The Blaze, the news publication of Mormon conservative talk show host Glenn Bleck, reported this week on the commentator’s reaction to the reelection of Barack Obama.
“Man, sometimes God really s*cks,” Beck said. “I got up yesterday at 3:00 in the morning and I knew. And I couldn’t sleep, and I started to say my prayers and I got up and kneeled down by the edge of my bed, and I knew that — or I suspected that my mind’s not God’s mind — and the peace and the comfort that he had given me and so many of my friends was not about an election.”
“God’s about a bigger picture than an election or a candidate,” he continued. “God is about the freedom of mankind. God is about the Constitution, which is divinely inspired.”
In the weeks prior to the election, Beck had made comments that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney was trailing in the polls because God wanted to perform a miracle in the end.
“God is trying to make this so clear to us that if it happens, it’s His finger, because nothing looks good,” he said. “And yet, everybody I know who I consider a spiritual giant feels good. And it bothers me that I feel good because, I’m like, there’s no reason that I should feel good on this.”
Following Romney’s loss, Beck released a new t-shirt for sale this week that says “O crap,” with the “O” being the Obama symbol.
The final results of the national electoral map were Obama 332 to Romney 206.
