HARLAN, Ind. (WPTA21) — The wife of a local pastor said two teens attempted to steal her car while another battered her in front of her kids at a Harlan park.
According to probable cause documents, police were called to Harlan Community Park around 1:57 p.m. on May 16 in regards to a reported battery.
When police arrived, they spoke with the victim, a 32-year-old woman, who said she was at the park with her kids, ages 3 and 5, when she was battered during an attempted robbery. The woman has been identified as the wife of a pastor at Pathway Church.
The woman told police three teens approached her from behind when she was sitting at a picnic table with her sons. She said one of the suspects hit her in the face and head, causing her to fall to the ground, and that she could hear her sons crying and screaming while he assaulted her.
