Paula White Reps. Scrub Web Page of Language Urging ‘First Fruits’ Offering of Day, Week, Month’s Wages, ‘Consequences’ for Not Giving

APOPKA, Fla. — Following media reports and public backlash over the matter, representatives for false teacher Paula White, who also serves as the chair of President Trump’s Evangelical Advisory Board, have scrubbed a page on White’s website of any mention that she had urged followers to give a “first fruits” offering of a day, week, or month’s wages—and that there are “consequences” for those who don’t give God their first fruits out of “ignorance or direct disobedience.”

As previously reported, Leonardo Blair of the Christian Post had first reported on White’s pitch, in which she declared via the web page (which includes a recorded video), “When we apply the Principle of First Fruits, we see that all firsts should be given to the Lord: the first of the day, week (Sabbath), month, and the first of our harvest—be it the wages for the first day, week, or the month.”

She asserted that “2018 is a year of life and deliverance from struggle [and] it begins right now with first fruits.” White noted that part of the Hebrew word for 18 means “alive” or “living.”

“We are demanding life to your purpose,” White declared. “And with obedience to this first fruits instruction, which is putting God first now, your purpose, your year, your prosperity, and your power will have life and be resurrected!”

She said that she personally gives one month’s wages every year, and noted that others “sow a month’s pay, a week’s pay, [or] a day’s pay,”—whatever is their best.

“Each January, I put God first and honor Him with the first of our substance by sowing a first fruits offering of one month’s pay. That is a big sacrifice, but it is a seed for the harvest I am believing for in the coming year,” White outlined.

“When you apply this, everything comes in divine alignment for His plan and promises for you. When you don’t honor it, whether through ignorance or direct disobedience, there are consequences,” she also warned.

White urged followers, both in the video and article, to click on a donate button to give their first fruits offering to her ministry. Depending on the amount donated, she offered a book, devotional and/or wall calendar, repeating several times that one should give God “their best.”

“Many people can do more! Remember, I believe in sowing a month’s, week’s, or day’s pay,” White reiterated. “By honoring God and obeying His Word it shifts something supernaturally! It’s about doing your very best! Honoring God with the principle of first fruits with your seed is all about Him—God is worth it! Let me hear from you right away and make your ‘promise to come’ a reality!”

However, following media reports about the matter, as of Jan. 9, any language referencing a “day, week or month’s” wages or “consequences” or “demanding life to your purpose”—or any of the above quotes, with the exception of the book/devotional/calendar offer and references to giving your best—was absent from the web page. An edited version remains, which still asks followers via a donate button to “give your first fruits offering today.” The link leads to a donation page, which likewise discusses first fruits.

Christian News Network utilized the Wayback Machine to compare both versions of the web page. Click here for the original post by White and/or her staff and here for the edited post.

A spokesperson for White also claimed to the Christian Post in a statement that White’s remarks weren’t reported in their “full context” in Blair’s article and that White was only referring to herself giving of a month’s wages—and that she wasn’t suggesting that her followers must donate a month’s salary to her ministry or suffer the consequences.

“Pastor Paula White’s comments were originally reported out of their full context. She was actually speaking of her personal, longtime commitment to ‘put God first at the beginning of a new year,’ and as part of that commitment she has often donated her entire January salary to charity in gratitude to God for His blessings,” the statement said.

“She encouraged others to also be generous, but she does not—and did not—suggest that other people must donate a month’s salary to her or her church or face divine punishment,” the spokesperson added. “Charity is at the heart of Christianity as it is at the heart of every religious tradition in the world, and anyone who has listened to White’s teaching within its proper context should come to this conclusion as well.”

Text still remains in White’s video uploaded to YouTube, which reads in all capital letters, “Bring God the whole of the first — 1st day — 1st week — 1st month’s wages!” Below the urging reads, “Honor God with your first fruits offering — Click the donate button!” (as seen above in main photo)

“I want you to click on that [donate] button, and I want you to honor God with His first fruits offering,” White also states in the video.

As previously reported, White considers herself a life coach, authoring books such as “The Ten Commandments of Health and Wellness,” “Simple Suggestions for a Sensational Life,” “I Don’t Get Wholeness, That’s the Problem—Making Relationships Work” and “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not.”

She has been married three times. Her first marriage was to Dean Knight, who she married as a teenager. The two have a son together, named Bradley. In 2007, White divorced her second husband, Randy White, and in 2015, she married Journey rocker Jonathan Cain, who has likewise been married three times.

By golly, you’re quite right here, Amos. This person is a scam artist, and I’m very relived to know you’re one of many very deeply religious people I know who are not being taken in and fleeced for money. As you know, I am not a religious person, and I certainly haven’t watched her TV shows, but I understand they’re very popular, and she makes extraordinary amounts of money from them. As I said earlier, I feel very sorry for her victims. You are being a very good person to stand up and say no.

1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

Well, I’m very happy to say that on a very basic level, I agree with some folks here. I find this “Paula White” person to be an extremely creepy individual, preying upon the poor and uneducated for money. All in the guise of “religion”. She conducts her business tax free. Because she is a “pastor”. I feel very sorry for her victims. They feel that by sending her money (bits of what little money they have) they will be “right with God”, and will profit, if not in this world “but the next” (as they see it.) She is simply a successful scam artist, robbing her fans blind. It’s a shame and a scandal.

No mention of rescuing the perishing, care for the dying. A soul-winning, bondage deliverance, life transforming ministry??? Is ministry flourishing even as souls are daily dropping into the pit of Hell never to be redeemed or delivered from eternal torment?

There are obvious concerns here, not the least of which is Paula in a role not scripturally designed for women; that said, though, I believe we have far bigger fish to fry than this one. Personally, I would give my right arm to hear Paula & other members of Trump’s faith team tell the president something to the effect:

“Mr. President, we as ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ believe you are called to the office of the presidency for such a time as this and as such, firmly believe you have a major role in returning America to a state of righteousness that it has not been in generations. The 2015 Supreme Court decision Obergefell vs. Hodges to allow homosexual marriage across our land is a stench in the nostrils of the Almighty to which He cannot fully bless this nation until that stench is removed. Furthermore, because Obergefell did not come about via an Act of Congress but a usurpation from the High Court (not unlike Roe vs. Wade), we are convinced that you have an obligation, both politically & spiritually, to take any & all steps necessary to ensure the rescission of this legalized abomination. We are fully aware that any such move may well bring down the wrath of the LGBT crowd but in the end, we are absolutely convinced that it is far better to incur their wrath than that of the Almighty, whose consequences for engaging in homosexual conduct are well defined in the Holy Scriptures. We as ministers of the Gospel of Christ are prepared to unconditionally stand behind you and with you, no matter what the cost, in order to do the right thing and remove this blot on our land.

Knowing what the Psalmist said in Ps. 33:12, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” & even more cognizant of the words of King Solomon in Prov. 14:34, “Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people”, we have a solemn obligation as ministers of the gospel as well as your spiritual advisors to see you thru to this very end. The political price to stand against the abomination of Obergefell may indeed appear large but in light of eternity, it greatly pales to the rewards you will receive, both in this life and next, We thus ask you to do the right thing, to see this domino completely fall, regardless of cost, knowing that we members of the Body of Christ called to the callings we mutually have will literally stand with you in light of any persecution you will face for doing the right thing.

This we call upon you to do this very day and God to abundantly bless you as you do.”

Will this ever happen? In the flesh, I tend to doubt it. But I believe if we pray to that end and urge the president’s spiritual advisors to engage him accordingly, maybe we will see the impossible occur. Time to believe big!

    • Chet

1000 thumbs up! And please know, Mr. President, try as you might, America can never be great again as she continues on her downward spiral spiritually. To stop the slide, return marriage to the state God Almighty so decreed it. And no more taxpayer funding of abortion. People wanting to kill their own must fund it out of pocket. Work for some public TV spots on this matter just as those regarding drugs, smoking and texting while driving. This nation needs repentance IAW II Chronicles 7:14, Holy Bible…

      • Nedd Kareiva

Thank you for that great endorsement, Chet. I have believed from day one with Trump in office that this is what must be done. I am a huge believer in the Word in Faith message (in the proper scriptural context) but with that comes the obligation to address our spiritually decaying culture, most of which these ministers have long been loath to do. But it must be done. And I completely concur on abortion as well, (namely reversing Roe vs. Wade) but I deliberately wanted to stay to just one theme here, the sole sin leading to fire & brimstone. However, the importance of reversing Roe cannot be overstated, though thankfully the abortion industry is, pardon the pun, is more or less on life support now with fewer & fewer “doctors” participating and more & more clinics closing.

I am pondering starting a website to the effect of getting these faith preachers to come together to put their words in action in our cultural arena. I believe I am among a small contingent of these adherents who are convinced the time to act is past due and those who, for whatever reason, refuse will have to be accountable to both God & His people for their unwillingness to do their part to restore America to a godly status. Thanks again for your affirmation and God bless.

She said to give to God, not to the king or anybody else. So why is she or they including the king collecting anything? Everything belongs to God, not the people. The first of the month would be paying rent to God or will the people will be trespassing or a thieves if God does not receive it.

God said the earth is mine and everything on it, and beware of false teachings they will be everywhere and change my words so they may prosper. That would constitute theft and fraud is predicted. That would make every religious person a wolf in sheep’s clothing. A wolf in sheep’s clothing is a fraud, and the world will be full of false prophets and take in every king into the abyss and God will save none. Any person claiming to know God must papers of God claiming them to be true, and the only way to get those papers is to go to the place that he does dwell and ask for the permission to receive the written word.

    • Robin Egg

      What are you smoking?

      • Martin Johnson

Well if Jesus is going to return to the earth he is going to need a father. He is not going to fall out of the sky without being frozen solid for about two thousand years. So God has a door on the earth someplace. No child is to be born unless it is a child of God. God created man in his own image, and gave every man an altar, and the God’s altar is written as amber and fire. Ezekiel 1 & 8. And I get told I am very bright in the sun, So I must be smoking religions every time I go out the door. Ha-Ha, The FBI knows my address, and that I am real, and don’t go around telling people I will save their souls when every religion says to serve me. Clergy are thieves. I also know what my supernatural abilities are, you don’t know them, but my friends do.

Revelation 1:8, 14-15 is a smoking description, ohh yeahh! You did ask, and you did receive an answer.

What a horrible, poorly written piece of garbage this story is. I even agree with the sentiments but this kind of ugliness makes CNN look like real news and the national enquirer appear sane. Please you can do better.
