. In this pic above, who is the viper?

    • J-Bird

The viper’s not in this pic. The viper is spewing negative comments and hatred against either one.

  • Mex Seiko

If the Word of God is Healing, the message from these mega church leaders like Warren, Olsteen, and Oprah’s friend (the name escapes me at the moment) is placebo. It’ll make you feel good, but will it heal you?

God’s riches in Glory are, well, in Glory. This world is not God’s Kingdom. Even His Millennial Reign on earth has an expiration date. The Streets of Gold are far, far away from Down Town, New York. You can’t buy a BM’er with Holy Blood.

I believe in God’s blessings on those who love Him and His Word, but if you came to Jesus’ riches instead of His Salvation FROM THIS WORLD and what it yields you may get rich indeed, but will you be acknowledged at The Gates, or will you hear, “Depart from me, I never knew you.”?

  • Peter Leh

OMG he touched a HOMOSEXUAL! just the like pharisees said of Jesus:

    “When
the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this
man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of
woman she is–that she is a sinner.”

  • Miller

I hope mister Warren is enjoying his reward.

  • Richard Williams

I could so jump on the whole Roman Catholic thing, although it was not the main intention of the article – for me that is one of the biggest deceptions in the church that has effected the whole world.

  • Barb Borawski Seffinga

This is so, so very sad that Rick Warren has fallen so far away from the TRUTH of Scripture.

    • Rebecca

If he was ever really near it. Warren is a compromising, Charlatan and false teacher.

anti-Word of God people only know how to do ad hominem attacks, they cannot argue with reason, i have yet to see a good reasoned argument on this site from supporters of homosexual community

    • gods need not apply

What was it you wanted to debate? I’m willing to stay ad hominem free if we will also stay away from other logical fallacies 🙂

      • jjhot254 .

Which logical fallacies? So I can avoid them, and I’m assuming here that you are an atheist, why do you care so much about what Christine think? You most likely think we are fools, and why do you care about a God, who you believe to be a fairy tale, I do not see people so adamant that there is no tooth fairy?

Try https : // your logical fallacy is . com/
Without the spaces of course 🙂

Yes I am an atheist. I wouldn’t use the word fools. Misguided and in need of further education to break out of indoctrination, but not fools.

Because most people grow out of belief in the tooth fairy, and the people that do believe are not being allowed to vote on legislation to implement laws that agree with the edicts of the tooth fairy. Those laws governing how I live my life.

            Ok
I will look it up, so you do not believe our country was build up in Judeo-Christian values? As an atheist, what is the basis of your worldview? How do you see our world/universe as coming into being? Were you ever a Christian? And if so can you describe?

FYI I’ve been a Christian ally life but never a true one until about 10 years ago and my belief became real.

          • gods need not apply

I believe our country was built upon values very common to humanity. The fact that they we’re first introduced to those ideas in the bible doesn’t mean that judeo/christian holy books have the monopoly on morality. Please remember the justification for legal slavery can be (and was) backed up by scriptures. Would you consider that moral?

I’m not sure what you mean by “As an atheist, what is the basis of your worldview?”

I see our world and universe coming into being in great chaos and uncertainty. In other words I am an adherent to the Big Bang theory. Basically we can’t know. We can just make educated guesses based on hard observable and peer reviewed evidence.

Yes I was raised in a Christian household. I had wonderful examples of how awesome religion could be with a loving god in my grandparents, but then I was shown that there are parts of the bible where God is not so loving. And I saw that people that used this version of god were the same people that use it to commit bigotry and try to govern my life with their beliefs. I chose to stand up and challenge that. And once you start challenging these ideas in the bible you fall out of favor with the church very quickly. I finally broke free of a religion that tells me I am flawed from birth because of some person that interacted with a talking snake years before I was born.

I finally realized that every person is responsible for their own actions and the bible tends to punish generations later.

The injustices and inaccuracies of the bible far outweigh any morals you may accidentaly pick up from it.
