(Hartford Courant)— The body of a newborn baby was found at a Stamford recycling facility Tuesday, police said.
Workers at City Carting & Recycling, 61 Taylor Reed Place, discovered the baby about 8:40 a.m. and called police. The baby, who appears to be a boy, was found among the recyclable materials, Lt. Tom Scanlon said.
First responders arrived and confirmed that the baby was not alive, Scanlon said.
Representatives of the state medical examiner’s office went to the scene, as did members of the city’s crime scene and major crime units, he said.
