‘We Will Not Let Evil Win’: Joint Prayer Service Held for SC Man Shot During Sunday Church Robbery

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH-TV) Two congregations came together to unite in prayer Friday evening.

Rosewood Baptist Church hosted a vigil for Centro Cristiano de Columbia where a gunman shot a parishioner, Esvin Perez, during early morning services this past Sunday.

Jerimias Perez, the brother of of Esvin, spoke to the crowd with another witness and recalled the horrifying events at the church.

Jerimias fought back tears as he told the crowd, through a Spanish to English translator, that he told his brother to pray for forgiveness when he was shot, just in case, so that he can go to Heaven.
