A friend to vice president Joe Biden was recently granted $20 million dollars to build a car dealership overseas.
John Hynansky, who is a longtime regular donor to the Biden and Obama campaigns, was awarded the funding from the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. Official documents outline that the money will be used to “expand Winner Import Ukraine’s automobile business, [and] construct and operate ‘Winner Autocity,’ which will have two new, state-of-the-art dealership facilities for Porsche and Land Rover/Jaguar automobiles.”
“This project will have a positive developmental impact on the host country, Ukraine. The project will generate a significant number of new local jobs,” the document continues. “Running a dealership for premium automobile brands requires a highly trained sales force, mechanics, accountants, communications and advertising specialists, IT specialists, service personnel, warehouse managers, and customer relations specialists.”
While there are disagreements as to whether the funding comes from the coffers of taxpayers, some are furious about the loan nonetheless.
“What about $20 million to building the car dealership in the United States, you know, where you have put so many people in the unemployment lines,” stated one commentator.
“The federal government needs to have the checkbook taken out of their hands. Presently, they are not capable,” said another.
Hynansky is from Pennsylvania and operates car dealerships in the state.
