‘Pope Francis:’ Global Warming a ‘Sin,’ Man Can Atone by Recycling and ‘Car-Pooling’

Pope Credit Edgar Jiminez(Breitbart) — In his message for the “World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation” Thursday, Jorge Bergoglio, who also goes by the name of “Pope Francis” as head of Roman Catholicism, said that human-induced global warming, as well as a loss of biodiversity are “sins” against God, which must be atoned for by planting trees, avoiding the use of plastic and paper and “separating refuse.”

“Global warming continues, due in part to human activity,” Francis said, adding that “2015 was the warmest year on record, and 2016 will likely be warmer still.”

“This is leading to ever more severe droughts, floods, fires and extreme weather events. Climate change is also contributing to the heart-rending refugee crisis. The world’s poor, though least responsible for climate change, are most vulnerable and already suffering its impact,” he wrote.

Not recycling is a sin? No, worshiping the creation more than the creator is a sin.

Romans 1:24-25 “Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature [creation] more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”

Do we recycle? Of course. Do we raise up creation to the point of acting like acting against it is a sin? No. Lifting up creation itself is what’s a sin.

when will the pope sell all the riches in the basilica in rome, the gold statues or idols, go to using oil lamps or candles, sell off the marble, etc…hypocrites they are! he should go to some mountain monastery and live off of beans and rice, if he’s so concerned about recycling and living a chaste life, what a joke!

    • BobbyHead

The Catholic Church ripped off all ll the Gold from the Indians of Mexico and South America. It help to build and beautify the Vatican. I don’t need to visit Rome to view all the wealth the Catholic Church ripped off. Nor do I need to see all the statures that the Catholics bow down to and pray too. Pure Idolatry which is forbidden in the 10 commandments.

  • Rick

It isn’t global warming, it’s called climate shift. The biggest dilemma in modern science assumes a 4.6 billion year old earth. Since the earth is only 6000 years old, the speed of change in weather patterns shows that it is actually proceeding at a normal rate and is expected within a young earth timeline.

    • Triamene

Considering we have dinosaur bones that are millions of years old, I think your numbers are a little out of skew.

  • How very sad that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed once to atone for sin has lost its power to atone for sins, and that climate sins can only be covered by repentance towards dead works of the law.

  • ComeOnPeople!

The pope is just a man. He does not get to redefine sin nor does he tell us what atones for sin. The TRUE Messiah came, bled and died so that our sins could be atoned for. HE alone is the word of GOD made flesh & that word defines sin and the remedy for it. Sin is the transgression of HIS instructions , not the transgression of the roman catholic churches instructions.

    • Triamene

He’s a church leader. He doesn’t try to do any of the things you said.

      • ComeOnPeople!

Obviously you don’t know the Roman Catholics claims on who they think the Pope is and their claims that he has the right to add to and take away from GOD’s holy instructions.

        • Triamene

Given that I used to be Catholic, I would say you are wrong. But I have heard evangelicals make your claim in the past. They were wrong too, just as you are.

          • ComeOnPeople!

Pope Francis announced to Christians around the world that God had called upon him, instructing him “to revise the most sacred of texts, the Ten Commandments.” Given to the Israelites by God himself at Mount Sinai.

Yet GOD told Israel that should they add to or take away from HIS instructions they would have curses and plagues added to them and that GOD would take away from their part of eternal life.

This is just one statement, I could go on and on at the falseness of the roman catholic church and it’s leaders but do your own study.

          • Triamene

            The Lie:

Pope Francis said during mass in Ecuador that God had instructed him to revise the Ten Commandments to reflect new temptations that Christians face today.

            The Truth:

Pope Francis hasn’t announced plans to revise the Ten Commandments.

That false report started with the website Real News, Right Now. The website, which is known for publishing fictional “news” stories, reported that Pope Francis made the announcement in South America in July 2015.

          • ComeOnPeople!

Is this a lie also…. Mary is venerated in the Catholic Church as Queen of Heaven and honoured in numerous Marian devotions. The Catholic Church has defined four Marian dogmas: the Immaculate Conception, the dogma that Mary was conceived without original sin; her status, as the mother of Jesus, of Mother of God;her perpetual virginity; and her bodily assumption into Heaven at the end of her earthly life.

Now go do a study on the queen of heaven….

As long as mankind kill the unborn children and engage in immorality, every effort for preserving the planet is altogether futile. The Earth rejects murderers. (Genesis ch.4, II Peter ch.3, Revelation ch.9, 20, Romans ch.8)

  • Don Hamilton

Jorge’s problems is, his god is not powerful enough to prevent mankind, oh excuse me, humankind, from destroying his plans for the earth.

  • Rick Derris

The religious right was created as a way to fight desegregation, and a “Christian News” website is promoting stories from a white supremacist website.

This should be a surprise to no one, yet I’m still surprised.

These Popes from the Catholic Church should try reading the Bible. Where does it say that

Global Warming is a sin in the Bible.

As a matter of fact where does it say to say the Rosary because it will help your love ones spend less time in purgatory.
Which reminds me, where in the Bible is Purgatory mention in our 66 books of the Bible?
One more thing where, in the Bible does it say to pray to Mary? Or for that matter dead saints?

  • BobbyHead

The godless liberals are calling the U.S. Constitution a living document. This means you
can interpret the meaning of it any way that fits the present progressive mob
thinking of the day by wicked judges. That’s why we need and addendum that puts
God Almighty and His Son Jesus the Lord of all, in an updated U.S. Constitution.

This should be a new preamble to the U.S. Constitution:

WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES recognizing the being and
attributes of almighty God, the divine Authority of the Holy Scriptures, the
law of God as the paramount rule, and Jesus the Messiah, the Savior and Lord of
all, in order to form a more perfect union do ordain and establish this Constitution
of the United States of America.

    • Boommach

The constitution is a bedrock foundational document. The left wants to breathe life into it so as to kill it. We are dealing with evil.

Oh that pagan emperor! No one told him global warming is a myth, and we can’t “atone” for anything. He needs to repent from his paganism and convert to the Christian faith, but that’s Gods call not mine!

  • Nedd Kareiva

Jesus told the leftists of his day (Sadducees, Pharisees) the dangers of calling someone a fool but clearly, this Pope-A-Dope is a fool, just like Obama. Biblical Catholics should call for this fool to step down. Total disgrace.

Sin: an immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law…….maybe the pope should reexamine the law. Global warming, even if caused by man is not a moral issue, it would be a character issue of those responsible for being good stewards of God’s creation.
It’s sad so many look to him as a representative of God….he shows he is not.

  • Gena B

We should have respect for animals and nature, it’s nice to enjoy what God made for us. According to Revelation though no matter how much we try to save this place, God has other plans.

  • Chet

Wow, has the Pope spun himself off the spiritual rails or what. Does not a man of God know that all weather is an act of God, whether in his perfect will or his permissive will. Either way, it’s his call, period. He might recheck his own Holy Bible for a number of examples of such, but, perhaps the most elementary of such is found at Mathew 8: 23-27… Recycling and not purposely polluting and prosecuting scofflaws is one thing. Thinking God has turned over Earth and space management to puny mankind, sinners at best, is plain void of critical thought. Whatever Global Warming/Climate Change/Aberrant Weather is observed is not man made…
