Palm Springs Becomes First City Council in Nation to Be All Homosexual, Bisexual or Transgender

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — The City of Palm Springs, California has sworn in a man who identifies as a woman, as well as a woman who identifies as bisexual, making its city council all-“LGBT” as its other three members identify as homosexual.

Lisa Middleton, a man who identifies as a woman (pictured), and Christy Holstege, an attorney who identifies as bisexual, were both sworn in on Wednesday after being elected last month.

They join Mayor Robert Moon and Councilman Geoff Kors, who both are “married” to men, and Councilman J.R. Roberts, who likewise identifies as homosexual.

Holstege and Middleton won with 30 percent of the vote, as compared to the 13 percent received by the nearest candidate. They replace Ginny Foat and Chris Mills, who decided not to run for reelection, according to CBS News.

“The kind of actions that made my election possible took place over the last 15-20 years in this city,” Middleton stated, according to local television station KESQ. “I am thrilled to have an opportunity to represent Palm Springs and Palm Springs values throughout this state and throughout this country.”

“It takes a diverse voice,” Holstege, who is married to a man but who identifies as bisexual, also remarked. “I work to make a living in Palm Springs. I want to raise kids here, and I think that’s important. I have to represent all of us, each and every one of us who lives in Palm Springs and I’m really looking forward to build a Palm Springs that works for all of us.”

Middleton’s campaign website outlines that he is involved with various humanitarian and transgender advocacy groups, including the LGBT Center of the Desert and Equality California, and also serves as the chair of the neighborhood improvement coalition ONE-PS. Middleton is married to a woman and has an adult son and daughter.

Holstege’s campaign website notes that in addition to handling civil litigation, elder law and domestic violence law, she also “focuses her practice and pro bono efforts serving underserved communities of the Coachella Valley, including people with disabilities, LGBTQ people, homeless individuals, injured workers, personal injury victims, and victims of discrimination and violence.”

According to a report by the Desert Sun entitled “Gay Then, Gayer Now: The New Palm Springs City Council Marks a Milestone in LGBT Acceptance,” Palm Springs has a history of electing homosexuals to office, as the two previous mayors and four past members of city council have identified as homosexual.

However, Councilman Roberts told the New York Times that he doesn’t want Palm Springs City Council to be known primarily for its sexuality.

“As the last bit of confetti is being swept up, some concerns have replaced elation,” he outlined to the outlet. “I really don’t want us to be known as the queer council. I want this to be about the things we accomplish.”

Holstege said Wednesday that she wants to focus on issues such as homelessness and to restore trust in the expenditures of public tax money. Middleton, who has worked with the Planning Commission since 2014, likewise stated that the passage of a half-cent sales tax is a priority in order to give the city a better budget to work with in regard to city planning and zoning.

As previously reported, at least two other men who identify as women were elected to government office last month. In Minnesota, Andre “Andrea” Jenkins was elected to the Minneapolis City Council, and in Virginia, Daniel “Danica” Roem was elected to the House of Delegates.

Historic American statesman Daniel Webster, who held office both in the House and Senate, once said, “If the power of the gospel is not felt throughout the length and breadth of the land, anarchy and misrule, degradation and misery, corruption and darkness will reign without mitigation or end.”

Noah Webster, known as the father of American education, also said, “All the miseries and evils which men suffer from—vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery and war—proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible.”

“All the miseries and evils which men suffer from—vice, crime, ambition,

neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible.”

I could not have said it any better. Excellent article.

    • Val Thonis

There is no validity to bible when it comes to anatomy, physiology or medicine. None. Zero. Zip. You are wrong. This quote is just absurd in this context as it equates philosophical absurdity with the knowledge of science.

The slow march of the perverts to take control of our lives.

    • Anthony English

Well, we already have one pervert trying to control our lives from the White House (or one of his resorts) and another that’s running for senator in Alabama.

      • NCOriolesFan

        Nothing proven – only ALLEGATIONS.

Wait hold on there, I did not know Bill Clinton was running in the Alabama senate race? Or perhaps Barney Franks or Harvey Weinstein?

      not true

Or it could be a case of God will not violate their free will.

Or, it could be a case of your entire world view is misguided. (Almost certainly) Try reading something other than fiction.

        Bang on .

  • Kristi Michele

lovely. Nothing but wholeness and joy in Palm Springs. ?

    • TruthvLIes

Is that the same as calling homosexuals “gay?”

    • NCOriolesFan

Glad I don’t live there too.

  • This style 10/6

Noah Webster lived in the 19th century and lived by 19th century principles. We have moved on since then.

    • TruthvLIes

I think you mean we have slid backwards since then.

      • This style 10/6

The world is a far better place. Life expectancy has increased, poverty has diminished, women are more equal (they can vote now you know), children have rights and can’t be beaten. All together we are way better off than those 150 years ago.

Show me just one instance of where life in say, 1850, was better than it is today.

        • bowie1

          Physically perhaps…morally not so much.

          • This style 10/6

In 1850 some Americans kept slaves. Now they don’t. In 1850 women could not vote. Now they can. In 1850 men could beat their wife and children and it was considered normal. Today it is a crime.

          • Klaire Kay

Then the yardstick you use to measure morality is broken!

          • Val Thonis

I think you’re being extremely naive. I wouldn’t confuse the discipline of past generations with morality.

        • TruthvLIes

Simple. Back then they did not have 55 million babies murdered in the womb.

          • This style 10/6

I see that you are a one trick pony. Apart from the fact that there are no babies murdered in the womb you are willing to accept far lower life expectancy, higher infant mortality, higher death in childbirth, no antibiotics or other effective drugs, crude surgery, widespread poverty, the list goes on.

          • carolyn

You are on a loser arguing with Lies vs truth (He needs renaming) At different points he claims to have a degree in Social Science, Degrees (plural) in theology, a degree in Politics and to have been a teacher (no doubt with a teaching qualification). You need to bow down to his obvious superior intelligence. Either that or his name is the total irony (hence my renaming him.)

          • This style 10/6

I have noticed that he is impervious to fct. He works on built in prejudice.

          • ppp777

You did not answer his point on the best part of sixty million baby’s murdered in the womb which makes the holocaust look like a picknic

          • This style 10/6

No babies have been murdered in the womb.

          • ppp777

            I rest my case .

          • This style 10/6

I had not realized that you had made one.

By the way the plural of ‘baby’ is ‘babies’ not ‘baby’s’, which is the possessive. There is no ‘k’ in ‘picnic’.

          • ppp777

Well that’s put me in my place , hmmmm , you don’t even know the difference between a man and a woman , or what defines a marriage , and you think you can correct someone else ? , pllllease

          • This style 10/6

I do my best. Still haven’t made a case.

          • ppp777

Get your head straight soon or God will send you a delusional spirit , then it will be all over , you know what is right and wrong , no where should sodomites be excepted as normal they are the complete opposite , marriage is defined between a man and a woman [ no exceptions ] , and it goes downhill fast from then on otherwise , and sooner or later you will be effected and churches will certainly be forced to embrace it , that is the sodomites agenda from the very start , the bible calls them ” implacable ” and your going to find that out the hard way , I am old enough to see their progression , AIDS were not enough warning for them , they blamed everyone but themselves despite the facts that are still prevalent now , and the likes of you are embracing that !! [ are you insane ? ] get your head straight , hum read their manifesto from 1987 , google it or watch it on you tube , your in for a shock .

          • Val Thonis

You are completely delusional posting such a rant. Nothing you have said is true or valid in any way.

          • ppp777

It looks like it’s already happened , a true reprobate .

          • TruthvLIes

          • Val Thonis

          • TruthvLIes

Trail blocked. Annoying isn’t it when you can’t go where you want to go even if where you want to go will lead you up the garden path..

          • This style 10/6

I know that I am a man and that my wife is a woman. Will that do you?

Most churches, synagogues, temples, mosques will define marriage as a union between a man and a woman. Increasingly civil jurisdictions are defining marriage as a union between two people of any sex.

Nowhere, so far as I know are religious organisations forced to perform a marriage between two people of the same sex.

I hope this clears things up for you.

          • Val Thonis

No, this statement is absurd. You are comparing 60 million deaths in medicine to BILLIONS throughout history killed by the lack of medicine throughout history. Oddly enough, it has absolutely been religion which has prevented many breakthroughs in medicine. Some of which would reduce infant mortality to a basic statistic which renders it nearly inconsequential (as modern medicines and abortions have very nearly already allowed).

          • TruthvLIes

Oddly enough you, like so many who want to criticise religion use such meaningless claims as billions killed because religion prevented medical breakthroughs without a scrap of evidence.

I read story after story of christians giving up a life of ease and going to poorer countries and dedicating their lives to the needs of the less well off.

Oh, and by the way, saying that “religion” is the cause what religion are you referring to. Seeing as there are 43,000 of them using the word religion is meaningless.

          • Val Thonis

Were you trying to make a point here?

          • TruthvLIes

If I was it obviously went right over your head, but the fact is all I did was point out a few facts which seems to have gone right over your head as well.

But should not expect too much from those who can’t handle the truth.

          • Val Thonis

You really have no clue what you’re talking about.

          • TruthvLIes

Another embarrassed shoot from the lip comment from someone who cannot handle the truth.

Oh, by the way, I am looking forward to all your evidence that I do not know what I am talking about. I won’t hold my breath.

          • Val Thonis

No, instead they had an infant mortality rate that was so shocking that people were required to have 4+ children (who reached puberty) just to maintain the population. To grow as a society 7+. That mortality rate slaughtered far more people than you’re talking about.

          • TruthvLIes

Another shoot from the lip comment to save face.

When I was teaching Economics to year 12 I gave them an exercise to compare a third world countries economy of their choice with a first world economy like Australia.

I did the exercise myself so that I would have something to compare it against after giving them pointers as to what to look for.

In almost every case, in the third world countries their welfare system was their children. There were no government handouts. The parents had several children so that the burden of looking after them in old age did not fall on one or two children.

It was normal to have several children for this reason. it had nothing at all to do with population growth.

The mortality rate was due to medical facilities not provided by the government that is why so many christian doctors and nurses are giving up lucrative jobs to go to these countries to set up clinics and hospitals to provide medical services at no charge to the poor.

Whilst the average person lives in poverty, the leaders live in absolute luxury and if they need medical facilities they just hop onto their private jet to another country with first world facilities.

A typical example is Mugabe of Zimbabwe which has an unemployment rate of 80% whilst he lives in a palace with walls lined with gold and is worth millions of dollars whilst the people suffer an inflation rate of over 500 million%. In other words, money is totally worthless.

So I am not impressed by your trite little shooting from the lip comment

          • Val Thonis

You have no clue what you’re really talking about. I understand you were a teacher. That doesn’t mean anything out of a classroom to me. I understand you can tell people who know nothing how to think. You bring up many things you have learned about in a disjointed manner and tried to lump them together to invalidate my statement.

Here’s the problem. You think I’m pontificating when in reality I’m describing what has happened for thousands of years. You can’t compare the past 50 years of abortion and mortality rates. It looks like we’re horrible people. But if you consider long term mortality rates it’s as if we entered an age of miracles. Sorry, but your economics teachings don’t mean anything when it comes to medical history, medicine, anthropology or biology. There are economic factors but your confirmation bias allows you to pretend that means anything.

          • TruthvLIes

Nice try Val but once again all you are doing is trying to avoid the obvious which is the truth.

What you have actually said is that all my teaching to year 12 about the economies of third world countries is a bunch of lies because it does not fit your theories.

That seems strange because in the educational world I inhabited all curriculum had to be vetted by a curriculum coordinator before it was taught. So if it was all lies it would have been picked up before I taught it.

So, sorry to say Val, I do have a clue as to what I am talking about, especially as when I retired a yr 11 male economics student stood and said in front of the class that I was a good teacher because I made them work hard but I was always fair and I knew my stuff.

Coming from a male student that was praise indeed so unless you can produce evidence to the contrary, I will ignore your childish ranting and raving.

          • Val Thonis

“I will ignore your childish ranting and raving.”

            You are a lunatic.

          • TruthvLIes

i didn’t know you were a comedian and I am still waiting for your evidence which you don’t seem to have.

  • Nidalap

    Ick.

  • Tony Demarcus, Ph.D., D.D.

It is disgusting that these feces worshiping sodomites are allowed in the government in the first place! And in a good Southern state of Florida. This is the kind of matter that occurs when Christians become a bunch lieberal wussies, like the Bobby Jones crowd, afraid to stand up for Christ and for proper Christian values! Where the heck are all the real Christians to attend this “ceremony” and tell the sodomites, effeminates, and perverted women what Jesus has to say about them?! We can only propose that they are being nothing more than what the esteemed preacher James Lyman called being “armchair quaterbacks!”

Relative the following being stated withing this article, “Lisa Middleton, a man who identifies as a woman (pictured), and Christy
Holstege, an attorney who identifies as bisexual, were both sworn in on
Wednesday after being elected last month” by Heather Clark, there is something amiss, isn’t there? Given that we’re dealing with those given over to reprobate mind, it is apropo to indicate which heathen in the picture is which!

    • Silas Jennings

Flagging your hate speech, sir. “Feces worshipping sodomites” indeed!
