Man Who Tried to Live as Woman: ‘Transition Caused More Problems Than it Solved’

(The Guardian) Elan Anthony knows more than most about trans identity issues. Born a boy 42 years ago, he transitioned from male to female at 19 and then detransitioned to male three years ago. While his story is enlightening, it is also immensely challenging and it took him a long time and a lot of therapy to conclude that he had made a mistake.

“There are definite steps and support around transitioning, but not around detransitioning, so I felt I had to make my own road in many ways,” he says. “And realizing that the transition had caused more problems than it solved was hard.”

It was also a shock because, as attitudes changed over the last two decades, one thing that stayed constant with Elan was the idea that gender identity was fundamental.

“I started to realize that I could have dealt with my own issues so much better without changing my body because that has brought so many more difficulties. Detransitioning isn’t as unusual as you might expect, but it is underground, for a number of reasons, and the trans community isn’t happy discussing this.”

  • Amos Moses – He>i

and while this is a very interesting story ….. ultimately this poor soul is not yet saved …… he is still under a demonic influence and lost …… at least if this story is complete ….. and it may not be ….. but thanx Heather (Editor?) ….. it does show that what we are being told by the “other side” is not true and lacks credibility …………

    • Lady_Checkmate

If they are confused about their gender it has nothing to do with demons.

      • Amos Moses – He>i

sure it does ……… ignored …………

        • Lady_Checkmate

          Except not ignored. Obviously.

          • Amos Moses – He>i

            ignored ………..

          • Lady_Checkmate

Oh no you didn’t. Stop replying. That is ignoring.

    • Wesley Willis

well then it’s good for him then that there is zero evidence of demons existing…

      • Wesley Willis

and no evidence of a soul existing either…

      • Amos Moses – He>i

you got it ….. HIM … NOT HER …… so yes there is ………

        • Wesley Willis

im not fixated on the pronoun thing like you are. please provide evidence of demons (you asserted demons are real).

          • Amos Moses – He>i

thought i just did …. this man …. and any other person who thinks it is normal ………….. try reading the above again ……..

          • Wesley Willis

You provided evidence for demons? I guess you and I have different standards of evidence. And the person that blindly “likes” every comment you post, despite the content.

          • Amos Moses – He>i

i guess you have a different standard ….. i am not responsible for anyones conduct here ….. especially yours …………

          • Wesley Willis

“i guess you have a different standard .”

yes, i have A standard. what is yours? im still curious about this evidence for demons. please provide.

          • Amos Moses – He>i

no … you are not really interested …. you reject the truth ……. if you did not then this conversation would already be over ….. as it is now ………….

          • Wesley Willis

are we going to play this semantic game again? i AM interested, but you dont seem to want to share your evidence. i dont “reject the truth” – i accept what is true and i dont accept what is either not true or not yet shown to be true (or “likely” true) based on the current evidence.

i agree that this convo is over. i thought today would be the day somebody with an assertion of the supernatural would finally provide some evidence. i guess i was wrong.

          • Amos Moses – He>i

we are not playing at all … ignored …………..

          • Wesley Willis

“ignored…” = “i cant backup my claim with any evidence” (prove me wrong)

          • Amos Moses – He>i

            ignored ………. = ignored …………

  • Amos Moses – He>i

“The problem isn’t that Johnny can’t read. The problem isn’t even that Johnny can’t think. The problem is that Johnny doesn’t know what thinking is; he confuses it with feeling.”
    ― Thomas Sowell

    • Lady_Checkmate

And if Johnny feels that he’s a girl in a man’s body, let’s hear what Johnny has to say. Not you.

      • Amos Moses – He>i

        i see ….. appropriating anothers identity ………

        • Lady_Checkmate

Never mind the baseless accusations, deal with the subject at hand.

          • Amos Moses – He>i

            ignored ……………

          • Lady_Checkmate

            But you didn’t, Amos.

        • Yes, again it seems.

  • Trilemma

Most people who get gender confirmation surgery are happy with the result. This story indicates more care needs to be taken in determining if a person will actually benefit from the surgery.

  • I just read the full link. And, up until his life in high school, his testimony reminds me a lot of an old friend I had in the gaming community who identified as trans (i.e. he’s male, but used both pronouns online).

Anyhow, him and I chatted one day online and, out of genuine curiosity, I asked him why he identified as transgender. Like, what’s the story behind it? In response, he told me that, while growing up in high school, he got bullied by other guys and, pretty much, identified more with the female friends that he had made in his peer group.

^ In other words, a lot of it seemed to boil down to bullying.

So…if I can craft a moral to this story — every little bit of bullying that you do to something (moreso, when children are growing up) can leave a bigger scar than you think. And the world, nowadays, is all-too-willing to encourage such a one to take measures such as surgical gender transitioning as a solution to their problems.

But I profess to you, reader, that the Lord Jesus Christ is the everlasting solution.

Therefore, if you’ve read this far already, I’d recommend checking out the testimonies of two such men whom credit God to both fulfilling their deepest spiritual needs and taking them out of a lifestyle of transgenderism.

One is David Arthur (former promiscuous transgender): ibelongamencom

And the other is Walt Heyer (former transgender; post-op): sexchangeregretcom

Shalom. And may God reveal Himself to you.

The grass is always greener over the septic tank. The first part of that title use to end with over the fence. The optional ending is from a book by Erma Bombeck. In the end it all adds up to the same thing. Be careful what you wish for, it may come true. It also may stink to the high heavens. We all live with what we have, and make the best of it.
