Woman Fired From Christian Ministry Over Divorce Files Federal Lawsuit

gavel II pdGRAND RAPIDS, MI — A woman has filed a federal lawsuit saying she was wrongly fired from her job at InterVarsity Christian Fellowship because her marriage broke down.

Alyce Conlon said she was aware of at least two men at the nonprofit who divorced their spouses and were not disciplined or fired.

Conlon had worked for IVCF, a nonprofit corporation, since 1986. She worked in Grand Rapids as a spiritual director for IVCF staff from 2004 to 2011, when she said she was fired for failing to reconcile her marriage.
