Bibles for the World President Reflects on Welsh Missionary Who Brought Gospel to Grandfather

(Mission Network News) The International Day for the Unreached is a reminder that not every tribe, tongue, and nation has access to the Gospel just yet. Ask what it means for John Pudaite, president of Bibles For The World, and he’ll tell you it’s personal for him.

He came from an unreached people group himself.

“In the year 1910, before the Gospel came to my people, we were known as one of the most savage head-hunting tribes in India,” Pudaite says.

However, one man didn’t think things needed to stay that way. A 22-year-old Welsh missionary named Watkin Roberts sent a copy of the Gospel of John to the chiefs of the tribe. Pudaite’s grandfather lived in one of the villages that got ahold of one.
