New ‘Queen James Bible’ Removes References to Homosexuality From Scripture

In an effort to eliminate all known references to homosexuality as being sinful from Scripture, a new homosexual-friendly “Bible” has been released.

The “Queen James” version, which was published at the end of November, is said to be an attempt to “to prevent homophobic misinterpretation” of the Bible. Its publishers claim that the word “homosexuality” was not used in the Bible until 1946 when the Revised Standard Version was released, and that people have misunderstood the original meaning of the text.

The Queen James version makes no other changes to Bible passages other than to eight Scriptures that it feels have been wrongly construed to reference homosexual behavior.

Instead of God’s law in Leviticus 18:21 reading “Thou shall not lie with mankind as with womankind: it is abomination,” it now reads, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind in the temple of Molech: it is an abomination,” insinuating that homosexuality began as a pagan practice, and is only prohibited when the sexual acts are done in the name of paganism.

The publishers do admit, however, that the Bible has across the board prohibitions against other adult relationships, not matter where they are committed or the motivation, explaining, “Leviticus 18 includes a long list of forbidden sexual offenses in the form of incest, from verse 6 (‘near of kin’ relatives) to verse 18 (your wife’s sister). At verse 19, the sexual offenses are no longer incestuous, simply forbidding sex with a menstruating woman (verse 19) and your neighbor’s wife (verse 20).”

Likewise, the publishers state that Romans 1 refers to men and women having same-sex relations as part of pagan idol worship, and edits the text to read, “Their women did change their natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, left of the natural use of the woman, burned in ritual lust, one toward another, men with men working that which is pagan and unseemly. For this cause God gave the idolaters up unto vile affections, receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.”

In 1 Corinthians 6:9, the Queen James Bible removes the word “effeminate” and replaces it with the phrase “morally weak.”

The publishers explain that they called the revised version of the Bible the “Queen James” version because they believe that King James, who commissioned the Bible to be translated into English from its original Hebrew and Greek, was a bisexual.

“King James I’s many gay relationships were so well known that amongst some of his friends and court, he was known as ‘Queen James,'” the website for the publication claims. “It is in his great debt and honor that we name the Queen James Bible so.”

It states that it feels that God’s laws and the Bible itself are antiquated in a variety of ways, but that the publishers did not seek to change the text of other Scriptures of which it disagrees — only texts surrounding homosexuality.

“[T]he Bible is still filled with inequality and even contradiction that we have not addressed. No Bible is perfect, including this one,” the site continues. “We wanted to make a book filled with the word of God that nobody could use to incorrectly condemn God’s LGBT children, and we succeeded.”

“You can’t choose your sexuality, but you can choose Jesus. Now you can choose a Bible, too,” the publishers tout on their various promotional outlets.

Reaction to the edited Bible has been mixed.

“People want to enshrine the Bible as a God, but it is not. It is a series of writings by men that we can learn faith from, if it is the faith we choose,” writes one reviewer on Amazon. “The Bible has done so much harm to LGBT people over time, and all because of faulty translations and biases that were read into them by people.”

“You can change words in the Bible at your own peril, but just because you change the words to make yourself feel better about your grievous sin of homosexuality, it does not change the truth,” writes another. “The truth is, homosexuality is a sin and an abomination in the sight of God. … God help you. The sign of a person who is truly saved is a person who turns from their sins and their life is changed. You cannot say you are saved and then continue in the same lifestyle and life – because if you do friend, I’m sorry to tell you, you are not saved.”

The Queen James Bible sells at approximately $35, and features a rainbow homosexual cross on its cover.

    Isaiah 5:20-21 NASB
    Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
    Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
    Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
    21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
    And clever in their own sight!

    On the other hand, there is not evidence that God exist; wishful thinking doesn’t make it so. So what does it matter if the words of this unpleasant work of fiction are altered?

    • You are a confused man.
      Everything, even the smallest atom has a complicated design. This is proof that chance did not create anything. There had to be a designer and that designer was God.

      God has given us warning about heretics bringing perversions of the gospel.1 The Lord takes His Word very seriously. He has preserved it for us. He has commanded us not to change it in any way. He has also given us warning about those who alter it, and to those who alter it.

      Look at some Old Testament words: Proverbs 30:6, Deuteronomy 4:2.

      The thought is continued in the New Testament in Revelation 22:18, 19.
      The devil is not alone in his attack on the Bible. His human agents are fast at work to change and discredit God’s Word. The Bible clearly exposes the human element in perversion of the Word, from the false prophets of old to the false teachers of today. We are strongly admonished to separate ourselves from these individuals and their message. (This does not mean that we are not to seek to bring them out of their error unto repentance and the true gospel. But we are not to have fellowship with them as Christians, but unbelievers.)

      Romans 1:21, 25

      21. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
      25. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

      These people, having rejected God, have “changed the truth of God into a lie.”

    This is very sad. It amazes me that anyone can think they can simply break God’s law. We don’t break God’s law,it breaks us. His law is there because He loves us. Imagine saying “I don’t like the law of gravity, so I’ll just ignore it.” We all know what would happen if a person followed through on that foolish idea. Our loving Father’s law (the Holy Bible) is no different. Christ’s blood can wash away every sinful stain. I Cor. 6:9-11 states, “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolators, not adulterers, nor homesexuals, nor sodomites, not thieves, not covetous, not drunkards, not revilers, not extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were santified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” (NKJV)

    Homosexual behaviour is clearly wrong, as said in Romans. That behaviour goes against God’s original design for humans. Gossiping is wrong, lying is wrong, boasting is wrong, premarital sex is wrong, and homosexual sex is wrong. Killing and assaulting homosexuals are also wrong. Shame on those who use the Bible as an excuse to hate people who identify as homosexual. But shame on those who change the Bible to fit their own ideas. Homosexual behaviour is sin. Don’t do it. Don’t beat up homosexuals either.

    God will have mercy on all who repent. This includes homosexuals, liars, gossipers, thieves, boasters, and murderers. Sin is sin, whether it’s lying or having homosexual relations. It seperates the person from God. All sin can be forgiven, but the sinner needs to ask for His mercy.

    Just because someone has a desire to do a certain behaviour, that doesn’t mean the behaviour isn’t sinful. Why would God make people homosexual? Simply put, He didn’t. He didn’t make us liars, thieves, or gossipers either. That is sin. But He will forgive those who repent. All who repent are welcome in his presence. “This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who beleive. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:22-23 NIV

    I can’t imagine this will be a popular response, I am saying that one shouldn’t have homosexual relations anymore than one should have premarital sexual relations. But Jesus told us to love God and love our neighbours. To lie and say homosexual relations is an acceptable behaviour in God’s eyes would not be loving those who identify as homosexual. I won’t lie to you and say there’s nothing wrong with it. That’s not love.
