President of Bolivia Repeals Penal Code That Raised Concern Among Evangelicals

(Evangelical Focus) The president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, has announced through social networks that his government has decided to “repeal the penal code” that was approved on December 15.

Morales decided to revoke it to “avoid confusion,” while he accused the right-wing parties of “conspiring” and “destabilizing the country with misinformation and lies.”

Morales pointed out that the aim of the new penal code was to replace the one approved during “Hugo Banzer dictatorship”, because it was a copy of the Codes of Europe and the United States.

Additionally, he lamented that the right-wing parties do not want to pass laws in favor of the people. “The national government will never approve laws against the Bolivian people,” Morales said.
